TWW post medicated FET

Hey everyone,

I had a 5 day blastocyst transfer and I’m currently 11dp5dt.

My clinic told me to test at 15dp5dt which seems so long..

it’s a medicated FET and I’m on the standard meds my clinic uses: cyclogest pessaries x 3, lubion x 1 and 6mg progynova (so all just estrogen and progesterone). Never had any other meds this cycle.

I was originally doing a naturally cycle transfer (but had to switch) and for that, the official test day was only 11dp5dt! Anyone know why the difference? Intrigued to understand that…

also obviously going mental waiting! :)

Hi @Woman5678 , I don’t know why the test date would be different but I’m also curious.

I did a clear blue this morning at 10dp5dt and it was negative so I’m pretty sure this cycle failed for us. There’s been a lot of tears this morning 🙈

I hope you get your positive!

Lebe14 · 14/10/2023 13:59

I'm not sure either... I've got a medicated FET cycle coming up and was told the test date will be 12 days post transfer of a day 5 blast x

Lebe14 · 14/10/2023 14:00

Just to add @Woman5678 my medication is exactly the same as yours too - x4 2mg progynova, x3 cycologest and x1 lubion x

Woman5678 · 14/10/2023 14:13

@Blossomofhope well done for having the courage to test but I’m so sorry it was negative :(. I think 10dpt is too early so try and remain hopeful. There must be some good reason they don’t want us to test until day 15?! But I would be feeling the same as you. I’m feeling like our cycle may have failed too as I’ve only had mild symptoms on and off from the progesterone/ drugs. I’m absolutely terrified to test. I don’t know how I’ll manage it on test day. 🤦🏼‍♀️ it’s just such a long old journey isn’t it.

@Lebe14 that’s interesting! So it differs between clinics AND cycle types. If you find out the reason let us know :) ! The only difference between my medication and yours is that you’re doing 4x progynova but I’m doing 3x. Otherwise exactly the same 🤷🏼‍♀️

It’s a mystery!! Xxx

@Woman5678 i actually meant to say 7dp5dt - not sure why I wrote 10. I messaged the clinic to ask if it’s ok to stop taking progesterone and she said no the result is not accurate as it’s only one week after your transfer. Which is odd considering as far as I understand that’s the same as 12dpo which I thought would be an ok time to test. Also everything I see online is people getting positive tests at 4 and 5 days passed transfer. I want to believe the nurse but also don’t want to get my hopes up again for nothing.

My clinic have advised me to test with them at 11dp5dt and my cycle was medicated so I’m not sure why yours is 15dp. Also I think it’s wise to hold off testing if you can. Not sure why I do it to myself 😅

Woman5678 · 14/10/2023 14:43

@Blossomofhope ohhh 7dpt is definitely too early then! I think even though our blastocysts are already 5 days old, they still need time to implant so it is all a bit longer than a natural pregnancy. Did you have any symptoms at 7dpt that made you test? What day is your day 11? Wishing you so much luck, I really hope it’s positive for you!

Yes, I have no idea why mine is 15 days, I have googled the hell out of it of course and cannot find any explanation for it being that long. Everyone seems to be given around 11dpt. But now they’ve told me that day, I’ll have to wait! The waiting continues…. 😂

OP posts:
Blossomofhope · 14/10/2023 19:11

@Woman5678 no symptoms, just curious yet/impatience really. I had really sore boobs the first few days but now they’re barely sore at all. No other symptoms 😕

so will your test be at the clinic or just at home? Are you planning to wait til 15dp?

Woman5678 · 14/10/2023 21:01

@Blossomofhope it will just be at home using a normal pregnancy test! Will yours be a blood test at the clinic? I don’t think my clinic do those. Maybe that’s why yours is a bit earlier?

Yes I’m going to wait it out… got a couple of really busy days Monday and Tuesday anyway so I’m thinking it’s better not to be all upset those days so it can wait until Weds which is the official test day for me..

I think we’ll be testing the same day. Wishing you so much luck and crossing my fingers for you. Let me know how you get on? X

Blossomofhope · 15/10/2023 09:56

@Woman5678 Thank you so much. Best of luck to you too!!
yes I’ll be doing a blood test at the clinic on Wednesday which will be 11dp5dt. I will be totally shocked if it’s positive to be honest and I think I’ve done all my crying this week 🙈😅 so hopefully no more tears come Wednesday. You’re wise to plan testing around your schedule!!

yes I will keep you posted absolutely, same for you. I’m assuming it’s too early for symptoms etc yet. Is this your first ivf cycle?

Woman5678 · 15/10/2023 10:37

@Blossomofhope yes it’s my first transfer (FET). Had my egg collection back in June, had to freeze all because of OHSS risk. Then tried a natural cycle FET which didn’t work so then did this medicated cycle.. praying but also not feeling hopeful as I don’t feel anything good/ different really at all! Is this your first cycle? Will think of you Weds!

Most people seem to not get symptoms this early - normally like 6 weeks pregnant from different things I’ve read. But I just feel like i would feel different or something.

Feeling super anxious today about it all! Hoping for both of us - will keep you posted! x

Blossomofhope · 15/10/2023 13:14

It’s my first ivf cycle but I’ve tried 4 iuis before. Only two got to iui day though. If this fails I think I might try ivf once more and then take a break!!

Maybe no symptoms are a good sign for you! 🤞🏻ya I’ll keep you posted!

Jellyfish1956 · 15/10/2023 15:10

Hi all, I am 9dp5dt and my test date is tomorrow.

I've had period cramps since last night so I am guessing that's me out too.

I have also had alot of tears this morning @Blossomofhope

I have no idea why your clinic are asking you to wait until 15 days past transfer @Woman5678 but fingers crossed to it positive is coming!

Woman5678 · 15/10/2023 15:21

@Jellyfish1956 thank you! Wishing you loads of luck for tomorrow too! 🤞🏼

I have been so exhausted today (not sure if I’m ill) and have also had a bit of yellow/brown discharge so I think I might be out too :(. Thought that wasn’t supposed to happen with all the progesterone!

good luck to you both, let us know xx

Blossomofhope · 15/10/2023 17:22

Sorry to hear @Jellyfish1956 .. sometimes it’s needed. Have you tested at all yet? Cramps could be good maybe? Best of luck tomorrow!!

Jellyfish1956 · 15/10/2023 17:58

No, haven't test at all yet @Blossomofhope I'm too scared to see yet another negative. I just can't help but wonder when it will be our turn. I want this for me but also so much for my partner. Are you feeling any better this evening?

Maybe the discharge is implantation spotting @Woman5678 🤞🏻🤞🏻

Blossomofhope · 15/10/2023 18:18

@Jellyfish1956 I know, it’s so tough to keep longing for something you want so much but can’t control.

hopefully it’ll be a lucky cycle for you and @Woman5678 ❤️

Woman5678 · 16/10/2023 22:03

How did you get on today @Jellyfish1956 ? Did you have a blood test? Hope you’re ok x

OP posts:
Jellyfish1956 · 17/10/2023 08:24

I can't believe I'm writing this, but yesterday I got my first ever positive. Had my bloods done at the clinic and they said they were happy with my hCG which is good! More bloods tomorrow to see if it's going up.

I'm really happy but there's such a long way to go that I'm being cautious with it 🤞🏻🤞🏻

How are you both getting on @Woman5678 and @Blossomofhope ?

Blossomofhope · 17/10/2023 09:51

Ahh that’s amazing news @Jellyfish1956 - I’m so happy for you!!! Best of luck with the next test, hope there’s a steady rise. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

My blood test is tomorrow. I tested yesterday (9dp5dt) which was negative and today I’ve a headache, nausea and light spotting so I suspect this is the start of a period.

I think your test day is tomorrow too? @Woman5678

Woman5678 · 18/10/2023 11:16

It was a negative for me today sadly. So we have to just move on and try again when we can.

Congratulations @Jellyfish1956 !!!!

@Blossomofhope good luck today - let us know how you get on? Xxx

Blossomofhope · 18/10/2023 13:33

Ah I’m so sorry @Woman5678 .. I know it’s so tough & upsetting. Did they say if there’s anything that can be learned from this cycle?

I haven’t got the call yet but my period started yday so I don’t need the call 😅 .. Thinking about maybe trying again in a month but need to gear myself up.

Jellyfish1956 · 18/10/2023 13:39

I'm so sorry to hear that @Blossomofhope and @Woman5678 I had a negative result after my first transfer so I know how upsetting it is.

When are you both thinking of trying again? Sending love your way 🩵

Thank you for your congratulations! I'm still in shock and nervously waiting for the clinic to call with my blood test result from today.

Blossomofhope · 18/10/2023 14:13

Best of luck @Jellyfish1956 .. was this your second transfer? And did you do anything differently?

The clinic called, they were so nice. More tears 😂 .. I think my partner is tempted to take a break from it now. I’m tempted to try again soon but it’s so hard to know what is the best thing to do.

Woman5678 · 18/10/2023 14:29

@Jellyfish1956 thank you. How many embryo transfers have you had? Is this your second transfer and first success? Did you do one after the other?

I think we will try again as soon as we can but we’re seeing a doctor for a follow up at the clinic next week to discuss options. I want to ask about pgt-a testing on our remaining embryos and also if there are any tests I can have to check everything is ok with my uterus / implantation. I’ve suffered with endometriosis in the past and have a retroverted uterus - don’t know if that effects anything at all though.

So sorry to hear that @Blossomofhope , thinking of you. It’s a shit day but it’ll happen for us xxx

Jellyfish1956 · 18/10/2023 14:43

This was my second transfer. I didn't have one after my fresh round, as the cycle unexpectedly ended up as a freeze all. I then tried a fully medicated frozen cycle which was cancelled due to thin lining. Then a modified natural cycle where I had a transfer but resulted in a negative result. another FET which resulted in a negative and
