Hello, I'm starting a June thread for IVFers - I couldn't see one on the board. Please join!

I'm 39 and this will be our second round. The first round in November resulted in 2 blastocysts from 10 eggs. First transfer failed, got pregnant from the second transfer but miscarried at 9.5 weeks at the beginning of April.

Now raring to go again!

Congratulations @Keepingeverythingxxx that's a really good hcg level! You must be thrilled 😁

FiddleLeaf · 09/07/2023 09:00

Congrats @Keepingeverythingxxx !

The bloating is trying at the mo. I’m WFH but plan to go into the office once this coming week & no idea what I’m going to wear yet.

I’m trying to keep my mind occupied with housework, work work & quizzes 🤓 but it’s so difficult in the 2WW. Plus, I had a lot of strange cramps and some heart burn yesterday which could be the ivf progesterone or could be something more positive. It’s going to be a LONG week! 🤣

Keepingeverythingxxx · 09/07/2023 11:02

Thanks @FiddleLeaf :0)

That wait is torture….I feel your pain. Try planning on some days out somewhere to keep your mind off things. A good boxset should keep you entertained too or if you like reading get stuck into a book. Anything to distract you!

Good luck with this next week and I hope you get the best outcome :0) xx

ttcsolomumtobe · 09/07/2023 12:11

@Keepingeverythingxxx wow congratulations! Such an exciting but nerve-wracking wait!

Sounds like both you and @FiddleLeaf are keeping busy for the 2WW and have some nice plans.

Summer223 · 09/07/2023 18:57

Good luck @Gryffindoratheart and @FiddleLeaf with the 2WW - everything crossed for you for a positive outcome. I worked (gently) through mine (with no commuting) last couple of times and found that really helped to keep mind busy (i.e. distraction!). @Lebe14 don't worry too much about the grading, I have had friends who have succeeded with lower grade embryos so it is all possible :)Take a much deserved break and time out. So great to have those frosties in the freezer :). And @IslaO , that's a really positive response to the drugs, keep going & holding hope. My specialist always talked of the first round as a 'getting to know your body & how it responds' so if you end up doing a second round, they know how you work better & can optimise the medication etc.

We get our next update on Tuesday, when will find out whether our embroyos have made it to day 5 and whether my body is in a decent enough state to do our last frozen transfer. Holding hope...!

Summer223 · 12/07/2023 11:39

Have joined you all on the 2ww- we did a frozen transfer yesterday. One of our fresh embryos has made it to day five so has gone for genetic testing and get those results about the same time. Now trying to keep busy and praying for good news .
in case anyone else is doing daily Lubion injections, I have found doing them really slowly (half speed of any of the others) makes them a lot less painful!

IVFGotThis05 · 12/07/2023 12:03

I thought I'd pop up again, I'm an hour away from transfer so will be joining you all with the lovely 2WW !! :)

IslaO · 12/07/2023 16:01

Hi ladies. Had my retrieval today. Was told they got 15 eggs. Do you know if that means 15 mature eggs or it will be later before I hear how many are mature?

IVFGotThis05 · 12/07/2023 16:33

@IslaO for me it was the amount collected and then I was told the following morning how many were mature and how many fertilised! Amazing number though! 👏

Oh wow, that’s a great number! Congrats & take it easy for a few days 💐

FiddleLeaf · 12/07/2023 19:01

How many days post transfer will you all test? I’ve been a bit naughty a week after mine… 😬

Summer223 · 12/07/2023 19:17

Hi @FiddleLeaf , in past I have tested 10 days after an fet- any earlier and I think you can get false positives / false negatives etc, so I didn’t want to give myself extra stress! It’s so hard though isn’t it!

well done @IslaO , that’s a really positive start. Sounds like the no of eggs collected, next they should check how many are mature /suitable then let you know how many fertilise. Ultimately it’s how many that make it to blastocyst (day 5) that’s most helpful .

ttcsolomumtobe · 12/07/2023 19:33

@IslaO that's a great number, hope you are taking it easy and resting x

FiddleLeaf · 12/07/2023 21:58

Thanks @Summer223 . It’s come up as an immediate positive and a strong line so keeping my fingers crossed. Will try to resist testing for a few days 😬🙏🏼

Summer223 · 13/07/2023 06:02

Everything crossed for you @FiddleLeaf ! Xx

Hello everyone, I'm rejoining because I'm in the middle of my TWW and feeling a bit round the pipe..!

I'm 8dp5dt. I haven't tested yet. DP is adamant we can't test till OTD, which is Sunday. Starting to feel a bit crazed with the wait. I also feel EXACTLY like my period's coming. This is my third TWW and they've all felt different. It's so hard not to read into things.

@FiddleLeaf Tentative congratulations to you ⭐️ were you 8dp5dt when you tested? Sounds very promising if so...

@IslaO Brilliant number of eggs. Hope you've had a positive update since then.

Hope everyone else is doing OK.

Thanks @countrypunk. How are you keeping yourself occupied in the 2WW?

We’re feeling calm about the results so far & just saying that we’re not out of the running. I’ve tested again today (because clearly I’m made of money) & another positive. I may as well be honest with myself and accept I’m going to keep testing until our OTD which isn’t until Tuesday 😩. We’re 8dp5dt today & 15 days since the trigger shot.

countrypunk · 13/07/2023 18:07

@FiddleLeaf Ah you're the same day as me then!

I'm not really keeping myself occupied 😬😬😬 It's pretty much all I'm thinking about. My mum's staying tonight and she doesn't stop talking so that'll keep my brain occupied with other things at least.

I have a test upstairs and it's taking all my willpower not to use it!

I hope you keep getting positives. You'd be very unlucky not to 💜

OP posts:
FiddleLeaf · 13/07/2023 18:14

Ah I feel your pain so much! I was going to hold off until OTD but I just have zero will power. The wait between egg collection and transfer day nearly killed me 🤣

Will you tell people if it’s positive on Sunday? I don’t know when the share the news, either way really.

countrypunk · 13/07/2023 18:34

@FiddleLeaf It's gonna be very difficult to keep a positive result from my mum because she knows we're in the TWW and I'm going to stay there for a week on Monday. Tricky. I think I'll just have to plead the fifth and tell her I'm taking no further questions. We won't tell anyone else I don't think. It's a difficult one though because after my last transfer we had a miscarriage, and we did tell lots of people then because it was nice to have the support.

Keepingeverythingxxx · 14/07/2023 10:01

Massive congratulations @FiddleLeaf! it’s sounding extremely positive :0)

Sorry to hear about your loss on your last round @countrypunk. I’ve got everything crossed it’s works out for you this time :0)

Ive always been so impatient in the past and given into the early tests 😂. This time I took a home pregnancy test on the morning of my bloods so I would at least know the outcome of the call that day xx

countrypunk · 14/07/2023 10:19

Thank you @Keepingeverythingxxx

I've caught up with the thread more now and see you're pregnant! Congratulations. Best of luck with your scan, I know how nerve-racking it is. And there's a possibility there might be two in there? So exciting!

OP posts:
Keepingeverythingxxx · 14/07/2023 13:04

Thank you @countrypunk.

It’s this Thursday. I’m really nervous about it. On our last round we made it to the 8wk scan before receiving the devastating news that we had lost the baby. I’m just praying it doesn’t happen this round 🙏🏻

If there’s more than one it really isn’t a problem, just as long as everything is ok xx

countrypunk · 14/07/2023 13:25

@Keepingeverythingxxx That's more or less what happened to us too. Shocking and devastating.

All I can say is, any woman who goes through IVF is extremely strong. The chances are everything will be absolutely fine. I'm sure you'll worry until you get there - if I ever get to that stage again, so will I. That's totally understandable. Just try to be kind to yourself and present in the moment. You're pregnant and that's amazing.

Xx

Hey all, I didn't end up going ahead in June but will be starting my cycle at some point in the next week... Wondered if there any tips you can share. Also re hygiene products/make up etc did anyone change what they used during the cycle? I read transfer day there should be no products used x
