Hi all,

I'm about to start my first IVF ICSI cycle. I expect to start my stims next week and all being well will have a fresh transfer in April.

Looking for buddies to come on this journey with me.

@charja100 im way off transfer now. Ive majorly fucked up and managed to fall pregnant in this cycle wait for my period. It was a massive shock. I only found out yesterday and already feel like its failing now. Ive been cramping non stop for 4 days. Its getting to me now
Just in case anyone is wondering its not a congratulations, this will be my 4th MC now. I feel so stupid coz this is the primary reason we are doing IVF to get normal embryos of which i have 2 waiting. Now the wait is going to be even longer. I have no idea how long this is going to take and how long the clinic will now make me waitafterr before i can start tranfer again. Im feeling pretty shit to be honest.

Wish you the best of luck with yours. I really hope this one is yours

Flowerlover010 · 13/07/2023 21:11

@charja100 oh thats ok i did wonder why you thought i was tomorrow!

VioletCookie · 13/07/2023 21:12

@Flower356 let us know how you get on. I hope this is your time!

@charja100 thank you, we're having a great time at work aren't we 😅 so we're waiting for AF, due around the 25th, then we'll start FET meds again. Praying we don't have another cancelled transfer but who bloody knows! I'm treating myself to a prosecco tomorrow, is that bad?! I'm so fed up I just want one! The nurse said I could and I've been soooo excited 🤣

charja100 · 13/07/2023 21:15

@Flowerlover010 oh I'm so sorry that you're feeling sad. It's really hard when things don't go to plan. I'm so hopeful for you that this could be your miracle, but I understand how you're feeling knowing your journey to get to this point.

We're here for you. Sending you big hugs.

@charja100 thank you ive done a lot of crying. Just getting so fed up with it. Started ivf journey dec 2022 and still haven't had a transfer yet!

@VioletCookie absolutely have that drink!! No reason not to. You cannot let this completely take over your life! Do what you need to do to try enjoy life. Thinking of everyone right now. Its so tough.

charja100 · 13/07/2023 21:23

@VioletCookie honestly work is just a nightmare! I've told my work now though and I'm going to have boundaries for the next few weeks after transfer tomorrow. They'll just have to deal with it 🤣

Ohhhh do it. I had some red wine a 2 weekends ago with my hubby for our anniversary and had some drinks at a work social that we had a week ago. But I haven't drink since and I wont after transfer obviously .

@Flowerlover010 sorry I'm getting all muddled! I swear the progesterone sends me loopy and I get memory loss. It's like my brain just isn't computing at the moment!

VioletCookie · 13/07/2023 22:12

OK I'm on it, prosecco and dancing in a rainy field. Can not wait!!

Well done @charja100, hopefully those boundaries are respected! I've got a new guy that's needing so much hand holding and I just don't have the time, energy or patience right now 😅 He's lovely but it's like having a teenager in one ear and out the other!

@Flowerlover010 I get that pregnancy is sooo triggering when you've had miscarriages. Have you spoken to the IVF clinic? I would say keep looking after yourself while there's no blood. This might be baby burrowing in deeper but I completely understand how you must be feeling and I really sympathise. What is hubby saying?

CR7 · 13/07/2023 22:17

@Flowerlover010 always here ♥️

Flowerlover010 · 13/07/2023 22:19

@VioletCookie he is annoyingly positive as always lol i honestly dont know how he can be. Im obviously negative but i know my body better than he does. I know he means well but its a bit frustrating. Im trying to look after myself but kind of just driving myself a bit nuts. I just think this progesterone is delaying the bleed, as ive got the cramps!

charja100 · 13/07/2023 22:23

@VioletCookie pleased to hear it you enjoy that Prosecco and that field dancing!

I totally get you re managing someone who doesn't get it. I've got someone reporting into me in North America since mid last month and I wish I hadn't agreed to adding them to my team they're a time sucker!

@everyone check out channel 4... celebrity save our sperm on channel 4 right now!

Well remembered! I have, yes -- so I'm on a health kick for the next two months as there's nothing much else I can do. Very luckily though, I don't seem to be having any side effects from the injection at all!

charja100 · 14/07/2023 13:36

@Flower356 and @CR7 thank you! On our way there now.

@girljulian ah that's great you're not getting side effects! Well done on the health kick. Anything specific your doing or avoiding?

I went back to drinking now and then after the transfer failed, so that's cut out again now along with caffeine...mostly it's just trying to eat lots of protein and fruit and vegetables, i.e. what I should be doing anyway. Oh well...!

Hope your transfer went okay and embaby is now on board!

charja100 · 14/07/2023 20:24

Hey everyone so update on transfer.

Em baby is on board but aaa a bit of an ordeal as I have scar tissue on my cervix from a cervical cancer removal surgery a few years ago. The scar tissue makes transfers challenging. It was a bit tricky last time and today I went in and she couldn't so it. So I had to drink more water and go back in a bit later and try again. Was pretty painful so they had me on gas and air, but they did it. I was so worried it was going to get cancelled.

We did see the little flash when they transferred though this time. It even made my hubby smile. He was so pleased it happened this time as he said he couldn't really see them do anything last time.

Felt a bit traumatised earlier but had a nap and feeling good now. Just glad to be PUPO and have my little frostie on board!

April623 · 14/07/2023 21:44

Hi everyone just catching up on the thread. Hope you are all doing ok.

@charja100 Wishing you the very very best of luck and hope the next couple of weeks goes quickly for you! x

MRSLMF · 15/07/2023 08:29

Hey girls sorry just catching up, i had a 2 days meltdown! Similar to you @VioletCookie the emotional rollercoaster is so hard at times! I woke up the other morning feeling like i just couldnt imagine ever being pregnant or holding my own baby.
@charja100this is great news congrats on PUPO! Reading your transfer issues made me feel better as it gave me hope! I've also had transfer issues, my fresh took about 40mins and was so uncomfortable, the nurse pulled the catheter out and it was completely twisted and she made a comment like "well that's not happened before" I was like great....filled me with joy...not! I'm so pleased this transfer went well for you and pray that it works this time :) @Flowerlover010 oh gosh I'm so sorry, I hope that this isn't a MC, I've got everything crossed for you! When your heads in that place it can be so frustrating when those around you ate being positive and you just want to scream NO! I know my own body! But we shall hope and pray for you for a little miracle xxx
R.e drinking......go for it! I honestly don't believe in the Saint nonsense and refuse to read the before egg book for this reason! I truly believe stressing ourselves out with the do's and don'ts generates stress and anxiety that just can't possibly help us :). My consultant has always said everything in moderation and no major lifestyle changes around key ivf moments!

MRSLMF · 15/07/2023 08:33

My friend went abroad for ivf, on her 3rd transfer she drank wine, smoked cigarettes....as she had given up hope and didn't think it would work. She said she was only doing it for hubbys sake.....that was the transfer that worked for her! She has a very healthy 2 year old from that transfer :)
Not that I'm advocating wine and cigarettes lol but it gives some perspective xx

charja100 · 15/07/2023 09:00

Thank you @April623 @CR7

@MRSLMF I'm also glad that I'm not the only one to have tricky transfers, but glad that they both happened for us! I'm sorry you had a bad couple of days. It's so hard to stay positive on the rollercoaster. I hope you're feeling better now?

@Flowerlover010 thinking of you.

@girljulian all the normal things I guess. I have just stayed off caffeine, I was a coffee addict before so knew if I went back it would be hard to give Uk again! I only asked as I wondered if perhaps the changes were helping mitigate any side effects
