endometrial cavity fluid / fluid in lining

ClubSandwich · 22/03/2023 15:20

Hello, so Sunday just gone, Day 9 of stims I had a scan and some fluid was seen in my lining. Today was egg collection and the fluid is still there. If it’s still there by transfer day (Monday) we will need to freeze all and abandon the cycle. I’m due to start cyclogest tonight and have read that it can help to ‘dry’ fluid out. Have also read that fluid at any point in an IVF cycle, even if it’s gone by transfer, is likely to fail.

Just wondering if anyone has any experience of this and what the outcome was please?

Thanks in advance

Hi @ClubSandwich

I'm currently going through the same situation after my egg collection. I've been advised to freeze all while they monitor the fluid.

May I ask how yours went and has the transfer been done. Thank you

ClubSandwich · 14/06/2023 15:53

Hi @Comfort2000 sorry to hear you are in the same situation, it’s so frustrating. My fluid disappeared before planned transfer date however the cycle itself ended in BFN. It’s not the first time fluid has been seen on scans but it does tend to clear up eventually. I’m currently doing a medicated FET cycle, have my day 12 scan on Friday so hoping the fluid won’t be an issue again!

Hi @ClubSandwich

Thank you for your reply. I'm so sorry the transfer ended in a BFN. I really hope this medication cycle works for you. Best wishes

They will be rescanning me on the transfer day as well and if the fluid is still there they would not continue with the transfer. I'm just hoping for a miracle. TTC for 5 years is so frustrating.

ClubSandwich · 14/06/2023 16:18

Thank you @Comfort2000 - sending you lots of luck and best wishes that your transfer will go ahead as planned

Hello @ClubSandwich Just writing to know how your FET cycle is going.

Unfortunately, my day 5 transfer was cancelled today as the fluid was still there and all embryos are now in the freezer. I'll probably be having my FET in August, hopefully the fluid clears out, fingers crossed.

Please was there anything you did differently to make the fluid clear or it just went on its own. Although my clinic wants to assume that the stimulation medications caused it and it should be gone once the medication is out of my body.

Best wishes in your FET and hope you get a positive result. Xx

ClubSandwich · 17/06/2023 20:51

Hey @Comfort2000 I’m so, so sorry to hear your cycle was cancelled. That’s so rubbish, I’m sorry. Had you started taking progesterone already? I took progesterone after my egg collection and supposedly that can help ‘dry’ the fluid. I have fluid again on this cycle as seen on my Day12 scan I had Friday. I’ve started progesterone anyway and will just have to hope that the fluid is gone by Thursday for proposed transfer day otherwise I’ll be having my cycle cancelled also.
Sorry again that your cycle has been cancelled, but hopefully your fluid issue will resolve and you’ll have success in your FET. Xx

Comfort2000 · 23/06/2023 17:24

@ClubSandwich thank you for your message. I also used progesterone after the egg collection but the fluid was still there on day 5. My FET would be in August and I'm really hoping the fluid is gone before then.

How did your transfer go too. I hope it ends in success for us. My prayers are with you Xx

ClubSandwich · 24/06/2023 04:27

Morning @Comfort2000, hope you’re doing okay and keeping well.

My transfer went well, thank you for asking - the fluid had completely disappeared the morning of transfer so fingers crossed for this cycle🤞🏼

Do you have any more scans booked in to monitor the fluid or is it a case of just waiting until august and seeing how things are looking?

best wishes to you, hopefully it resolves for you ❤️

Comfort2000 · 24/06/2023 04:37

Hey @ClubSandwich Hey, that's amazing news. I'm so glad you were able to proceed with the transfer. I really hope your lovely embryo sticks and you get your positive in 2 weeks.❤️

Yes, I have two scans booked before the transfer in august. Once I get my period I'll go for the first one to check if the fluid is still present. I might have to do Hycosy if the fluid hasn't disappeared by then. I hope it's gone before the scan, fingers crossed. Thank you for asking.

ClubSandwich · 24/06/2023 05:48

Thanks so much @Comfort2000 xx

Glad to see you’ve got a plan of action in place for the next cycle, as frustrating as it is that this one was cancelled. I’ll keep everything crossed that your fluid is gone ❤️ xx

@ClubSandwich hello there. Just checking on you. How did your FET go?
I was finally able to have my transfer yesterday. The fluid had completely gone. I'm officially in my TWW.

Best wishes for us all.

ClubSandwich · 17/08/2023 14:30

Hey @Comfort2000 - congrats on being PUPO! I’m so glad the fluid had gone and you were able to go ahead with a FET, that’s great news. Hopefully that little emby will be making itself snug and at home!

My FET was successful! I’m almost 11 weeks now 😊 thanks for checking in.

Keep me posted on how you’re getting on in the TWW - are you working, or keeping busy? It’s sooooo hard not to overthink and google everything. Wishing you LOTS of luck

Comfort2000 · 17/08/2023 14:43

@ClubSandwich Wow this is great news. Congratulations on your pregnancy💃 I'm really happy for you.

The TWW is not easy. I was off work yesterday for the transfer but resuming today. I work nights and it could be stressful sometimes. I'll try my best possible to stay away from stressful activities at work.

Hahaha😁 I was just on google when your message popped up. It's so hard to avoid googling every sign and symptom of implantation even though I know it's too early🤣.

Wishing you all the best in your pregnancy journey and I can't wait to join you🙈. I'll continue to update you and I'll also appreciate any advice to survive the TWW and also Do's and Don'ts that you think might have helped you during your TWW ❤️Xx

ClubSandwich · 17/08/2023 15:15

Thanks so much @Comfort2000 - I really hope you’ll be joining me as a pregnancy buddy soon!!

Before this transfer, I read that exercise/being active helps blood flow to the womb, so I purposely stayed quite busy during my TWW this time around - lots of long walks, gentle yoga/pilates, and then social meets with friends/family to keep me busy and away from google all day every day 😆

In contrast, during my TWW for the failed transfer I was much more relaxed, taking it easy etc.

This time I’ve been on Lubion too, as well as the oestrogen and cyclogest - are you also on extra progesterone? I only had to have the Lubion because my progesterone test came back so low before the transfer.

I also ate pineapple everyday, and drank pineapple juice too 🙈 I know it’s one of those implantation myths but it just made me feel like I was doing something to help!

When is your official test day? Will you test early or hold out until the set day? Xx

OP posts:
Comfort2000 · 17/08/2023 18:20

@ClubSandwich I had a failed transfer in 2021 and I was told to relax all through the TWW, no bending, no house chores and so on.. I think I'll also try to get myself a little busy this time.

I'm on progesterone pessaries, oestrogen tablets, vitamin D, folic acid and aspirin (they complained about blood flow to my uterus on the scan before the transfer). They didn't test any of my hormones before the transfer and that makes me a little bit worried. I'll just hope for the best.

Hahaha, the pineapple wouldn't be a bad thing to try. I really want to do something to help as well.

My official test date is on the 28th. I've been telling myself I'll try not to test early but I don't trust myself🙈

ClubSandwich · 17/08/2023 22:28

@Comfort2000 sorry to hear about your failed cycle in 2021 - interesting you were told to relax and no chores etc.

It’s difficult really because I’m sure there’s nothing we can do to influence the outcome, but at the same time it just feels comforting to try something a bit different the second / third time etc so it kinda feels like you’re doing something to help!

Definitely hope for the best, I hope OTD will be here before you know it and will be the good news we both hope 😊❤️

OP posts:
ClubSandwich · 23/08/2023 12:23

@Comfort2000 hey, how are you getting on? 🤞🏼 hope everything is going okay and the TWW is going fast for you. 5 days until OTD, I’m crossing everything for you!

OP posts:
Comfort2000 · 23/08/2023 16:14

Hello @ClubSandwich thanks for checking in.

I've been struggling to hold out till OTD🥺 so I tested this afternoon. I'm 7dp5dt today and I saw a positive line😊. It came up within the normal time and was very clear.

I hope the line gets darker. Fingers crossed until OTD

ClubSandwich · 23/08/2023 18:13

@Comfort2000 oh that’s amazing news, really happy to read that! Hope it continues to get darker 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼

Thank you @ClubSandwich will continue to update you.

How are you getting on in your pregnancy? Wishing you a stress free journey🙏🏽

ClubSandwich · 23/08/2023 21:57

@Comfort2000 I’m alright thank you. Very anxious due to past experiences, trying so much to be hopeful and think positive but most days the anxiety niggles away until I’ve convinced myself I’m not pregnant. I’ve had 3 scans, the latest at 10+2 and seen baby wriggling away, measuring bang on, I’ve had no bleeding or pain so far, and I’m so nauseous, so all amazing signs but self preservation I think is keeping me from believing it. Hoping once I’ve had my dating scan I might calm down a bit and stop feeling so anxious!

Hello @ClubSandwich How're you doing and how are you you getting on with your pregnancy. I hope your pregnancy symptoms are treating you nicely☺️

Just thought to update you. I did another test today as it's OTD and it was a strong positive. I've given the clinic my result and they've booked me for a scan on Sept 14.

I hope things continue to go smoothly for us🙏🏽. Lots of love with your upcoming dating scan❤️

ClubSandwich · 28/08/2023 11:04

Massive congratulations @Comfort2000 please keep me posted on how you get on for your scan, not too long to wait but I’m sure it will feel forever! Hope it goes fast for you ❤️

OP posts:
Comfort2000 · 28/08/2023 12:49

Thank you😘😘😘 @ClubSandwich

The 3wks wait feels so long. The fact that I haven't had any noticeable symptoms for some days makes it hard, lol 😁 but I want to stay positive about everything.

I will surely continue to update you.

Comfort2000 · 14/09/2023 13:41

Hey @ClubSandwich How're you and baby doing? I hope all is going great for you 😊

I had my scan today and everything seemed fine. Baby had a really nice heartbeat and measured 6w4d instead of 6w6d. I've been officially discharged from the IVF clinic now.
Just thought to update you xxx
