Waiting for PGT-A results

Hi
I am completely new here. I’ve just gone through my first round of IVF and I have to say, my partner and I were blindsided with how much it actually affects and impacts your life! Egg collection was 9 days ago and I’m pretty much feeling back to normal now.
I’m 42, 22 mature eggs were collected, 11 survived to day 3 and 6 survived to day 5/6 blastocyst stage. These have been frozen and samples have been sent for PGT-A testing. So now we have a TWW and not for a pregnancy test, to tell us if they are chromosomal normal. Just wondering if anyone else is in the same situation?
fertility wise, the issue is a thin lining due to a copper coil. Very annoying 😔

sadly we just found out all of ours are abnormal. We are completely devastated.

@Cally1980 lots of hugs and support 🥺❤️

I am new, 41 and ttc baby number 3, currently having 4th chemical pregnancy since last year.. looks like quality is bad even if they say hormones and reserve very good. I am starting the first IVF cycle in August, with testing...so going through all the comments and trying to get emotionally ready ... but not sure it works
I will be back here soon

Sending you a big hug @Cally1980.
I am so sorry to hear the results wasn’t in your favour.
I completely understand how you feel as I experienced the same thing with my first and second round of IVF. I know it is a lot to process and there will be a lot of emotions too, but do not lose hope!
have you managed to book a followup with your consultant?

Hi @Bellwells im too sad to face them, I’m signed off work sick and we can’t afford to do it all again. We borrowed from friends and relatives to pay for this one and we are just so sad. Right now I just feel like I’m grieving the 4 we had. I can’t think of doing it all again.

Cally1980 · 20/06/2023 19:01

And thank you all for your support :)

I completely understand @Cally1980 and your right you definitely are in a state of grief and you have every reason to be. Some people claim it is silly to grieve, but they are wrong embryo loss is still hard and it still hurts!
Please be easy on yourself, I’m thinking of you x

Dear @Cally1980 I'm so sorry to hear your sad news. I have no words of comfort, it just feels like such a very sad thing. Thinking of you.

b0zza1 · 23/06/2023 11:46

Hi @Cally1980 Hope you are bearing the pain okay. It's hard to know what to say. One of the embryollogists said to me 'they were not programmed to survive' and for some reason I found that reassuring. The other thing that my consultant spoke about was how one of the factors is how the gametes go together. We often look at male factor or blame ourselves for low egg quality, which can be factors, but I thought it was interesting that this was another angle. Apologies if none of this is helpful and please disregard! Just wanted you to know you're being thought of.

I’m having my first egg collection next month after suffering miscarriages and now suspected endometriosis which I believe has affected my egg quality and AMH. I’m terrified of PTGA testing and weather will have any blasts to test. 37 years old and trying for our first. This is honestly so horrible. Any advice for trying to cope / stay positive? Xx

CR7 · 23/07/2023 18:50

@LAURAPAX sadly there is no magic answer I'm so sorry. You have to take this journey day by day.

My amh is really low at 2.3 (last time I tested) but I did get some embryos through pgta.

Sending you lots of luck x

TT82 · 23/08/2023 06:56

@Thinkinhappythoughts hi, how are you doing? Have you done more PGTA testing? Hoping for good news! 🙏

I have finished 1st EC - 8 collected, all fertilised and 4 were tested for PGTA. Waiting time 4-6w unfortunately.. We are doing second EC after first natural bleed, not sure if I get results by then. Dr wants to increase the dose as she expected more, but I worry about quality..
