Hello,

Just looking for anyone who had a successful round of IVF and now considering baby #2 with frozen embryos?

Yes this is me, had my fet today!

LivingonaPrayerandGin · 09/03/2023 18:17

Oh I'm so glad to find someone!! How was it? Congrats!! How old is your baby #1? Where are you located?

Hello, I have had a successful round of ivf and have 3 embryos from that batch. My son will be 2 in June. I am hoping to do FET when he around 3.

Are you considering FET?

beachbum85 · 10/03/2023 00:18

Hi, we also had a successful round of ICSI - my son from the fresh transfer will be 1 in May and we have 2 frosties from that round. It's still a bit early for us to be thinking of a FET but I'm also acutely aware that neither of the 2 might work and we'd have to go for another EC, so don't want to leave it too long.

Very best of luck @Cookiecrush x

LivingonaPrayerandGin · 10/03/2023 06:00

@beachbum85 it's a tough one isn't it! You don't want to rush it... or leave it too late in a sense! Everyone says you're more fertile after the first round that I dint want to risk losing that or wondering "if we started sooner" and also don't want to pin my hopes on one frozen emby 😩

@SantoPalo that's great you have a few chances! Yes I'd definitely like to try but I'd know idea that because we now have a baby from the first round, the next will literally cost thousands! I thought I could use the remaining embryos as they were from the "free" round, that it would have little costs!

Hey ladies

All the best to all of you!

I had FET 2021, I have a 15 months old daughter. I only have 1 embryo to transfer which I'm looking to transfer this month. Let's hope for the best!

beachbum85 · 15/03/2023 17:47

@LivingonaPrayerandGin exactly that!
So far my period hasn't returned so no choice but to wait. I think once it's back and regular, I will want to try again right away though...

@Zus very best of luck! When will you transfer?
@Cookiecrush hope you're coping OK with the TWW x

Does anyone here know the difference between private and self-funded treatment, please? Apart from the price 😅

Zus · 15/03/2023 21:53

@beachbum85 hey, I have a scan next Monday and if all good, then transfer on 28th March.

I did fully private so not sure about the difference.

LivingonaPrayerandGin · 16/03/2023 09:19

@beachbum85 oh I was one of the "lucky" ones who's AF returned bang in 4 weeks after birth 😅 we didn't BF though... any idea what private costs? I've been quoted 3-3.5k to use my remaining embryo via NHS. Shocked was an understatement!

@Zus keeping everything crossed for you! What did you need to do before the scan, meds or injections? I've genuinely no idea how it works!

@Cookiecrush how are you feeling? Half way there 🤞🤞

@LivingonaPrayerandGin Hey Hun, my last FET was completely different to this one. Last time, we had a scan on day 2 of my cycle. Then start down regulate injection and estrogen for 2 weeks, another scan after 2 weeks to check if the lining is thick enough for the transfer. Once all ok then start progesterone for the 5 days then transfer on the 6th day. Trigger injection on the 5th day.

This time it was completely different. They advised that last year in UK suprecur (down regulate injection/medicine) was almost out of stock and they have tried it without the injection for FET patient and it worked. So they are continuing that unless if you have severe issues with fertility.

Therefore, I have stared only estrogen for 2 weeks no injection at all, scan on Monday to see if the lining is thick enough, Then start progesterone for 1 week, then transfer! I don't know how it will work so I'm just keeping myself positive but deep inside me I'm nervous!

All the best to you and lots of baby dust 💖💖

beachbum85 · 18/03/2023 00:49

Thanks for sharing @Zus and good luck for Monday's scan! 🤞🏼 I can totally understand the nerves... But staying positive is the only thing you can really do
Does no trigger mean it's a natural cycle?

@LivingonaPrayerandGin does that include medication? We were quoted around £1500 without meds for an NHS self-funded FET.

Zus · 18/03/2023 00:58

@beachbum85 hi hun, thank you 💗 it is medicated cycle but only using estrogen tablets and progesterone vaginally. That's why I'm a bit nervous this time but as you said! Keeping positive vibe is the only thing that I can do!

All the best to you 💝

Crazydoglady123 · 21/03/2023 22:54

Hey, my ivf baby is 14 months. We tried a FET round when she was 11 months old and had a CP. We have just finished another FET and do have a stronger positive but my HCG levels I don't feel so confident about but scan is next week so not long to wait.

IVF for another baby feels totally different. I went in to my clinic with such different emotions and actually more relaxed knowing the process. I have found the rounds have taken more of a toll on me though with my baby to look after too but possibly because this round they've had me on such high doses

Cookiecrush · 29/03/2023 08:18

@LivingonaPrayerandGin hey how is it going? Where abouts are you at in the process?

AfterGlow87 · 29/03/2023 10:59

Hi all!
Hope you don’t mind me joining in. I had my little boy from an FET in 2021 and have started meds last week for my second FET, hoping to have the transfer around the Easter bank holiday 🤞 I’m not loving the injections again, how quickly I forgot what they were like 😅

Zus · 04/04/2023 09:54

Hey Ladies

I have a good news to share! I'm on day 7 of my FET and I saw the two magical pink lines! Yes, it's positive ❤️

Wishing everyone lots of baby dust 💞❤️

beachbum85 · 04/04/2023 12:07

Huge congratulations @Zus ! Amazing news and you must be over the moon, thanks for sharing with us 🌟

@Crazydoglady123 I really hope all is going smoothly and you got positive news from your scan x

@AfterGlow87 very best of luck for your transfer this weekend! 🤞🏼

Zus · 04/04/2023 20:08

@beachbum85 hey thanks Hun 😘 yes I'm excited but I have long way to go so wishing everything to go smooth this time .

All the best ❤️ baby dust to you all 💕

AfterGlow87 · 04/04/2023 21:11

Congrats @Zus! Lovely news :) I’m booked in for Friday this week, work keeping me busy in the meantime. I’ve had to take a HCG trigger for this cycle so will be less inclined to test early incase of a false positive - I’m a awful early tester usually 😶

Hope everyone else doing well

Zus · 04/04/2023 21:32

@AfterGlow87 Hey Hun, thank you very much. All the best for Friday. I'm keeping everything crossed for you 😊

We all are doing well 🙂 hope all is well with you. It's good to keep yourself busy so you don't think much about it. Only 2 more days to go! Lots of baby dust to you ❤️

Crazydoglady123 · 06/04/2023 18:35

Hey ladies,

I had my scan and everything was looking good and heard the heartbeat. Still feeling very nervous though and no symptoms isn't helping (although I've felt tired the last two days but with a 14 month old that's teething and I've had a cold who knows what's what) I don't think I'll relax though until I've passed the 12 week mark.

Good luck testing tomorrow @AfterGlow87

Congratulations @Zus

beachbum85 · 07/04/2023 12:18

@Crazydoglady123 sounds really positive! I can totally understand the nerves but it sounds like there's no need to be worried... Here's hoping 12w comes round quickly 😊

@AfterGlow87 good luck with your transfer today! Let us know how you're feeling x

@Zus and everyone else, hope you're doing well!

AfterGlow87 · 07/04/2023 14:25

@Crazydoglady123 Glad your scan was good! I hope the next few weeks come in quickly for you.

Transfer done and dusted! They said it had nearly fully hatched so fingers crossed 🤞 Having cramps now, I can’t remember whether I had them this early the last time but I’m sure it’s normal enough? Off to get some McDonalds chips and put my feet up 😊

Cookiecrush · 16/04/2023 09:19

Hey everyone, Just wondering how everyone is getting on!

@zus and @Crazydoglady123 congratulations on your positives I hope they continue to go well! Are you both starting to have symptoms?

I also had positive bloods and a great heartbeat scan - we are so happy! Our first trimester scan is the end of may, 🤞.

I also wondered if anyone is still breastfeeding their first like me? My doctor and I couldn't find any studies to suggest that it impacts IVF, but I know that some clinics don't allow it. Does anyone else have experience of this?

Zus · 16/04/2023 10:11

@Cookiecrush hey Hun, congratulations 🎊👏 you must be happy and relaxed 😎

My scan is on the 27th April which sounds too far hahaha 🤣

I stopped breastfeeding when my girl is 3 months. Actually I haven't stopped it, she stopped having breast milk so I started Aptamil. I don't think it will affect but better check with doctor.

How many weeks are you in now?
