Hello,

Just looking for anyone who had a successful round of IVF and now considering baby #2 with frozen embryos?

@Cookiecrush huge congratulations! That's amazing 🙂
I don't know much about the breastfeeding issue (I'm trying to wean at the moment, to get my cycle back), but I did come across this Facebook group with lost of info: Breastfeeding Mums undergoing Fertility Treatment/IVF
May I ask which clinic/doctor was fine with your FET whilst breastfeeding? I'm glad to hear they were supportive, and it was successful! 🎉

@AfterGlow87 almost fully hatched is great! Very best of luck! I had cramps all throughout the tww with my successful transfer... I hope you're managing to relax and stay sane 😅when's testing day?

@Zus 27th April will be here before you know it! How are you feeling?

I hope everyone else is well x

@Cookiecrush congratulations on your scan! I see to work at a clinic and some doctors were fine with BF during IVF once your prolactin level came back normal. It can depend on the doctor I think.

I tested yesterday at 9dp5dt and I got a lovely strong line on a FRER so I’m absolutely delighted 😊Ive very little symptoms though which is kind of freaking me out but I know it’s too early! BHCG booked for Thursday 🤞

beachbum85 · 17/04/2023 14:11

Ohhh congratulations @AfterGlow87 what great news!! Very happy for you! Best of luck for the bloods x

KLM25 · 18/04/2023 09:06

Hi ladies, hope you don’t mind me joining.
We had our son in May 2021 from my very first transfer - we were very lucky. We’ve been trying for a sibling for the last year but unfortunately have not been so lucky this time round!

Our story in a nutshell, I met my fiancé when I was 43, so when we decided to try for a baby, I had a few tests to check my egg reserve etc but we ended up going straight to donor eggs due to my age.

We still had two frozen embies from that first cycle, so we started to try again when my son was 11 months. Long story short, I’ve had one CP and 3 BFNs since then, plus a laparoscopy last Aug to remove a hydrosalpinx and left Fallopian tube. We started a cycle with a new donor in January which resulted in 5 embryos.

I’m just taking Norethisterone to regulate my cycle and then hopefully an FET next month, it’ll be my last one with this clinic as I’m reaching the age limit for the Czech Republic. We’ll still have 2 embryos left after that, so we’re looking into moving them to a clinic in Spain if we have no luck with this FET.

It’ll be great to speak to others who already have a child - I sometimes feel a bit awkward talking about it as obviously we’re so lucky to have our son. We would just love to give him a brother or sister.

I also worry that I’m doing too much after a transfer - my OH has been taking some time off work but it’s unsustainable as he doesn’t have enough a/l! My first transfer was in lockdown and we had to self-isolate for 2 weeks after we got home from Prague, so I did very little. Obviously this is impossible now ☺️❤️ How does everyone else handle the lifting etc? I keep telling myself it will make no difference to the outcome but I do find myself looking for posts of other toddler mothers who’ve had BFPs 🤦‍♀️ x

Zus · 18/04/2023 14:28

@beachbum85 Hey Hun, usually time flies for me but this 27tb April seems too far haha 🤣 'm happy I got BFP but I can't feel the happiness yet. Waiting for my scan 🤞🤞 I'm feeling ok, not taking enough rest as I need to spend time with daughter. How are you?

Zus · 18/04/2023 14:40

@KLM25 Hey welcome to the IVF boat ⛵

My story in short - I was pregnant for about 7 weeks and then it was an ectopic pregnancy and I also lost my right side of fallopian tube in 2019.

I had my first FET done in 2020, got BFP but unfortunately lost my son at 17 weeks.

I did another FET round in 2021. Got BFP again. I have my daughter who is 16 months old now. My pregnancy with my daughter was such a rollercoaster ride. Went on ambulance at least 4 times! Never enjoyed a single day as I always had issues but then I love the end part when I had my daughter in my arms.

Last month, 28th of August I did FET transfer (my last embryo). Got BFP and currently waiting for my scan on 27th of April. Which seems so far!

When I was pregnant with my daughter I was so relaxed, bed rest most of the time due to my cervix issue. This time, I have done the transfer on 28th of March and I'm up from the next day. I couldn't rest or relax as much as I did for my daughter.

My husband help me but he has work. I'm working from home and I'm struggling. I just resigned my job last week as it was too much for me. This time I don't think I can rest but trying to get rest when she goes to sleep. I have to be there for her as well as she has no idea of what I'm going through haha 🤣 I know how you feel! I'm with you!

This is my last embryo so I really hope all goes well with this pregnancy. I also want a sibling for my daughter.

KLM25 · 18/04/2023 18:57

@zus I’m so pleased to hear about your BFP ❤️😊 It sounds like you’ve had a tough time with lots of struggles, I’m sorry to hear about that. I’ll keep everything crossed that things continue to progress well with this pregnancy! You give me hope that a BFP is possible even whilst looking after a toddler!
I think I’m just a bit paranoid as my doctor has said to avoid heavy lifting and just said ‘have you got an easier question’ with a wry smile when I asked about lifting my son 😂

Hope time flies until your scan on the 27th. I know how long a wait that seems.

I’ve got a baseline scan on Thursday this week, hoping everything is ok in there! Aiming for a transfer on May 11th which is a few days before our son turns 2, so not much rest will be had that weekend 🥳 but my partner will be off work so he will be able to help ❤️😊 x

Zus · 19/04/2023 11:08

@KLM25 Hi Hun,

Thank you, yes I hope the time flies until my scan! Can't wait!

Good luck for tomorrow. May be you can lift your child while you sit down in sofa (do basically you are not actually lifting). That's how I carry my daughter as I don't want to carry her for longer time so I sit down in sofa and hug her. Something like this lol 🤣🤣 we need to manage both babies x

KLM25 · 20/04/2023 08:40

Thanks @Zus, yes I suppose it’s all about minimising the lifting if you can. If everything goes to plan with the dates, then my OH will be off work for 6 days afterwards and can lift our little boy out of his cot, high chair, car seat etc. Then I’ll just have to hope for the best! I’ve started to think that you can’t control everything so there’s no point worrying.
Thankyou, yes baseline scan this afternoon so we’ll see how that goes.
Hope you’re feeling ok x

Zus · 20/04/2023 16:12

@KLM25 Hey hun, hope your baseline scan went well today.

Yes, you can't control everything, especially with little kid who doesn't understand what we are going through at the moment. We have to be there for the child also, plus the baby in our tummy haha 😆 you're right, do minimum lifting, you'll be fine 🤞🤞

KLM25 · 21/04/2023 13:28

@Zus Thankyou, yes it went well yesterday 😊 Nothing unusual to report and I specifically asked if there was any fluid in there (it’s been mentioned on lining scans in the past and has worried me), the sonographer said no, none at all, so I was pleased about that.
The other good thing was that my clinic got back to me within half an hour of me sending the report and images, to say that it was all fine, so I didn’t have to wonder and worry!
So now I’m waiting for my period to start and then I can start the medication again.
Hope you’re doing ok and getting some rest! Does your daughter have a nap in the day? Xx

Zus · 21/04/2023 15:49

@KLM25 Hey Hun, wow that's amazing news! I'm so happy everything is going well. Once you get your period then you can start your journey 🤞🤞 All the best ☺️

Yes she has a nap after lunch around 2.30 to 4. So I relax during that time. It's hard to take time off for me with this little girl as I have to be there for her too. I'm somehow managing. Hope all goes well.

Lots of baby dust to you 💞

beachbum85 · 27/04/2023 15:55

Hi everyone! Hope you're all doing well x

@Zus I hope you've been managing to rest a bit and your scan went well today!

@KLM25 Great to hear your baseline went well!
I don't have any experience myself, but a lot of my friends were pregnant with toddlers. One is even pregnant now with toddler twins 😵It's tough for sure but they do a lot of lifting and it doesn't seem to have affected anything. But I definitely understand the worry and I hope the dates work out so your OH can help esepcially those first days.

Zus · 27/04/2023 17:03

@beachbum85 Hey Hun, had my scan today and got the worse news! It's a chemical pregnancy. Embryo didn't develop so I have to go to the local hospital tomorrow to do the next procedure. We didn't expect this news at all 😔😔

All the best everyone

KLM25 · 27/04/2023 19:32

Thankyou @Zus Thank god for nap time eh?! Hope you’re feeling ok and everything went well today ❤️

Thanks so much @beachbum85 You make me feel better. My rational mind tells me that people with toddlers get pregnant all the while.. I think it’s just a case of me worrying about everything and trying to find a reason why the last few transfers haven’t worked. This time I’m just going to carry on as normal as possible I think and not stress too much. As @Zus says so wisely, both babies need you ❤️ and I wouldn’t have it any other way 😊

My period started in the night on Monday so I started my medication Tues 🙌 All my alarms are going off again to remind me ☺️ It’s a good job as I do find myself surprised sometimes when my phone starts beeping at 2pm for the estradiol dose! I managed to book a lining scan for next Friday 5th, so they’ll look at that and then hopefully set a date for transfer 🤞
It’s our little boy’s 2nd birthday the weekend of the 14th and then my OH is on his stag do the weekend after but they’ve reassured me that they can arrange it around those! May’s turning out to be quite busy ☺️ x

beachbum85 · 28/04/2023 09:15

@Zus I'm so, so sorry darling 💔😢 I hope the procedure goes smoothly but take care of yourself... sending you lots of love and warm hugs 😘

beachbum85 · 28/04/2023 09:19

@KLM25 great to hear you've started! Very exciting! Sounds like a very busy month but maybe better to keep yourself distracted and not worry too much?! 😅

Zus · 28/04/2023 09:24

@beachbum85 Thank you Hun ❤️

Zus · 28/04/2023 09:26

Hey ladies,

As I mentioned above my transfer was successful but it was a chemical pregnancy. Just wanted to know if anyone experienced chemical pregnancy and what was the reason. How long you have to wait for next IVF journey.

Thanks all

KLM25 · 28/04/2023 14:11

Oh @Zus I’m so very sorry 😘 I only just saw your post. Sending lots of love to you, it must have been a horrible shock.

I had a chemical pregnancy last May. It was a little bit different - I found out because I had two Beta Hcg blood tests and the numbers dropped right down on the second one, plus I had some spotting. I found out at about 5/6 weeks so slightly earlier. Tbh I found it very hard to get any information on what to do, as my clinic is abroad and we don’t have an EPU at either of my local hospitals. I remember I felt like I was in a bit of a limbo. I ended up calling the midwife advice line who were lovely and booked me in for an appt at the hospital the next day. They did a scan and there was no residual tissue. My clinic were happy for me to try again as soon as I wanted to.
I think I started the protocol for another FET in the July but then they found a hydrosalpinx so that delayed me a bit.
I never found out why I had the chemical pregnancy. It could have been due to the hydrosalpinx or maybe the embryo just wasn’t viable, no-one knew.
Not sure if any of that helps you but please know I’m thinking of you and hoping you’re ok x

KLM25 · 28/04/2023 14:14

@beachbum85 Thank you. Yes you’re quite right, it’s good to be busy and it might stop me looking up #4dp5dt etc on Instagram every day 🤦‍♀️ I’m a terrible googler ☺️ X

beachbum85 · 27/06/2023 16:13

Hi ladies... I haven't been around here for a while but I was thinking of you and hope you're all doing well and @KLM25 I hope everything went smoothly in May for you 😘

I was referred back to our clinic for an FET last month and was told it's a 3-4 month wait. Stopped breastfeeding around the same time, but no cycles yet, so it's still very much a waiting game here.

KLM25 · 28/06/2023 09:33

Hi @beachbum85 good to hear from you 😊 We’ve had a few twists and turns since May I’m afraid to say! Par for the course I suppose. My transfer in May was cancelled after fluid was spotted in my uterus at my day 11 scan. One of the Ultrasound Direct sonographers also reported a notch in my c section scar so we decided to investigate that before going any further.
I’ve been seeing a consultant in London who specialises in c section defects and the good news was that he said it didn’t need repairing, but he did suggest doing a dummy cycle with Emma/Alice/Era testing so I’m currently on day 12 of that! I’m just sitting on Marylebone High Street with a coffee waiting for my second scan 😊
We can’t go back to our previous clinic in Prague as I’m too old now but we’re just looking into clinics in Spain and Greece to hopefully transport our 3 embryos to one of those.
So we’re a bit like you, still waiting and trying to stay positive. I’m half hoping these tests come back clear, but the other half of me wishes there was a clear reason for what is wrong!
I hope your period comes soon, it’s like a watched pot isn’t it 😏 At least if there’s a wait at the clinic anyway, things will probably all coincide at the right time for you 🤞 x

LivingonaPrayerandGin · 30/06/2023 17:01

Hi ladies,

So sorry I started this thread and then went AWOL! We decided we'll wait a little longer before we start IVF again, and at least see if we conceive naturally. What made you all decide the age gap was right between your first to start IVF again??

OP posts:
beachbum85 · 18/07/2023 22:45

@KLM25 I'm so sorry to hear about your cancelled cycle... that must have been so frustrating! How did your testing go? I hope you've got some answers that help you decide what to do next 🤞

My period came in the meantime (and surprisingly painfree when I really suffered before, so it got me thinking something might be wrong in my uterus, when probably I should just be enjoying it!) AND we just got a call from our clinic last week (a couple of months earlier than expected) and will have a consultation 1 August. So things seem to be happening already...

@LivingonaPrayerandGin more than thinking about the age gap, I'm just conscious of my age and worried that 2 frozen embryos might not be enough and we'd have to do another egg collection, so I wouldn't like to leave that too late. My partner would like to wait a bit longer so we'll see what they tell us after our consultation and tests, and we might postpone a bit and try naturally in the meantime.
