Just that really. I'm beyond the point of most IVFers at this stage and there aren't many of us around that seem to have to do multiple retrievals. Thought I'd start a new thread in case there's any other non-newbies in the same boat.

@HJen22 Oh, that's great! Just some more days! Once you start the time will move fast by. For me always the worst is to wait before you can start finally doing something. Really hope it will be sucsessful round for you and you will make some beautiful embabies and have your transfer If possible ☺️
Please keep me updated, I cheer for you!!

HJen22 · 23/01/2023 18:18

@VO27 yeah January has dragged a bit for sure waiting to start! Now I'm like come on let's go!

Sorry forgot to answer that part, yes all going well we'll do a transfer this cycle 🙏🏻 and I really hope bank another embryo or two! Fingers crossed. Still anxious going into it but I guess that's always the case, it doesn't really get any easier emotionally, I have cried over lots of random things the last week haha. Thank you so much, I will keep you updated and please do keep us updated with you 💕 I hope the next two weeks fly by to your scan! Sending all the love and positivity! X

VO27 · 23/01/2023 18:27

@HJen22 thank you so much! It is really calming and comforting to have possibility to share with someone who understands! ❤️ Will be waiting for your updates!

thislittlebird · 03/02/2023 13:25

@VO27 Congrats! Really good news! Gives me a little tiny bit of hope after our five failures but my age means the chances are slim now. I never knew how hard the wait beyond OTD would be until I did it, it was horrible. Every day felt like a year. But it didn’t end well for us so I didn’t have too long to suffer the waiting. Hopefully all well for you so far. X

@HJen22 hope your cycle will be starting soon. Or already started?

Nothing happening here, just had a pregnancy announcement today and it brought it all home again. We’re just in limbo and feels like we’ll never get to try again really. DH needs a wisdom tooth removed and possibly a varicocele op so we’re just twiddling our thumbs waiting around and we know there’s no chance naturally but we have to try I guess, despite how low the odds are. Feels like it won’t be possible again until the autumn when I’ve turned 40 :/

VO27 · 07/02/2023 13:52

@thislittlebird Hi! Nice to hear from you! Really sorry about your news..waiting is the worst part of infertility treatment. Are you sure there is no chance to start sooner than in autumn? It is really a long wait. Feel so sorry for your DH, it must be hard on him too.

@HJen22 how are you? How far is your cycle?

Today was a very special day for me. I saw it ❤️ my little baby. Heartbeat is regular, measures as 6+3 (ivf app told me it should be 6+6, but Dr didn't tell nothing beyond everything looks good), due date should be 27 Sept. I cried. Happy and very scared.

thislittlebird · 14/04/2023 11:12

Sorry for the delay @VO27

Glad all was well with your pregnancy when you last posted, hopefully everything Is still going well. I know how hard it is to believe it can work.

I’ve just had my third EC, fed up of them!

hope you’re well @HJen22

OP posts:
VO27 · 14/04/2023 11:20

@thislittlebird so nice to hear from you! How was your EC? Are you happy with the results? When is your ET?

I’m good, thank you. Currently 16+5, everything is good so far. 😊

thislittlebird · 14/04/2023 11:31

@VO27 that’s great news, really pleased for you! This was your fresh transfer from your third cycle?

Yeah, I’m happy so far. We got 14 eggs, 10 mature, 9 fertilised normally. So it’s the same as our first round roughly. But day 3-5 on our second round was when it all went to shit, so I’m really hoping we have something to transfer by Monday. I can’t say my hopes are high, but we shall see what the next few days brings.

Hi ladies, name change from HJen22

How are you both? That's wonderful news @VO27 congratulations 💗 how are you feeling? Will you find out the gender of baby at your next scan?

@thislittlebird I hope you get really good updates over the next few days, 9 fertilised is great! Do you plan a fresh transfer?

The last few months didn't go very to plan for us. My February cycle got cancelled after scan 1 on day 5. All the way down to Manchester to have to come home, was very disappointing. I had TSH and prolactin tested and prolactin came back high so had to have that retested. Finally re-tried cycle 2 at the end of March and we had our FIRST ever transfer on Monday 🥹 still feels very surreal. To be honest i am totally enjoying the hopeful bubble and am not wishing test day to come haha never thought I'd say that. Although I'm sure next week I will feel differently!

thislittlebird · 14/04/2023 11:45

@Jx3303 that’s great news, glad you finally got to do your transfer! Ugh the first week in the tww is a dream, the second is a bin fire lmao. Tbh I never wanted to test every time, I hate testing and dreaded that day coming round. I’ve had to do it 4 times now and only once has it been positive, which was a very brief positive.

Yeah, we’re planning to do a fresh and then PGT-A test any excess embryos. So at my age (40 soon) the odds aren’t in our favour that many/any will be normal.

OP posts:
VO27 · 14/04/2023 12:26

@thislittlebird yes, it was fresh transfer from my 3rd cycle. I have 11 frosties too, not sure what to do with them, I wasn’t ready for such outcome 🙂
Congratulations on great results! Hope embies will develop as needed and you will get decent number of them! And ofcourse hope for a fresh transfer! Keep me updated! Have everything crossed for you!

@Jx3303 nice to hear from you!
I actually already know that it is a girl. I had risk for trisomy 21 and had additional tests, so know for sure now.
Really pleased for you and will hold my fingers crossed for your transfer! Be sure to keep us updated! ☺️

thislittlebird · 18/04/2023 10:40

@VO27 11 is great, wish I had that to fall back on! We got 5 embryos, a 5AA was transferred, three are being PGT-A biopsied and one is frozen because it’s not great quality at 5CC. It’s hard to believe a different outcome is possible when you’ve failed so many times already!

OP posts:
thislittlebird · 18/04/2023 10:41

@VO27 lovely to hear you’re having a girl! Hopefully your next scan gets here soon.

OP posts:
VO27 · 18/04/2023 10:45

@thislittlebird fantastic news! ❤️ Congrats on being PUPO! How do you feel? When is your OTD?
5 is good amount of embies, hope PTG-A will be fine and you will have some nice frosties just in case.

thislittlebird · 18/04/2023 10:53

@VO27 thanks. I don’t feel much really, just sad because I never expect it to work now. Just dread the test day, which is next Wednesday. Every time I’ve had a transfer I’ve kinda known if it’s worked or not, the only time it worked (chemical) I could tell something was different.

PGT-A odds are pretty poor for my age really, so we’ll be lucky if one comes back ok. Have to just cross our fingers!

OP posts:
VO27 · 18/04/2023 11:14

@thislittlebird Don’t give up! I had 3 IUI-s and 9 transfers. Every time felt different, some times I was sure that it worked but it didn’t. Last time I didn’t have any feelings at all, nothing predicted positive outcome, but it worked - miracle for me 😊 Everything is possible!

thislittlebird · 18/04/2023 11:28

@VO27 yeah it is unpredictable, I just had a very different tww the one time it did work so I know I’ll expect to be out if it’s not like that again (nausea and implantation bleeding specifically). This is embryo 6 transferred!

Did you do anything differently the last time or just luck/good embryo do you think?

OP posts:
VO27 · 18/04/2023 11:51

@thislittlebird no, I did absolutely nothing this last time. Funny, but all previous transfers I did a lot of different stuff like high protein diet, pineapple core, pomgranate juice, no workouts, no coffee etc etc 😃 the only thing I did was taking folic acid, but I did it during all my transfers.
My last cycle I had different drugs, more expensive ones. And had much better outcome. Probably I had good embryo as in previous cycles I had mostly average embies.

Jx3303 · 18/04/2023 11:59

@thislittlebird congrats on being PUPO 💗 sending all the luck for those away tested!! I hope you are feeling ok, I know you've had a really rough time, I hope this time is your time x

@VO27 ah lovely a baby girl! How are you feeling? I hope well and enjoying the start of your pregnancy. Have you told family or waiting for a scan?

Well this week is certainly A LOT harder than last week! You were so right @thislittlebird last week was just surreal, this week the pending outcome is very real!! Trying not to notice every slight feeling. Staying positive and hopeful 🫶🏻 in the office today so that's a good distraction. I was so tired yesterday and anxious, I had to nap and do some yoga and meditation to take my mind off it!

I have managed to stay off google which I know has helped my mental health - I was so close yesterday but i knew it would do me no good! Really trying to remind myself I can't have done anything to change the outcome and I just have to stay positive xxx

VO27 · 18/04/2023 13:19

@Jx3303 congrats on being PUPO! When is your OTD? Will tou test earlier or just wait for the right day? TWW is awful… done it for 9 times.. just be strong and stay calm ❤️ have everything crossed for you!
I have already told family, closest friends and employers. Waited quite long, wasn’t feeling safe until 2nd trimester. At the moment it’s just matter of a week or two before everyone else notice - I’m quite big already and every day it gets much more difficult to hide my belly under the clothes 😅

Jx3303 · 18/04/2023 15:03

@VO27 sorry I got confused there and forgot you were past the first trimester and you're well into the pregnancy at 16 weeks and not just the start ❤️ aw are you enjoying the bump growing?

We haven't told anyone OTD but it's looming! We've opted to go for bloods at a clinic near us. If I lived local to my clinic they'd do it and we'd have the results same day, the clinic near us isn't so quick but I'm really hoping for next day. And they will send results to my clinic who will then call. I just like this idea better, and hope for a definitive answer. If I got a positive I think they'd want me to do bloods anyway so I wouldn't want the wait in between. Fingers crossed 🤞🏻

VO27 · 21/04/2023 05:17

@Jx3303 Yes, I do really enjoy my pregnancy now. ☺️ at the beginning it was really stressful - waited for ODT, then for early scan to see if there is heartbeat, then for first scan at the maternity center (they detected higher risk for trisomy 21, I has heartbroken and so worried), then for additional tests (which comfirmed that everything is good with my little girl), and now waiting for babys anatomy ultrasound in three weeks (makes me a little bit nervous again). Reminds me a lot of IVF times - you still have to wait, wait, wait 😂

How are you doing? TWW is hard… do you have any feeling? I didn’t, so positive bloods were a big surprise to me. Later I made I lot of hpt’s just to see those lines for the first time in my life and kept the one I made on my birthday (I got positive bloods just a few days before my birthday - best gift ever ❤️)
I send you lots if love, all my good thoughts and positive energy and emotions and really hope for the best outcome for you - you deserve it!! Stay strong!

@thislittlebird how are you doing? Almost half of the TWW is done, have any good feelings? Will you test before ODT or will wait and have bloods? Have my fingers crossed for you!!! ❤️

thislittlebird · 21/04/2023 07:22

@thislittlebird no, nothing good but anxiety really. I hate the tww and hate testing. They rarely offer bloods here, just regular pregnancy tests so you’re just told to do that on the day. I’m busy Wednesday and Tuesday next week with work so I’m quite worried about getting bad news while work is busy. Almost tempted to wait until after work on OTD rather than risk being upset and calling in sick.

How did it go @thislittlebird . I’m yet to find a normal embryo so may be gearing up for another retrieval next month.
