IVF/ICSI Dec 2022

Hi, I couldn’t find a board for those starting IVF OR ICSI in December so thought I’d create one.
This will be our first round and we are due to have our egg collection on the 5th of December. I’m not sure how dates usually work but not having regular periods I need to take Provera the second week in November which I think makes it easier for them as the medicine will result in a bleed and our baseline scan should be 7 days after starting on the medication.

Would love to see if anyone else is due to start ICSI or IVF in December.

@Miche243 I'm so sorry you had a bad experience with your clinic here - so frustrating, especially when you're paying. But glad you've done what's best for you and moved away from there now. And it's great that you're booked to start things at the end of the month, and then not too long to wait to start the cycle - I've really got everything crossed for you 🙏🤞

@Miche243 sounds like it is the right decision to go elsewhere if you are no longer confident with the clinic you were with. How frustrating that they didn't perform the screening that could have helped. I hope you will a much better experience and outcome in Cyprus xx

Oh guys, I clearly have no willpower.... I took a test this morning (10 days post 5dt) and it was positive! Woohoo! I am being realistic about it though as I know its far from being a done deal. Just my impatience getting the best of me 😅 I will let you know in a few days time how things are looking.

Hope you don't mind me jumping on here? I'm 36 from Belfast northern Ireland me and my husband were ttc for 2 years and took the leap this year. This is my first round, we are going isci.

I'm due my egg collection tomorrow, I've just the 2 follicles so I'm hoping and praying it will work out! It only takes one egg that's what I'm telling myself.

Took my trigger last night, feel tired and nausea last night but just keep telling myself it will be worth it!

Welcome @Marialeonie good luck for egg collection tomorrow, as you say it only takes one! It’s such an emotional and physical journey we are all on so take care and rest up! I hope you’ve got the week off to take it easy!

just a little update on me, I’m seven days post transfer and have some slight cramping and spotting! Fingers crossed it just implantation bleeding - trying to stay as positive as possible!

I'm having some spotting and cramping this morning at 5dp5dt, but I'm worried mine might be the start of my period coming early. I have a short luteal phase so it wouldn't be uncommon for my period to start 10/11 days after ovulation, and it often starts exactly like this for me. Praying it's implantation, but feels very much like the start of my period 😔

Hey @Pwdin and @kamaha, that's me done and home. A wee bit tender but all good. Only the one egg 😥 but just trying to say positive. Fingers crossed. If not then just see what the next steps are

Glad it's all done @Marialeonie 🥰 As my nurse told me, it just takes one good egg and one good sperm for the chance of a pregnancy, so definitely keep positive. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for you over the next few days. Now time to take it easy and get lots of rest xxx

@Pwdin @kamaha got a call from the consultant, not the news we wanted to hear 😥 our egg didn't fertilise. Just wasn't our time

@kamaha it’s so difficult to stay positive, mine is now starting to feel and be a bit more like my period too. Fingers crossed for the both of us that it’s not and we are just overthinking it a bit too much xxx

Definitely difficult to stay positive in all this and I think my spotting is heavier today 😢I've also got my usual pre-period headache, so it definitely doesn't feel like it's heading in a good direction here! How are you doing today @Cathy290? Hopefully things are better for you 🤞🙏

@kamaha it really is! I’m on full blown period mode now - it’s horrible but ended up speaking to my mum about it and she said she was the same when she was pregnant with me so I’m staying as hopeful as I can 🥰

Try not to worry / overthink and take each day as they come, although in my experience time seems to have stood still for these past two weeks, so easier said than done! Like your mum says Cathy, it could be a good sign! 🤞 Keep us posted xx

I have felt very lightheaded today. I did another test this morning and can see the line is stronger than it was on Saturday so hopefully a good sign. No plan for me yet. My proper date to test is Thursday but I think tomorrow I will ring up the clinic and make my confession. Out of pure shame I'm probably going to confess to eating all of my advent calendar too 😂🙈
