Anyone post-transfer/in 2WW?

Hello!

I'm currently 4dp5dt with our last ever embryo. Already have a 3 year old DD from our second round of ICSI and it's been a long road since.

Just wondered if anyone else was out there in the 2WW and fancied keeping each other company?!!

@MariaMc1 a trip away sounds like an amazing idea!!! Why sit home when you can be somewhere lovely.

Cramping and spotting are unnerving but shouldn't mean anything bad and could mean something good. If you are on a high enough dose of progesterone then you shouldn't get your period even if it hasn't worked.

Haven't checked the bleeding yet today - too scared to go to the loo!!!

I'm going to do bloods today and repeat Monday.

I'm not going to do any more home tests because I want to stay in my bubble. I have had a lot of chemicals before including from my last euploid so won't be celebrating anything for a long time yet but it is nice to still be in the game at least. I was really convinced it would be a straight negative.

@MariaMc1 about testing: I think it depends on your perspective. If you test early there's a chance it would be negative but still turn positive later. Clinics prefer later tests to avoid finding out about early chemicals I think. If you test later you do get a clearer result.

Personally I want to know if I had a chemical even tho it is upsetting so I prefer to find out but it can cause stress. Maybe you can compromise with DH and test on Monday?

Btw I just re-read an old message to you and realise my stupid autocorrect changed my reassuring "I don't think Covid would be a problem" to "I do my think Covid would be a problem" which isn't reassuring at all!!! Sorry. Stupid autocorrect - why my phone changes perfectly good works to nonsense I've no idea! For clarify I DON'T think Covid after transfer is an issue!

I'm.11 dpt and started bleeding (In a way) since 5 days after, similar it sounds to @Staceyttc . dont feel good today, I'm actually finding it quite hard today to not feel really bloody angry about it , worried I've lost a perfectly good embryo just due to clinic refusing to test progesterone.

also angry and frustrated and having to sit in this awful limbo for 8 long days, waiting for my beta test to confirm the inevitable and start the process all over again.

Imisscoffee2021 · 10/09/2022 21:06

@catchthedog I sympathise, I just started bleeding today. I'm on 2 x 200 progesterone twice a day and mentioned to my clinic I have naturally low progesterone but I think even that 800 daily wasn't enough. I had really good optimal lining and a 5AA embryo, so it's a disappointment, but we were prepared as have had so many knocks in TTC bad news seems inevitable now!

Imisscoffee2021 · 10/09/2022 21:06

Forgot to say I'm 7dp5dt

Imisscoffee2021 · 10/09/2022 21:08

@Staceyttc I do wonder if its progesterone for me too, as I've been getting faint lines on frer that darkened this morning, but faded on a 4 hour hold this late afternoon.

sanjanapatil · 10/09/2022 23:04

@lucymills1234 I am even on TWW and have seen light pink bleeding on 9dp and I am not sure what that means. It was kind of like a one-off and very light.

I am on cyclogest pessaries twice a day. Even I am worried about what the result may be to avoid disappointment as it is my 2nd cycle and my 1st cycle failed.

Janefx40 · 10/09/2022 23:10

@Imisscoffee2021 I really hope that the fading was just because it was a different time of day. Everyone is different - some people get stronger tests with FMU, some with second wee some in afternoons.

Will your clinic increase your progesterone if you ask? I just took more than they told me too but I was able to as I had some left over at home from previous rounds. I'll have to confess this week if things continue as I'll run out on Saturday and they won't know how much to prescribe.

They prescribed me 2 x 400mg cyclogest and then wanted to add in 2 Lubion. I've been taking 3 x Lubion and 3 x cyclogest. I definitely went rogue!!! But it's my last ever embryo and I didn't want to take a chance.

@catchthedog welcome. Light bleeding doesn't necessarily mean anything bad. Lots of people bleed in early pregnancy (I know that is true but I've totally been panicking at my own bleeding so I do get it!).

I realise I'm a bad influence but I went and did an Hcg blood test today that I booked myself. I'm near London so it's pretty easy to find but I'm sure you could get one in any major city if you really want to do bloods.

Totally get feeling angry about it all. IVF is so shit!

@sanjanapatil welcome. Are you taking your cyclogest vaginally? It's really common to get bleeding if you do. I read something today that said 90% of women taking cyclogest vaginally get some bleeding. You could try taking it rectally. Once you get used to doing it, it is much easier. Xxx

sanjanapatil · 11/09/2022 00:01

@Janefx40 Thanks. Yh I take pessaries vaginally. I will try taking it rectally its another 5 days for my OTD. So, let' see

Imisscoffee2021 · 11/09/2022 06:11

@Janefx40 thank you but bleeding is darker this morning and only getting the faintest squinter on a frer so it's game over for this cycle, ir was my first so I wasnt expecting a positive but couldn't help hope with a 5AA and good mining. We have five on ice so hopefully a frozen cycle takes! X

MariaMc1 · 11/09/2022 07:29

@Janefx40 I tested this morning 9dp5dt and it’s a clear positive , we’re over the moon but I don’t want to get too ahead of myself yet either. Still a bit in shock.
How are you feeling today? Hoping your bloods tomorrow show a good increase 🤞🏼.

catchthedog · 11/09/2022 07:48

thank you but i am now filling a pad, like a normal period.
i see some.women on 2 a day so i cant understand how (400mg 3 x a day) so 1200mg cyclogest pessaries is still not enough.

Janefx40 · 11/09/2022 08:25

@Imisscoffee2021 oh I'm so sorry. It's great that you have so many frozen so can try again but I know that this is still a shit day. I've been there too. Sending lots of love. Eat chocolate and nice food! Xxx

@catchthedog I'm sorry this has happened. Ugh - why does this have to be crap so much of the time.

Sending love x

@MariaMc1 yay!!! Congratulations. I'm so pleased for you. Enjoy the moment if you can. None of us know what the future holds but this is the best possible situation you could be in today.

I did bloods yesterday but then regretted it. I want to stay in the bubble of "I'm pregnant and maybe it will work out" so I turned off my emails until Monday. I'm not going to look at the result until then!

I just want to enjoy this moment in case the misery sets in again soon!!!

@Janefx40 I had a normal coffee rather than decaf this morning with a croissant before starting work, I work outdoors so it was a lovely tranquil moment before starting the day. I do feel at peace with it although I'm making sure I don't think too much about it and rather think about the next step instead, if I over analyse this I'll open the flood gates! I had embryoscopes on the emrbyos too so it's wierd to have seen that 5 day development in a video and know that it's gone now, teach me to get attached!

Janefx40 · 11/09/2022 15:21

@Imisscoffee2021 it sounds like you are in as good a place as you can be and that's ace. I'm glad you feel at peace and yes if you can stop yourself thinking too much that has to be good!

@catchthedog I genuinely feel like my progesterone levels were a contributing factor in our first cycle being unsuccessful, or even if it wasn’t, I would have felt more positive at the end of the process knowing it was as it should be. Clearly there is a need for it to be at a sufficient level to support the pregnancy as that’s why we are given pessaries. However, if they don’t check it, how do they determine who needs lubion. It’s been a very rubbish week for us. I’ve cried as much as I can. Some days I feel ok and others I still feel very let down.

@Imisscoffee2021 I never got a faint line on the frer. I did a test 10dp5dt and that was negative and I did another the day the clinic gave me, again negative. After 10dpt I began bleeding and it just worsened day by day. If you’ve had a faint line on a frer I wouldn’t be taking a negative from that. I’d be very optimistic as it’s likely your hcg levels rising. I wouldn’t give up hope. I too paid for the embryoscope and now I just feel sad that I have a USB of our developing embryo that also didn’t work. I actually think it’s inappropriate of the clinics to use this as a way of making money. It should be part of the package. Anything that increases your chances should be.

@MariaMc1 - Congratulations! So happy for you! And the first cycle. Amazing! Do you mind me asking about the progesterone again? Did you say they checked yours before, day of transfer and after? I want to be fully equip with the right questions at our follow-up appointment. Did they give the Lubion on top from the start? Or after checking your levels?
Did you pay for the embryoscope too?
I’m wondering if it’s worth doing next time.

I’ve heard of some women asking for the medication that they prescribe for those who have NKC as it doesn’t harm to take it as a precaution. Has anyone else heard of this?

@Janefx40 still thinking of you and praying for good news for you Monday xx

Staceyttc · 11/09/2022 16:23

@MariaMc1 @Janefx40 also forgot to ask sorry, did you have a fresh or frozen transfer?
xx

How about you? @Imisscoffee2021 @catchthedog @lucymills1234 Xx

Imisscoffee2021 · 11/09/2022 16:27

@Staceyttc it was my first cycle and a fresh transfer, had 5 frozen. It was overall quite a lucky cycle to shame it ended with a bfn, I inexplicably had an AFC of 11 at the start after having consistently 20 and 21 before, but went ahead and got 7 eggs, all mature and all fertilised. All made it to day 5 and 5 were frozen and one transferred, the 7th was a bit slow so they gave it a day 6 but didn't freeze it. They said three were were quality and the other three are good so it's overall a great result but shame it didn't translate to a BFP, hoping for success on a frozen cycle next🤞 x

Imisscoffee2021 · 11/09/2022 16:33

@Staceyttc meant to say were MFI as husband has a severe varicocele that can't be embolised due to his vein configuratio, so were expecting significant drop off

Staceyttc · 11/09/2022 17:00

@Imisscoffee2021 we’re a bit lost with the situation with ours to be honest. We had 11 collected. All injected, 10 fertilised, 7 normally, 1 atypically, 1 abnormally. 7 developed but then we were told that went to 1 top quality for transfer and then just 2 for freezing. Although I have only today noticed some discrepancies with the summary and what I was told/emailed, which was 2 for freezing. Our summary however, says 1.
I am 34 and despite my partner having some abnormal forms we have not found any other issues, so I am feeling very confused to be honest.

I would like to know everyone’s opinion on fresh vs frozen. We heard frozen statistics were better but was convinced to go with a fresh transfer by our clinic. I am wishing we went with our gut now though. Not to say it would have worked, but I’ve heard and read for more positive outcomes with frozen cycles.

I am now worried I have just 1 frozen egg after paying so much money :(((
It’s heart breaking xx

Imisscoffee2021 · 11/09/2022 17:05

@Staceyttc I'm 34 too, I've read fresh and frozen are comparable now but frozen didn't used to be so good, its become as good as fresh. Some women find frozen is more successful because they aren't as full if hormones from stims and its closer to their natural cycle. Did you do just the one round, not multicycle package? I only ask as someone in another chat got them to convert their paid for round into a multicycle because they felt the clinic hadn't made the right choices for them ans the cycle could have gone better, it saves allt of money as frozen are all included. I have a two cycle multipackage which included the embryoscope, might be worth checking?
