4/5 days post frozen transfer

Hello, I am on day 5 post frozen embryo transfer. I have had a bit of pink/ brown spotting on and off since the transfer which I wasn’t worried about as I assumed it was from the procedure itself but since yesterday evening I have had a slight dull ache in my left ovary and had a few specs of red blood on the tissue after going to the loo last night. I have had a few specs of red again today. It is only on the tissue but I am still experiencing pink/ brown spotting too. I am on 4 estrogen tablets, 3 progesterone pessaries and 1 lubion injection a day. Does this mean the cycle has failed?

I'm 6dp5dt today and have had a bit of spotting starting today. From what I've heard it can just be implantation bleeding, irritation from the progesterone or the embryo rooting in deeper and apparently nothing to worry about so long as other signs are good and bleeding doesn't get brighter or heavier. Obviously check with your clinic if you're worried for reassurance.

Blue0182 · 07/08/2022 15:20

@Gracie2021 It’s reassuring to knew that someone is experiencing similar. I think the fact the blood was bright red is what alarmed me even if it was literally just specks on the tissue. I didn’t even make it to test day last time which is why I’m taking lubion too so I think I end up reading into everything. I’m my own worst enemy for googling everything too!

Sending you lots of luck x

Lubion too here. That's a fun little jab isn't it. Actually softer than any of the stims ones I've had. Really hope things settle down for you. Best of luck.

Coops0406 · 08/08/2022 08:29

Hiya! I'm 4dp5dt...tested this morning 🤦🏾‍♀️ BFN. I know probably too early but you see people who get BFP early! On 5 oestrogen tablets, 2 cyclogest, lubion and clexane injections. I felt a few little twinges on the right hand side yesterday which is probably why I tested, but aside from all the progesterone symptoms, nothing.

@Blue0182 spotting can be signs of implantation so definitely don't think you're ruled out at all. In everything I've read it can be a good sign but if you're worried then speak to your clinic.

@Blue0182 @Gracie2021 When are your OTDs? Mine is next Monday, my 40th birthday! So I will definitely have to test early to prepare myself!

Gracie2021 · 08/08/2022 09:11

I tested and had nothing on 4dpt too @Coops0406 only got my first line on 5dpt. From my reading I was hoping to get my first line anywhere between 5-7dpt so you're still nice and early yet. My OTD is only next Monday which would be 14dpt so will be doing daily FRERs for the week to keep me sane til then.

How are ye both feeling today?

Coops0406 · 08/08/2022 09:21

@Gracie2021 that's good to know! I think I'll be testing everyday too, definitely can't leave it for a surprise! We've got the same OTD! Are you using FRER tests?

I feel okay, just standard progesterone symptoms of bloating, sore boobs, tired! And feel like a pin cushion and walking pill box! How about you? Have you noticed any symptoms?

Gracie2021 · 08/08/2022 09:29

I use an FRER and an Easy@home every morning but tbh the Easy@home by itself wouldn't give much reassurance. They're shockingly bad for showing progression. Might just stick with the FRERs daily instead. Ordered another 8 of them from Amazon to get me through the rest of the week and a couple spares 😂😂 are you well stocked up too?

I've cramps and lower back pain every day, very tired some evenings. Light headed if I don't eat often and get up too quickly and as of this morning nosebleeds. But the last two i'd put down to progesterone as I've had them before on unsuccessful cycles. Funnily enough I feel like less of a pillbox than usual because I've stopped most of my usual supplements so down to just 10 pills a day and an injection. Plus the dreaded crinone but tbh after multiple rounds of stims and 20 supplements a day I'll take it!

Blue0182 · 08/08/2022 09:43

@Coops0406 @Gracie2021 My OTD is also next Monday but this morning I had a bright red bleed - like a proper bleed 😔 Feeling very disheartened atm. Awful cramps last night too and and absolutely no ‘typical’ pregnancy symptoms. I don’t make it to test day last time and it looks like I won’t this time either ☹️ X

OP posts:
Coops0406 · 08/08/2022 09:44

@Gracie2021 the one I did this morning was a one step cheap one, but still supposed to detect early. I have 6 FRERs and got 2 more in their way so that will be enough for one a day until OTD.
I'm down to 4 vitamins a day plus my 5 oestrogen tablets but had all the testing on my womb and the embryos are euploids. Had 3 failed transfers (one euploid, the other 2 untested) so I seem to definitely have some sort of implantation issue. But we've done all we can so will have to see what happens!

Gracie2021 · 08/08/2022 09:52

@Blue0182 I'm so sorry. Will keep everything crossed that it could be an implantation bleed or something. Really hope it slows down for you. So sorry you're having to go through that worry.

Gracie2021 · 08/08/2022 09:54

@Coops0406 god it sounds like you've been through the mill. Really hope this is your time. I'm kind of the opposite. DOR so multiple rounds of embryo banking and egg quality issues. This is finally our first transfer and my first time ever seeing a line so not sure how it'll all pan out.

Blue0182 · 08/08/2022 09:54

@Gracie2021 thank you! I’m trying to keep everything crossed too but not feeling very hopeful especially after last time x

OP posts:
Coops0406 · 08/08/2022 10:06

@Blue0182 are you on lubion? So many people don't get the "typical" pregnancy symptoms and hopefully the bleeding is implantation. I remember someone telling me they bled like it was a period and they still got a BFP. Keeping everything crossed for you 🤞🏾try to stay positive

@Gracie2021 so you've done back to back egg collections? That must have been gruelling! Do you have some frozen too?

We have done 3 cycles, got 2 eggs in the first, then 17 and 16 in the following...our only nhs round was just absolutely wasted. Then had 7 embryos good enough to be tested and ended up with 3 euploids. Got the 2nd one in hopefully trying to burrow, but we know it's the lowest rated out of the 3 we had. I just presumed it was a done deal with euploids but apparently not!

This ivf journey is so hard, so many hurdles to get through just to get pregnant! And then I imagine it's just filled with worry when it does happen as that's what we become used to!

Fingers crossed for us all for the 15th 🤞🏾🥰

Blue0182 · 08/08/2022 10:12

@Gracie2021 congratulations on your line! Sending lots of luck that it gets darker and darker!

@Coops0406 I’m on Lubion, yes. Also on 3 pessaries too. I’ve read so much about implantation but I’m just not sure as everything feels exactly like last time. I’ve had a bit of spotting since the transfer but assumed it was just from the procedure but it seems to just be getting more and more over the days. Lots of luck to you too xx

Gracie2021 · 08/08/2022 10:47

It's said the first round is often more diagnostic than anything else @Coops0406. It was like that for us too After the first was cancelled for poor response they tested my AMH again and it had tanked like 75% in about 8 months hence the embryo banking. We did a duostim double round, month off then another duostim double. Got 5 embryos total, 2 high quality, 3 average/poor. Still 4 on ice if this one keeps going well which is reassuring. Wouldn't recommend the back to back rounds though. It took its toll and the quality of of embryos went down each time. We didn't test as we were lucky to have what we had and tbh didn't need the knock. Fantastic to get 3 euploids though. I know they say there isn't a guarantee with euploids either but you're starting off from such a strong position. Really hope this is the one for you. I think we may just get used to anxiety for a while now.

@Blue0182 like that I have heard of people having bleeding and everything coming through alright. I really hope that's the case for you. Here for the rants or the chats or whatever you need. Hugs xxx

Coops0406 · 08/08/2022 11:00

@Gracie2021 that sounds so tough! Mentally and physically! I also can't believe how fast AMH dropped! Did you get your best embryos from the first of the back to back then? Sounds like the one in there now is doing everything it needs to 🥰

I feel like we should be in a good position but it just still isn't working. It's frustrating really but we know we can't do much more than we have! Just have to sit tight and keep the hope and positivity going!

@Blue0182 your progesterone levels should be good with the lubion and pessaries. AF came for me before OTD when I didn't have lubion but because of this we found out my progesterone level before my last transfer was far too low, 10 on just the pessaries...as soon as they put the lubion in it rocketed to 147! So I definitely think the lubion should be keeping AF away for you. I know it's so hard to try and keep positive thoughts when you see the blood. Would you maybe feel better by getting the clinic to check your progesterone level?

cluelessIVFpatient · 15/08/2022 19:25

Hi ladies ,

I am just wondering how long do you stay on fematab for? I Got day 5 frozen transfer yesterday. Clinic told me to contact them in 2 weeks … I’m guessing I stop then ? 🤞 positive test result. Many thanks,

Gracie2021 · 18/08/2022 13:56

Hi @cluelessIVFpatient I've been told to stay on all meds until 12 weeks. Most people I've heard stay on them til 10 weeks assuming a positive result. Wishing you the best of luck.

Sorry missed seeing your message. Yeah @coop0406 we got them in the following order. Round 1 4AA round 2 4AB round 3 3CB round 4 3CB and 5BC. So decreasing each time. Hope your second euploid has done the trick for you 🤞🤞

Coops0406 · 18/08/2022 19:40

@Gracie2021 wow! I had no idea that the quality could decrease by doing the back to back cycles.
So far so good, little embaby still there. Got my "official" BFP on my 40th birthday! Scan booked for 7th September, which seems forever away! Have you got yours booked?

Gracie2021 · 18/08/2022 21:25

That's fantastic news @Coops0406 what a birthday present! First scan at 7w1d on 1st sept. Hoping it will be good luck for us as transfer was aug 1st. Are you having many symptoms?

Coops0406 · 18/08/2022 22:15

@Gracie2021 it was the best birthday ever!
Ooh, that's a whole week sooner than me! Our scan is on the 7th September, transfer was 4th august so I think I'll be 7w4d by then. I always thought it would be at 6 weeks so it seems quite a way to wait!
Just tender boobs and major bloating but nothing else really noticeable. How about you?

cluelessIVFpatient · 19/08/2022 18:58

Your a star for responding& for the info.I’m not telling people at the moment in my circle , as I found the pressure during the retrieval a bit much so thank you

🤞🤞🤞for us all now for ongoing pregnancies

Gracie2021 · 22/08/2022 09:27

@Coops0406 bloating cramping, sore boobs, lightheadedness but no nausea yet at all. How about you? Had a bleed over the weekend that terrified the life out of me but passed quickly. Have a query out to my clinic and hoping they might see me this week for a scan although that might be a bad thing too as it's too early to definitely see a heartbeat and might end up stressing me even more.

Coops0406 · 22/08/2022 10:22

@Gracie2021 when you get cramping is it like random sharp pains every now and then? I get that on both sides. Still no nausea and just a couple of lightheaded times.
Oh no! I bet that was worrying...but I also hear it's very normal. I would personally want to get checked out, even if it's too early to detect a heartbeat they could hopefully just put your mind at ease maybe?
Are you still doing tests? I've tried not to but I seem to keep checking every few days! It's become an obsession!

@cluelessIVFpatient how are you doing?

Gracie2021 · 22/08/2022 10:30

Completely different types of cramping at diff times @Coops0406. Except for when I was bleeding I take it as a positive sign at this point as I've had it since transfer. Actually booked in for a 6w scan this Wednesday morning for some reassurance. But terrified as I know the scan itself could spark some spotting which could terrify me and then it's very possible no heartbeat that early which would also stress me out but didn't have the willpower to say no. Haven't done a test since day after beta last Tuesday as apparently they can start getting lighter after your HCG hits a certain point and I thought it would freak me out. But think do what you have to do to get through the wait!

Easier to keep quiet sometimes @cluelessIVFpatient and share when you feel comfortable. Hope you're feeling well.
