Thought I'd start a thread for those starting rounds in the next few months.

I'm 36. TTC for 6 years. This will be my 4th transfer. It's a double embryo FET in Cyprus.

Welcome welcome 😁

How exciting is today!

It's lovely that @AliceAbsolum and @LuckyNovember get to go through their 2ww together with 2 each on board :)

Best of luck ladies.

@LT103 that's amazing looks like you will have quite a few Frosties. Is your next update tomorrow or weds? And Thank you :) I'm a little nervous as even though dummy run went ok, I was relaxed and sedated.
On HSG I was awake and they couldn't get in. Also really hoping that my little cells make it.

@Steph2345 hope all is well with you?

Anyone else get sad? Last night I couldn't sleep as I was worried about none developing, my OH said to me, please stop worrying it's not going to change anything. They are not in the dish thinking ah she's not worrying about me enough let's stop developing. I laughed but was then super sad at the thought that our possible future babies are starting life without us.

Weird I know the dreams are also insane! Is it the progesterone? Hmm

LuckyNovember · 28/03/2022 14:39

@AliceAbsolum

I don't know why. They have all sorts of weird rules. See attached!
😂 these are great!
Turning40andstartingIVF · 28/03/2022 14:47

Hey. Hope its OK to jump in. My first time with IVF. Starting meds in April. I'm 40 this summer. So this is my last chance. I'm so nervous and have loads of questions xxx

Steph2345 · 28/03/2022 15:43

@LuckyNovember wow! Such great news you have additional 2!
And congratulations to you and @AliceAbsolum on your transfers today! Best of luck to you both over the next few weeks, I hope it all goes smoothly.

@SamTTC I’m soooo impatient!! Totally understand what you mean. Waiting for my period felt like a lifetime. Are you going onto a long or short protocol?

@LT103 great news yours are on the way to becoming blasts! When will the final day of developing be for you? I’ve had no update no, but I’m not expecting anything from the clinic until Wednesday (possibly in the morning but maybe when I get there after lunch).

@PMAmostofthetime so great you’re looking like a Wednesday transfer too! Are you relieved with this? Have you got a time booked yet? I’m in at 2pm. I was feeling a little all over the place yesterday… really soppy/happy tears over not a lot and really irritable with other things that were also nothing.

Hope everyone else is doing ok and keeping calm through everything x

Steph2345 · 28/03/2022 15:44

@Turning40andstartingIVF welcome!! There are a few of us doing this for the first time so you aren’t alone! Here to support each other through it all 🙂

PMAmostofthetime · 28/03/2022 16:16

Welcome @Turning40andstartingIVF These amazing ladies have helped me through my first cycle loads and I have had to ask them some really obvious questions and some gross ones- we celebrate each other's successes and remain positive for the not so good news.

They have kept me sane and helped me through my stims as I have a huge needle phobia.

Ask away no question is too silly or too gross and someone will have the answer.

@Steph2345 no time booked yet- they will ring Wednesday morning to confirm there will still be a transfer l. which is making me anxious, obviously in case there's Isn't and because we live 1.5 hours away from the clinic ( not a choice NHS round). But to be fair I live in Wales's version of Narnia I don't think there are any closer.
I have cried at everything too- cute puppies l, people being nice to me, people just being normal to me- super hard to explain when no one knows your doing IVF and are pumped full of Hormones.

We will be 2 ww buddies and just behind @AliceAbsolum and @LuckyNovember.

Anyone else have any updates this week? How are you all?

LT103 · 28/03/2022 16:31

@Steph2345 my final update is hopefully tomorrow (day 5) but if there are some not quite there they will give them til Wednesday so I might get another update then.

HJen22 · 28/03/2022 17:50

@AliceAbsolum @LuckyNovember congratulations ladies on your transfers! And being PUPO! I hope you are both resting up! And so amazing you got two on board and one still developing! The best news!!! How are you both feeling?

@AliceAbsolum going to watch your vlog! I know I'll cry so waited until after work!

@PMAmostofthetime @LT103 great news about your calls and progress! sending all the positive vibes your way and to you @Steph2345 for your next update!

Sorry I've had loads to catch up on! Took a day off my phone yesterday. I visited my friends 7 week old baby today and didn't cry or come away feeling sad and I rejoined the world of insta on Friday. So I feel like I'm taking positive steps in the real world again! Still scared that I'm coping a little "too" well (in comparison to many of my breakdowns in the past, I mean don't get me wrong I've still cried most days) but maybe I'm just stronger than I thought!

Hopingforamiracle11 · 28/03/2022 18:15

@AliceAbsolum and @LuckyNovember
Congratulations on your transfers today Ladies xxx I hope you’re both feeling well and having a lazy and relaxing evening Smile

@Steph2345 and @PMAmostofthetime @LT103 I’m really happy your embryos are doing well xx

@Turning40andstartingIVF welcome x

@HJen22 of course you’re a strong Lady x it’s great that you had a nice day with your friend. Anyways, we all have a right to cry - our journeys are not easy but despite everything we get up and do our best to make our dreams come true! Smile We’re all fighters Grin

Nutrinerd · 28/03/2022 19:04

Transfer done! After staring at my phone between 8 and 9am worrying that they were going to call and say there were no blastocysts and then panicking when I was there when they seemed like they were going to break bad news when they gave the update it turns out we had 5 to freeze as well as the one transferred today! So happy, it was only the need to desperately pee that stopped me jumping up and down in the clinic!
I took the hydration instructions v. seriously and had such a full bladder that they sent me to the loo before the transfer. Dashed straight afterwards too - @AliceAbsolum I feel for you having to lie down for 2h after!
Have got to have extra progesterone including injections, but hoping for the subcut ones rather than IM.

@LuckyNovember great to hear about your 2 that caught up!

@PMAmostofthetime I totally get the random sad feelings - I was almost going to ask the embryologist for a photo of her as she’s been looking after them, that was definitely contributing to the difficulty getting to sleep last night! Am now going to be on increased progesterone with injections so suspect the weird dreams and random crying might get worse!

@LT103 good news about your blasts forming, fingers crossed for the others!

@Turning40andstartingIVF welcome, I’ve not long been on here but it’s really helpful to just not feel alone!

HJen22 · 28/03/2022 20:05

@Turning40andstartingIVF welcome to the group!

@Hopingforamiracle11 aw how lovely of you to say, thank you! You're right, we're all fighters! I still cry all the time, little things get to me but after waiting and being scared for so long, I'm trying to take a different look at things. I've always been so worried like how was I going to cope if it didn't work. I think I was so worried about worse case scenario (and that was me panicking about not getting to EC) I've somehow mentally prepared myself for it not being an easy journey. Still waiting and still scared but just need to look forward. How are you doing?

@Nutrinerd that's amazing news!! Congratulations at being PUPO! And your 5 in the freezer! You must be so pleased!

PMAmostofthetime · 28/03/2022 20:31

@HJen22 Thank You
That's great news, maybe the lower med levels is helping you feel better at the moment :). And spending time with family is always lovely

@Hopingforamiracle11 Thank you l, just hope they make it until Wednesday.

@Nutrinerd that is amazing news! So pleased for you! That's 3 of you today with the same 2ww- how lovely to have people to go through it with and of course you have all of of as well.

Has anyone on NHS had 2 transferred. I'm 35 if 3 make it I'm going to ask, I wonder if No is always the answer. It's my first cycle so I'm guessing they will say no.

LT103 · 28/03/2022 21:00

@PMAmostofthetime I’m not sure about that one. My consultant advised me against putting 2 in even though I’m 40. He said I’d have more chances with 2 FET with one embryo each than one FET with 2 embryos. I don’t know if that’s true or not but I’ve kind of just gone with it. They were really all for trying to avoid multiple pregnancies at all costs.

@Nutrinerd what an amazing result. Congrats on your transfer and omg 5 in the freezer!!! That is great!!

@HJen22 glad you are doing ok. A day away from phone and social media can work wonders!! Just take one day at a time!

LuckyNovember · 28/03/2022 21:15

My doctor is dead against double transfers as well, but was then really fine with it today 🤷🏻‍♀️ I think as it's a 3 day transfer and my first cycle failed, they reckon it's not too risky...

And I know we're not supposed to want the complications of twins...

But...
How cool would that be 😉

LT103 · 28/03/2022 21:18

@LuckyNovember I mean I’d be happy with one but def wouldn’t care if it was twins. We have loads in our family! I def want more than 1 and given my age it would be the perfect solution haha.

LuckyNovember · 28/03/2022 21:23

I know, right? @LT103
I dream of this kind of efficiency 😂

PMAmostofthetime · 28/03/2022 22:07

@LT103 @LuckyNovember that was exactly my thinking. Interesting about the reasoning though. I think I'll look into it my OH recons it's just because they want you to have to pay for more cycles for sibs.

Any thing I should be doing to prepare for ET?

PMAmostofthetime · 28/03/2022 22:08

@AliceAbsolum @LuckyNovember @Nutrinerd

How are you all feeling after ET?

Nutrinerd · 28/03/2022 22:18

@PMAmostofthetime apparently I’ve just had a lovely nap! Fortunately woken up in time for last meds. Feel fine really, the transfer itself was probably less uncomfortable than some of the meds, they had to use a firmer catheter to get through the cervix but it wasn’t too bad at all. I wonder if the having a full bladder is actually just a sneaky pain distraction trick… if so it seems to work!
I packed a bag early so I didn’t forget anything on the day, like the progesterone blood test form I was given! Packed paracetamol in case it was sore but didn’t need it in the end.

PMAmostofthetime · 28/03/2022 22:31

@Nutrinerd good to hear your getting some rest :).

I have alarms/reminders on my phone now as I found myself napping a lot post EC. They give me a 5 minute warning.

They did a dummy run on me and said all went ok, but I have painful smears so I am dreading it, can we take Paracetamol before we go in?

Nutrinerd · 28/03/2022 22:50

@PMAmostofthetime yes my clinic said I could take it beforehand if I wanted to. I think they do speculum exams so much at the clinics that they’re slicker than the practice nurse who does maybe one day a week of smear tests, it was definitely less uncomfortable than previous smear tests and the staff were all so lovely and reassuring. I hope it all goes as well for you on Wednesday, I’m sure having done the dummy run will have helped the staff be prepared

LT103 · 28/03/2022 22:53

@Nutrinerd I’ve had a hycosy before so I assume it’s similar minus the full bladder?

@PMAmostofthetime I also have the fear that both embryos would split and I’d end up with quads 😂

I’m starting to get anxiety again. This time tomorrow I’ll know if we have any embryos to freeze or not!!

Somatronic · 28/03/2022 22:58

@Nutrinerd fantastic news! I hope everyone who had transfers today are feeling OK.

On the twins issue, I imagine they worry about transferring two embryos potentially ending up as triplets or quads, which are genuinely very high risk pregnancies. OH initially wanted us to transfer 2 and hope for twins until I mentioned the risk of 3 or 4 😂

PMAmostofthetime · 28/03/2022 23:46

@Nutrinerd thank you that's easer my anxiety slightly.

@LT103 @Somatronic

is there more chance of split embryos with IVF. I've heard about the Crozier Quadruplets but that's it.

I know clinics abroad regularly transfer 2 🤷🏼‍♀️

LT103 · 28/03/2022 23:55

@PMAmostofthetime there is a higher incident of multiple births with ivf than natural yeah. I still think it’s low but it is higher. I’m just thinking if it’s going to happen to anyone it would be me haha

Currently sitting wide awake thinking in 12 hours I’ll know if we have embryos!!
