IVF/FET Jan/Feb 2022

I know I'm a bit early but knowing that I get to start in January I think I'll go mad just twiddling my thumbs until then.

With Christmas clinic closures I think there's a fair few of us around waiting for Jan to start, so hopefully we can gather here for support in the mean time?

About me - 33 years old (although I turn 34 in Jan!), TTC#1 for two years with unexplained infertility. Am due to start my first ever round of IVF in January (NHS). I've been told I'll do short protocol and in terms of next steps I've got a trial embryo transfer in two weeks' time, and both OH and I have to get blood tests done in Dec. I can order my meds from the pharmacy in Dec as well so got that to look forward to ha.

I'm currently predicted to start my cycle on the 31st of Dec which would mean having to wait a whole cycle due to the new year bank holiday getting in the way. My cycle can vary by a few days though so I'm really hoping CD1 actually comes a day or two later!

@thislittlebird when I'm talking my lazy right ovary I meant that from those follicles numbers only 1/3 on the right so the left one the hard-worker. Never had IVF before.

@Dobcaty ah ok, yeah similar here where mine was 27 follicles one month with 10 (right) and 17 (left) one month, a different month to the 38. My left definitely seems more productive.

@Bluebonnet3 I don’t want 38 definitely but I have the fear they’ll all grow into immature follicles. :/ fingers crossed I get a decent number.

I chased fertility2u for my prescription today and they said it’ll be with you via email in ten minutes and it never came. Another call tomorrow!

Good luck to everyone with egg collections, scans & transfers tomorrow. Quietly keeping tabs on post and seems to be getting busy now 😊 fingers crossed for us all x

My meds will be arriving on Friday, so I now know I’ll be taking gonal f, fyremadel, ovitrelle and cyclogest.

@tulipsandsnow sounds traumatic! I've never had blood taken for any of my cycles of ivf, just monitored with one scan. Anyway, stay positive for this round, there's no reason why it shouldn't be as good as the last

Everything is now scary real! Go for scan on Monday and if everything is ok then it will happen next week - am having donor eggs cycle so meds not quite as brutal as lots of you but starting to feel the side effects!

@thislittlebird scheduled to start the 27th just after you so seeing this as the prompt I needed to order my meds!

I’m so fed up. After all the stims only one follicle. Waiting to speak to someone this afternoon to see what are next step is.

I’m guessing buserelin does the same thing as fyremadel? I should probably Google

@Gracie2021 I chased the prescription because I hadn’t seen it yet and they asked me when I wanted them delivered and I said Friday is fine but now I’m like omg what if I get pregnant and they go to waste lmao. My brain is a fool 🥴

Gosh mine is v high then, I wonder if this has to do with my low AMH at 4.6

How was the Bureselin for you? Any side effects? I'm a bit worried about the needles too. I'm getting the pen for the ovaleap l, not sure if that's better.

@Gracie2021 @thislittlebird I stimmed for 7 days. They have cancelled the cycle. I was already on the highest dose the NHS can give.

Hi @Jennie154 I'm so sorry to hear your news. This is such a tough journey. You mentioned that you had low AMH and high FSH. Do you mind me asking what your FSH and AFC were at the beginning of the cycle?

I dont think I've ever been told my AMH .
I didnt really get any on the bursellin, but when I started on the overleap I got migranes and tired. I was napping for 2 hours mid day . Haha

@Janefx40 my AMH is 2 and FSH 16. I was never told AFC.

@Jennie154 I'm so sorry to hear that. I hope you have support around you. Will you have a meeting with them to discuss next steps and what they can change up for you? Have seen it said before that the first round can just be a test for what works and what doesn't so hope this is just a small bump on the road for you. So sorry, it absolutely sucks xxx

@thislittlebird like I'd be delighted not to need the meds but yes it's hard making the investment thinking there's even a slight chance that you wouldn't need them....

I'm on 225iu luveris, 450 gonal f, ovitrelle, cetrotide 0.25mcg and buserelin 0.5.

What supplements are you all taking btw? I have a bloody cocktail going at this point....

Adding DHEA and Melatonin to the mix for IVF after reading it starts with the egg. I'm convinced the vit E and vit C had a good impact on my lining actually.

@NaomiNatNat I've got the same ovaleap but only take 450 a day which is the max dosage I think you can have. Then the rest of mine are different drugs, but I imagine all doing the same thing 😊 The ovaleap pen is the best thing! So easy to use and don't feel it at all. Just turn the dosage dial up slowly as I found this morning I put the dose to 450 but only 300 came out, so had to go again with another 150!

@Jennie154 so sorry to hear about your scan this morning, completely understand how you feel. Hopefully they can maybe increase dosage of meds for a few days more or something. Is this day 8 of stims? Sending you lots of love 🥰

@NaomiNatNat I’m on short protocol, so your buserelin is for down regging if you’re on long? I know my fyremadel is for stopping ovulation (I think so anyway).
