Hello! Just had my egg collection today for my first of three egg collections with mild ivf. Is anyone doing mild ivf?

@Woodcottage1 yes, me! I had my 1st egg collection this morning, we are also doing 3 cycles of egg collection. I was expecting 1 egg but got 2, so that was a pleasant surprise! Waiting for the call tomorrow to find out how many fertilised. Have you had your call?x

Ally0400 · 19/07/2021 15:51

Me! I have my first egg collection Wednesday and planning for a fresh transfer. Doing one cycle (for now) due to low AMH and secondary infertility.

Best of luck to you both! x

Kitekat81 · 19/07/2021 20:31

Wishing you lots of luck for Wednesday @Ally0400!x

How are you getting on @Woodcottage1 @Ally0400?

Woodcottage1 · 01/08/2021 14:10

So sorry I missed this. I had three eggs, 2 mature and 2 went to 5 day. How about everyone else? My results are much better with supplements x

@Woodcottage1 that's a great start to your 3 cycles, 2x 5-day blasts already! I had 2 eggs retrieved, 1 fertilised normally and was looking really good at day 3 so that one went in the freezer, the other didn't fertilise normally but was observed until day 5 just in case, sadly that one didn't make it. When are you hoping to start cycle 2? I've got my period today so have booked a day 2 scan for tomorrow. Really hoping we can start again straight away 🤞

Kitekat81 · 01/08/2021 14:41

@Woodcottage1 oh and what supplements are you taking? I think I'm already taking most things, though I haven't tried dhea as Create told me not to bother.

Francesmalin · 01/08/2021 16:47

Girls which is your clinic? I am doing a cycle after summer and I am thinking of Create

Ally0400 · 02/08/2021 10:10

Hi- I had 3 eggs collected, all mature and fertilised. I have an 8 cell grade 1 embryo on board and a 3AA blast in the freezer. Official test day is Thurs. eeeep!

I also took loads of supplements and followed a high protein/low carb healthy diet 3 months ahead of IVF. No idea if any of that helped as this is the only cycle I've done, but I was in the camp of why not.

@Francesmalin I'm with Create and regardless of outcome, I have been really pleased with the treatment.

Very best of luck on cycle 2 @Kitekat81! x

Kitekat81 · 02/08/2021 10:26

@Ally0400 eek exciting! I have all my fingers and toes crossed for you!

Well done on sticking to that diet as well! I'm taking loads of supplements as well and have given up caffeine and cut back on alcohol (not a big drinker anyway), but would struggle to give up on carbs and chocolate! 🙈

@Francesmalin I'm with Create too.

Woodcottage1 · 03/08/2021 22:41

@Kitekat81 hello! Glad to hear you have one in the freezer too xx I’m starting again September I think. I’ve just had the worse period and had noravirus, feeling rather run down. Supplements are all the ones in the ‘starts with an egg book’ including dhea xx

Looks like we’re all with Create. I’m Wilmslow, is anyone else Wilmslow?

OP posts:
Woodcottage1 · 03/08/2021 22:47

Can I ask how old everyone is? Why did you choose mild? My reason is age, I’m 42 x I had a successful round implanted aged 40 from full protocol ivf in cyprus, my second time. I’ve very much bought into the idea behind quality over quantity.

@Ally0400 sorry you said why your doing mild. I’m completely fascinated with this less is potentially more approach, praying it works for us x

@Woodcottage1 oh dear sorry about the norovirus that doesn't sound fun, so lucky you got it now though and not during your treatment! How have you found taking dhea, do you think it's had a positive effect? I'm 39, doing mild because of low AMH (2.2) and low follicle count. I'm having treatment in Wilmslow as well :) That's amazing you had success in Cyprus. If our 3 cycles are unsuccessful we might look abroad for our next steps. With Covid travel restrictions and it being our first time doing ivf we only looked at UK options this time x

LouScot · 04/08/2021 22:47

Hi, can I join? I'm not currently doing a cycle but thinking of doing a mild one - my Amh was 4.8 over a year ago, and afc 6 so obviously it's going to have dropped a bit. I did an egg freezing cycle a few years ago when my Amh was 10 and was a poor responder - it apparently was a "short" protocol but I'm wondering if that's a different name for mild??? If I recall it was 300 units of gonal f for ~10 days?? Does that sound like mild?! Part of me is hoping not as then mild would be another option.. I'm 43 too and it just sucks Sad

LouScot · 04/08/2021 22:48

Also I'm in Scotland.. Create seems to be the only place for mild, is that right? I think my nearest is in Manchester Confused

Kitekat81 · 04/08/2021 23:20

@LouScot I'm also in Scotland and travelling to Create Manchester for treatment Smile It's not ideal but it is possible. If you are near Dundee then you can also look into remote monitoring, so get your scans and blood tests there and then just travel to Manchester for egg collection and transfer (I'm in Edin so Dundee is not much help for me). I don't know anything about gonal f but my mild protocol has been bemfola 150 from day 2, if that helps!x

LouScot · 04/08/2021 23:35

Hi @Kitekat81 I'm Edinburgh too! I suppose Dundee is only an hour or so away. Thanks for the protocol info, I'll Google.. Where are you in the process just now?

Kitekat81 · 05/08/2021 08:51

@LouScot I've just started cycle 2, I'm doing a 3-cycle package. If you are interested in Create you can sign up for a free webinar to find out more. The place in Dundee where you might be able to do remote monitoring is Dundee Fertility Associates x

Ally0400 · 05/08/2021 16:11

@Kitekat81 hoping cycle 2 is going well for you so far! Are you stimming right now? How are you feeling?

@LouScot that doesn't sound quite like mild to me. I was on 200 Bemfola from day 2 and stimmed for 9 days. And I think many are on 150 as @kitekat81 says. Mild may well be another path for you to consider!

@Woodcottage1 amazing start to your 3 cycle package. You must be so pleased!

Update from me, the clinic called with my beta blood results (I was too scared to test at home!) and it looks like this little embryo is sticking around. Whilst I know anything can happen, I feel like the luckiest person alive today. I hope this is encouraging to those on this thread that mild can work, a low number of eggs isn't the end of it, and low AMH doesn't have to mean we're out of the game. Wishing all the best to you ladies and will be following your journeys. xx

Kitekat81 · 05/08/2021 17:01

@Ally0400 that's amazing news, congratulations!! I actually felt really emotional reading this, it definitely gives hope to us ladies with low AMH!! I hope it all continues well for you and you have a happy and healthy pregnancy xx

Hi @LouScot 300 over 10 days, to me that sounds like normal protocol to me, my normal short protocol in cyprus was 300 over 10 days . I was surprised that mild for me was 225 over 9-10 days, but the effects of the medication was much easier than normal ivf. X
