Chemical or keep some hope?

I'm 10dp5dt and today is OTD for me (bloods).

I had a FRER faint positives at 6, 7 and 8 dpt and an implantation bleed.

Clear Blue early test today and digital test says "not pregnant" and whilst I think I see s very very faint line if the dye test I don't know if I'm just kidding myself.

Any chance this is going to end well, of do I need to expect bloods will confirm a chemical pregnancy?

Any stories of positive outcomes would be really helpful, it's going to be a long day.

I am so sorry to see this @2mumlife I hope you get some clarity from your bloods today ❤️

2mumlife · 21/06/2021 09:32

Thanks @VenusStarr. I'm just waiting to go into clinic now. Almost don't want to go in but I know really knowing is better than not knowing

That sounds so hard. I'm sorry.

There might be a chance it implanted late but realistically it might not have. Do you have any more rounds/embryos? If it is a chemical then it shows that they can implant, although I know that will be very little comfort to you right now.

We're beginning in October and dreading it

2mumlife · 21/06/2021 12:57

@theotherfossilsister I had implantation bleed at 6dpt, not sure if that's counted as a late implantation?

This was our only frostie. We're on an Access Fertility package so have 1 more EC opportunity but I responded poorly to stims and trigger (only 2 mature eggs collected, was anticipated to have been 7 from my scans) despite being 32 and having normal AMH for age and no known fertility problems (doing IVF due to needing donor sperm and having 4 unsuccessful IUIs)

Clinic just called. Blood hcg came back at 21 so a very low positive. Its probably a chemical pregnancy but having bloods checked again later this week to compare. So, limbo now while we wait and see.

Anyone else had a 10dp5dt hcg level this low and it progress to a successful pregnancy?

@2mumlife sorry to hear you are in this limbo. My clinic were looking for anything over 50 for an FET or 100 for fresh. Having said that anything is possible and I have my fingers crossed for you.

Also don't be too despondent over your response, there are many different stims they can try. I personally responded better on a different drug at a third of the dose than I had on my first cycle.

2mumlife · 21/06/2021 16:53

@MabelG Thanks. I've been trying to work out how high my blood hcg levels would have had to have been to test positive at 6dpt to see whether I think it might be coming down or going up super slowly. Clinic already made a hypothetical plan for a protocol change after last cycle if we need EC again, so I kind of know what we're looking at.

Its kind of bittersweet, as this cycle at least means I can get pregnant (it was my first every positive test)

@2mumlife my first two cycles ended in chemicals. I wish I had pushed for them to do some of the more basic checks after the first one (thyroid/full blood count for example). It transpired that very low dose thyroid meds and aspirin would be beneficial to me so those are some other questions you could ask if this does turn out to be a chemical. The thyroid blood test is about £40 so a drop in the ocean compared to another cycle.

2mumlife · 21/06/2021 18:29

@MabelG Never had s thyroid test done so that might be a sensible move.

I'm sorry to hear you're still in limbo @2mumlife ❤️ what I learned when going through my chemical was that frer are very sensitive! So it's possible your bfp at 6dp5dt was fairly low and it could be OK. (when I had my final beta there was a definite line on the frer but my hcg was under 5 and when my hcg was 14 I was testing clearly positive on 25miu tests). I'll keep everything crossed for you 🤞xx

2mumlife · 21/06/2021 18:53

@VenusStarr That's interesting, I've been trying to find out how much blood HCG relates to urine levels. I did a clear blue early test today which I think is 25iu, and I don't think there was really anything there (possibly a super faint something but I decided it was probably an evap line) but then my bloods were 21.

I've been wondering if given when I tested positive on FRER there is even a chance it's going up just very slowly.

2mumlife · 21/06/2021 18:56

Actually it's the clear blue ultra early (the ones that are meant to detect 6 days early) I did today and that says 10miu. I think I must have super diluted pee then!

Oh no. I'm sorry you still don't have an answer.
When are they repeating the blood test?

2mumlife · 22/06/2021 07:01

@theotherfossilsister Thursday

I found this for anyone else in a similar situation who wants to look at how their hcg levels compare: www.betabase.info/

VenusStarr · 22/06/2021 11:25

Are you still testing at home @2mumlife? I did, so I knew what was happening. I stopped my meds 2 days before my final beta, but I did a frer on the morning and still had a very faint line.

I hope you are OK, it's so shit ❤️

2mumlife · 22/06/2021 13:28

@VenusStarr No, not testing any more. Decided not to buy any more tests and to just try to get on with things today and tomorrow as much as we can. Clinic still has me on all meds at the moment.

OP posts:
VenusStarr · 22/06/2021 13:54

That sounds like a good plan @2mumlife I drove myself a little crazy with testing. I hope Thursday brings good news x

2mumlife · 22/06/2021 14:47

@VenusStarr Thanks lovely

In case others find this in the future, confirmed chemical for us (hcg 4 today).

MabelG · 24/06/2021 16:59

@2mumlife I am really sorry to hear this, take care of yourself in the coming days. Best of luck for your next cycle. Do enquire about thyroid and aspirin (and if prednisolone which is a low dose steriod) could be helpful next time xx

Rj1988 · 24/06/2021 17:04

@2mumlife - so sorry to hear that Sad. Sending you lots of love xx
Just wondering what grade were these blastocysts and how many did you transfer Daffodil

VenusStarr · 24/06/2021 17:36

I am so sorry @2mumlife ❤️ I've been thinking of you. Sending you a big hug, it's very cruel xx

mowglika · 25/06/2021 08:18

So sorry to hear @2mumlife, wish you the best of luck for your next cycle x

2mumlife · 25/06/2021 08:26

@MabelG Thanks, I'm going to see if my GP will do the thyroid test for me.

@Rj1988 It was a 4AA this time. Previous had an unsuccessful fresh transfer with a 5AA

@VenusStarr @mowglika Thanks. Dreading having to go through EC again
