@2mumlife It seems similar to what happened to me! I had a few lead follicles, not super big, but bigger than the rest. The consultant gave them a couple extra days stims to grow over the weekend and that did the trick to get 8, otherwise we probably would have ended up with way less!

I had trouble with the meds too, Stork never contacted me and GCRM never said much other than when and what to take. I had to chase GCRM and then Stork to be able to know when I would get meds delivered, and it was kind of las minute too. I agree the nurses are all lovely!

2mumlife · 06/08/2021 11:00

@GemmTryTTC Thats interesting to know, and is certainly what I'll push for this time :) That's great to know a few days made a big difference for you.

I feel alright about meds this time, as at least we have awhile before I need to start taking anything :)

GemmTryTTC · 06/08/2021 11:04

@2mumlife yes definitely push for it or ask them! I think they did to give egg donation a chance (we paid half price to have a chance at donating half our eggs +1 if we got 9 or more). We could not donate at the end, I’m not sure if that’s why they pushed stims a couple more days

2mumlife · 06/08/2021 12:38

@GemmTryTTC I got them to agree already to let lead follicules grow a little larger. On my IUI cycles they were always on the bigger side. I also really need a few more eggs to make sure we stay elligible for NHS funding if this doesn't work, as we can now join the NHS waiting list as we've had 6 unsuccessful private attempts. We're sticking it out with GCRM for this cycle as we paid up for an Access Fertility package to give us 2 full IVF cycles (as we had 2 remianing vials of sperm with GCRM). Its good to know we have another 3 I think cycles on the NHS we'd now be eligible for though if this doesn't work (though I'm sure a long wait)

I've just come out my 12 week scan... Good news! Baby is developing on track for dates, NT normal. Wriggling and bouncing and everything they're meant to be doing. I was not expecting that, so I'm feeling really overwhelmed in a good way. Going to go eat ice cream to celebrate! Still a long way to go, but today is a good day.

Kamiros · 06/08/2021 16:16

@scirocco Oh I'm so pleased for you, been thinking about you. You deserve a huge ice cream

Scirocco · 06/08/2021 19:36

Thank you @Kamiros 💜

Kitekat81 · 07/08/2021 11:45

That's great news @Scirocco!! Hopefully you can relax a bit now, though I know that's easier said than done! Smile

2mumlife · 07/08/2021 13:54

Aww @Scirocco thats so good to hear! As others have said hopefully it get a little easier from here for you

J90A · 08/08/2021 08:47

Hey hope everyone is well j have pcos and just had a failed 2nd round of clomid. I am i have ov but not conceived. I'm only getting weekly urine samples and handing them in after 4 weeks. Is anyone else getting more ? Scans etc?

Comiston34 · 09/08/2021 16:54

@Scirocco great news!

I've just had my 7 week scan and blob is happy and healthy so far. Been discharged or graduated as I like to think of it from GCRM now back to NHS services. EEK!!

Scirocco · 09/08/2021 18:09

Congratulations @Comiston34! It really does feel very EEEEK, doesn't it?

Kitekat81 · 09/08/2021 18:11

Yikes that's exciting @Comiston34, gives hope to us all!

I'm on day 9 of cycle 2. I'm responding more slowly to the stims this cycle so will be a later EC, I'm hoping that's not something I should be worrying about! I currently have 1x 12mm follicle and 1x 6mm which may or may not catch up. Next scan on Wednesday xx

itsmschanandlerbong · 09/08/2021 18:13

@Comiston34 and @Scirocco that's fantastic! Must be a huge weight off of both your minds!

@J90A sorry not sure, we're doing ICSI.

@Kamiros and @2mumlife that's good you're both getting started so hope the next couple of weeks go in quickly.

I'm waiting for AF to arrive before starting stims. I usually get a peak on the ovulation strips on day 14 - day 16 and AF then comes around 11 days later. On day 13 of this cycle I started using a new batch of sticks, they were a bit dodgy and the screen flooded first then showed 2 lines day 14 so I assumed I ovulated then. Here I am on day 29, still no AF, my app tells me I'm 4 days late (if the sticks were right). Took a test this morning and of course it was negative. Gahhhh. I'm on a short protocol so no prostrap, and GRI don't use norithesterone, so I'm literally just waiting on AF to start stims. Whyyyy is it this month it decides to come late 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

2mumlife · 10/08/2021 07:33

@J90A Sorry no experience with clomid

@Comiston34 Congratularions!

@Kitekat81 Those sound positive numbers so far!

@itsmschanandlerbong Its always when you want AF she doesn't show!

I was having a bit of a think about my not cycle. I start norethisterone on the 22nd which is CD21 for me. I stop on 29th (so CD 28) and then need to wait for a bleed. I'm meant to start stims on the 3rd September. I have longer cycles though, so the earliest I'd expect AF on a natural cycle would be anytime between the 3rd and the 7th September. I know norethisterone can delay a cycle, but is it really going to make my AF come earlier than usual?

LouScot · 10/08/2021 18:56

Hi, @Scirocco congratulations! I was on a thread with you at the very start of lockdown. Delighted to see your news.

I'm new to this, very low amh and old, so have days when I just think it's not going to work. I noticed @GemmTryTTC you mentioned you're doing a natural cycle at gcrm? Is that a full fresh cycle?? I didnt realise they did it - is that similar to what create etc do? Sorry for the questions! Was it recommended due to your amh level?

GemmTryTTC · 10/08/2021 19:13

@LouScot Im doing a natural FET, I had antagonist protocol at GCRM (high AMH, low dose stims, 150 menopur and 0.25 fyremadel) and got 8 eggs with 3 blasts from that (poorer response than we all expected!). Im not sure if they do natural protocols for IVF but it’s worth asking them!

Scirocco · 10/08/2021 19:37

@LouScot thanks! I really hope you and others get good outcomes too. 💜

Kamiros · 10/08/2021 20:09

@comiston34 Great news.

@louscot My amh is only 0.3, I'm 39 and I did flare protocol with GCRM. 2 follicles, 1 egg but transfer wasn't successful. Doing the same protocol this time. All things considered it worked well for me as with an amh that low I was expecting nothing. Haven't ruled out Create if this cycle doesn't work.

Kamiros · 10/08/2021 20:12

@2mumlife I'm no expert but I believe norethisterone can make af start early yes. I start stims 6th so we'll be very close in timings.

LouScot · 10/08/2021 20:29

@GemmTryTTC ah okay, thanks. Good luck with your cycle.

Is anyone here with Grcm and have low Amh?

LouScot · 10/08/2021 20:32

Oh @Kamiros missed your post. Ah sorry to hear the first round wasn't successful. Is that 0.3ng? Encouraging though that you got something to transfer (if I've not misunderstood) x

J90A · 10/08/2021 21:00

Anyone with pcos clomid worked to ov but still didn't conceive ?

Kamiros · 10/08/2021 21:12

@louscot no pmol. Got a 4AA blast on the first round so our only egg did well. I know it could go differently this time but we're hopeful. I also conceived naturally about a year ago but mc at 6 weeks. I try not to get too hung up on the amh as there's still hope.

LouScot · 11/08/2021 09:23

@Kamiros that's excellent getting that quality blast, good luck with your next round - as they say you do only need one! I'm almost 4 years older than you so a bit despondent but you've reminded me that there is always hope!!! I'm not wanting to go down the egg donor route at this stage (using donor sperm so it feels too much to use double donor) but worried Gcrm will try to push it on me. Were they encouraging of you trying your own eggs or did you have to insist? x
