IVF August/September cycle buddies

Starting this thread early!

We've just booked for our second round to start August 2nd with egg collection September 8th.

I was on the Jan/Feb thread earlier this year.

@singlemomattc29 We're paying private too. I was a poor responder on our first IVF cycle (only 2 mature eggs retrieved). I've had a repeat AMH done which shows my AMH as 32.3 (it was 18.8 last March) so I really don't beleive AMH predicts response any more. I'll be on an antagonist protocol too this time (I was on typical long protocol last time) so hoping it makes a difference.

@Coops0406 Eventually got my AMH back. Went from 18.8 last March to 32.3 now. So no help there in explaining why I'm a poor responder to stims! Its frustrating as hell

@thislittlebird I responded poorly on Menapur (which is what I'm taking again). I'm just waiting for clinic to confirm what dosage we are going for, as consultant had said 300iu for this round but nurse said different earlier on today, so they're conferring!

@beachbum85 Hope you're enjoying the app. I need to get back on it. I have however started accupuncture, which is really relaxing if nothing else :)

@limesoda You'll have a great excuse to rest up and take it easy during your IVF cycle with a broken ankle!

@KatRee The injections are totally fine lovely I get my partner to inject mine, its become a bit of a bonding experience I guess and a way for her to be more invovled.

hi and welcome @itsmschanandlerbong! very sorry to hear about your previous chemical pregnancy - that must have been super tough. we also had one for transfer and none to freeze from 9 eggs last time and have to start again. here's hoping that this round will have a better outcome for you :)

yes, I am definitely enjoying the app and trying to listen every day! I often fall asleep though - not sure if that's normal but his voice is so soothing hopefully it's getting to me subconsciously in the meantime! I love acupuncture too

Hi. I'm waiting for my period to start. This seems to be feeling like it is worse than the 2ww.
So as soon as that starts day 3 will be the baseline scan and commencement of injections

@beachbum85 @Nerdalert thank you...I'm so impatient!! Got everything sorted and pushed along ready for this cycle then boom, another little spanner in the works! I'm a firm believer in things happening at the right time for you so just gotta get on with life and hope the months fly by!!

@itsmschanandlerbong sorry to hear about the chemical pregnancy. It's so hard when they're is only 1 embryo and hopes are all on that one because it made it so far. Fingers crossed the change in meds helps 🥰 and that AF arrives soon!!

Will you be having a fresh transfer? I can't believe the randomness of AMH! And that it can almost double in a year!! I know there is a bit of error, maybe 10% here or there but that change is so bizarre! And considering AMH seems to be the main focus of a lot of fertility consultants it's slightly worrying!! I'm almost doubting mine is what they say as the AFC didn't match up 🤷🏾‍♀️

@Hansoo hope AF hurries up!! It is yet another annoying wait in this ivf journey! You'd think we'd be used to all the waiting but it just gets worse!!

@beachbum85 Final decision after consultant phoned yesterday to discuss is 225iu (they wont let me do 300iu now due to my AMH level increase), and we're going to try Ovapear instead of Menapur now for good measure. My only reassurance is we've changed absolutely everything now about this second cycle, so hopefully we'll see a difference in outcome. Just keep reciting the app "you're doing the best that you can with the tools that you have'

@Hansoo I hate the waiitng for AF, it always seems to take forever when you're wanting it to come!

@Coops0406 Not allowed to do a fresh transfer, we're on a mandatory freeze all. In some ways I'm really annoyed for another delay, but my fresh transfer went very badly last time (my period started only 5 days after transfer) and I don't want to go through that again, so trying to just embrace the freeze all as a good thing (even though its going to cost us another £800 extra just because its a freeze-all which is ridiculous). The only BFP I ever had was with my FET, which sadly was a chemical, but at least I feel that FET can work now. My clinic only go off AMH so it is a bit concerning, as that's preventing them increasing my FSH any more, even though last time I didn't respond. I guess we'll just see.

Hi everyone, do you mind if I join? I'm feeling rather clueless about about whole IVF thing and the various drugs and protocols. I'm in a slightly unusual situation as I'm being a surrogate for some friends so we will be using their frozen eggs and sperm. I guess my cycle will be more like a medicated FET than a full IVF cycle. Anyway we start in 2 weeks time, can't believe it's actually happening! Hope you dont mind me being here. @2mumlife I think we are very similar as we're moving to ovaleap too and supposed to be freeze all due to the trigger, however having had my baseline scan and only seeing a small amount of follicles the trigger may change as I doubt there's any chance of OHSS! Pregnancy rates are generally good for FET so as much as it's another delay you want to make sure your uterus is in the perfect condition for your embryo 🥰

@Coops0406 I totally understand,I'd be so impatient too... the whole journey feels like a neverending waiting game! I hope they do fly by! Do you have anything comine up to keep your mind off this (if that's even possible)?

@2mumlife that phrase is the best one :) very glad the plan is clear now and keeping everything crossed for a positive outcome for you - I'm always reassured by the fact that they can tweak the dose as they go, but hopefully they won't even need to do that! xx

I found it quite ironic that I spent 2.5 years praying my period wouldn't arrive, then starting IVF and being excited for it because I knew that was the start 😂 such a strange feeling

@AliAutumn Welcome to the thread! Sounds like you'll be on a FET (assuming its embryos that are frozen, rather than frozen eggs and sperm seperately?). Good luck!

@Coops0406 That's interesting you're moving to Ovaleap too. Did they explain why? I was told I had a choice yesterday and had to make an on the spot decision, so I've gone with trying something new as the consultant said either should work. We don't get a baseline scan at our clinic, so we're completely blind until day 8 of stims which is the first time they'll see me. We're still negotiating if we do a single or dual trigger - my clinic doesn't recommend the dual trigger but says we can do that if I want, which I'm tempted by to give us the best chance we possibly can. I wont be at any risk of OHSS given my previous IUIs and IVF cycle, but they've said as its an antag procotol and my AMH is higher it has to be a freeze all.

@beachbum85 I've never had a dose tweak during the cycle - I only ever make it to the first monitoring appointment and then they always make me trigger early, but hoping that different this time as they've agreed to push me longer this time fingers crossed

@2mumlife Yes, they have eggs and sperm frozen separately. The clinic will defrost them during my cycle and put one in fresh and freeze any leftovers I believe.

@AliAutumn Ah ok! It probably is still like a FET for you then really. Fingers crossed the couple get some embryos, thats always a nerve wracking point.

@Coops0406 So sorry to hear that your cycle has been delayed. Someone else I know was delayed due to a cyst too, she was able to start the following month.

I’m on a short protocol and am on my second day of Fostimon 300iu and Letrozole. Baseline scan is tomorrow, very nervous about it and what they might find.

Still no sign of AF for me

Hi all- thanks to everyone who posted reassuring messages about the injections. Meds arrived on Friday and I watched through some videos about how to use fostimon, which is the one I'll start first. So feeling a bit more confident about the mechanics of it all- not sure if I prefer to do it myself or get oh to- unfortunately he's not always the most gentle with his hands in a doesn't know his own strength kind of way!
@Coops0406 Sorry you've been delayed, so frustrating when you are ready to go, but good they are keeping a close eye and working to give you the best chance

@KatRee @Hansoo me, too, just waiting for af. Thought it was supposed to come today but clinic said suprecur might affect my cycle and I've been on that for a week now. Today was the first time I've given myself an injection. I normally get DH to do it, but he went to work early. It was ok. It helps that the needle is super tiny!

@KatRee I have 5 follicles and a couple more very tiny ones.

I'm still waiting for AF too. I usually get a peak on the ovulation strips on day 14 - day 16 and AF then comes around 11 days later. On day 13 of this cycle I started using a new batch of sticks, they were a bit dodgy and the screen flooded first then showed 2 lines day 14 so I assumed I ovulated then. Here I am on day 29, still no AF, my app tells me I'm 4 days late (if the sticks were right). Took a test this morning and of course it was negative. I'm literally just waiting on AF to start stims. Whyyyy is it this month it decides to come late?!

Halfway through my first frozen FET, after a fresh transfer gave us our son (2). A different clinic to last time and the downregging/ Buserelin (which I didn’t have the first time around) is absolutely horrendous! Currently waiting for my second bleed so I can get on with scans etc. Trying to stay very very pragmatic about it all and not get any hopes or expectations up. Just happy to be among friends who get it!

@Misty84 that sounds like a good start! I had 5 at my first scan last round, and then 11 the following scan so things seem to change quite quickly whilst stimming

@2mumlife that sounds quite stressful being asked to trigger after the first appointment! keeping everything crossed for you that these changes srt things out for you xx

@Bluebonnet3 I'm also on Suprecur and it delayed my period by 4-5 days... hope yours shows soon too
