We've just booked for our second round to start August 2nd with egg collection September 8th.

I was on the Jan/Feb thread earlier this year.

@KatRee same - testing Weds and have the day off work. I just say lots said the 2WW was hard, I didn't realise just how hard. Sending you positivity

@MollyVanDer so glad the spotting stopped and with any luck it was the same cause as @SerendipitySunshine so may be a good omen!!

@hansoo good luck with early testing, but I would be wary of some of the ones from Amazon because I think they can be a bit rubbish (some of the cheap ovulation sticks definitely are)….I was recommended first response for early testing when I was hoping for my pre-ivf unicorn bfp .

My test day is Saturday! Not sure why it’s so much later than @hansoo and @katree as we had ET on the same day but I don’t think I’ll test earlier as I’d rather test on a Saturday and not have to worry about trying to focus on work after a negative result….

I was just wondering what others have been told about having sex post-egg transfer? Our clinic said it was fine with a condom and we’re on holiday so we have been but I was then reading a list of dos and donts post-ET and it said no sex for 2 weeks!! Has anyone else heard this?

@99pctpractice I also saw the no-sex rule as an orgasm might disrupt implanatation but my clinic didn't mention anything like that! Doesn't make much sense to me as if you're trying normally then you wouldn't necessarily stop the day after ovulation, but who knows?!

@KatRee @MollyVanDer I had taken the day off last time and will definitely do the same this time if it's a weekday test - it makes things so much easier to have the day to yourself. Although fingers crossed that it'll be the best news :)

Hi @99pctpractice I asked after transfer and was told nobody had asked that question before! I can't believe that. The nurse went to ask a doctor, and came back and said I could any time we wanted as long as I felt ok. I felt fine, but we were sure that wasn't right so waited about a week.

Egg collection done and wow I was not expecting how uncomfortable I would be afterwards!
We got 17 eggs though!

Thanks all! My clinic said sex was absolutely fine, I am nervous about it as I know other clinics say not to. I asked and they said it’s to do with sperm getting in there rather than anything else so with a condom is advised.

@99pctpractice - yes, that's strange it's a bit later. Maybe it depends on the trigger and how soon they expect it to be out of your body to get a reliable result? I know different protocols involve different kinds of trigger and different doses. I think I'd wait until sat too if I were you. I'm already finding it hard to focus on work

I was told no 'intercourse' for 12 days after ET, but no idea why. I hear as with most things different clinics say different things. I'm sure I read somewhere that there was a study on it that suggested semen was actually good for the embryo weirdly enough.

@smarty14 - congratulations on that fantastic number of eggs. Hope you manage to take it easy for a few days now

ET went really smoothly and we have a 4BB on board! I'm so relieved and feeling calm and positive :) we have 4 early blasts that they'll monitor until tomorrow to see if any will make it to freeze but, even if not, this is better than I expected!

@smarty14 I hope you're feeling better and you were happy with your fertilisation news xx

@beachbum85 congratulations on your ET! Are you resting up today or feeling more active? I feel guilty for lying about not doing much but I feel quite sick and low energy.

Thank you @Gensola! I'm on my way home from acupuncture and will just be responding to some emails this afternoon. I'm invited to a friend for dinner, but it's close by and will be pretty chilled. I'm sorry you're not feeling very well, but try not to feel guilty - just do (or don't do) whatever makes you feel best. Hopefully it's implantation taking up all your energy xx

Hi everyone, have been reading as many updates as possible. Good to see some ETs, some frosties and lots of eggs!

Had my egg retrieval yesterday and ended up back in hospital for the night with pain. Had nothing like this the first time. Had severe abdominal pain, trouble breathing, not passing much urine. All my bloods have come back fine this morning and I’m home now.

Got 10 eggs and 8 have fertilised. Next update is Thursday. Last round we got 11 and 6 fertilised.

@foodiefil that's a great number of eggs and feritlisation rate but that pain sounds horrendous - I'm so sorry it was so bad for you this time round :( great to hear you're back home and I hope you're recovering well. Everything crossed for positive updates over the next few days xx
