@Goldilocks2528 hopefully they can be accommodating for you. If you've signed them all before then you know what you are signing! I hope it all works out for you. Let us know how it goes x

beachbum85 · 01/09/2021 11:18

@Gensola congrats! 12 is really excellent :) I can understand the worry but hopefully this means they're better quality than last time! And I guess you don't need a freeze all now?!

@Nerdalert we are all crazy in this situation Grin best of luck and let us know!

Thank you @Goldilocks2528! Good luck for tomorrow as well and I hope they're quick and efficient and you can get there asap 🤞🏼🤞🏼

@ngy21 good luck with starting stims tonight :)

@tourist36 I'm so sorry it's been this hard :( the 2ww is really the worst time, but it's still a bit early to take it as over. One day at a time... I have everything crossed for a happy surprise for you, and we're here when you need to vent xx

Gensola · 01/09/2021 11:21

@beachbum85 yes, no need for a freeze all now. Procedure itself was done under sedation so I didn’t feel a thing. A bit uncomfortable now, especially when going for a wee. Hoping that will settle soon!
I’ll find out tomorrow how many fertilised, last time we had a massive drop off (22 mature eggs and 11 fertilised!) so hoping they’re more receptive this time!

beachbum85 · 01/09/2021 11:28

@Gensola that's great that you can go ahead with a fresh transfer :) glad you didn't feel anything but I hope the discomfort settles quickly. Drink lots of water and take it easy... and very best of luck for a positive update tomorrow! I'll be looking for it as soon as I'm up from my sedation, which I'm quite looking forward to haha xx

TanBr · 01/09/2021 11:31

Goldilocks maybe tell your boss, they may be able to take a little pressure off. At least then you won’t have to also deal with the guilts. Deep breaths lovely

Nerdalert · 01/09/2021 12:29

Update to embryos: out of the 7 fertilised, 6 cleaved and 5 out of 6 of those cleaved are labelled top quality. I won't know how they progress now til the morning of transfer! Roll on Saturday!

Good luck to those on collection and transfer this week and lots of positivity and patience for those on 2WW. 🍍❤

Gensola · 01/09/2021 13:25

@Nerdalert congratulations, that’s fantastic!

2mumsandason · 01/09/2021 13:30

@Nerdalert great news 😊 well done!

Goldilocks2528 · 01/09/2021 13:32

Thanks @TanBr. I didn't tell him last time, until I miscarried and I had to. I just know he will worry if I do, plus he will start worrying about what will happen if it does work again and then I'll be off on mat leave! I'd rather keep quiet if poss. Easier all round I think! Luckily he is on holiday w/c 13 Sept.... when my next appointment and egg collection are scheduled for. Good timing!!

Goldilocks2528 · 01/09/2021 13:33

@Nerdalert What brilliant news!!!!!!

CheesyBug · 01/09/2021 13:39

Hello to everyone here! Smile Sending you all love on your journeys! Flowers

I have 4 blastocysts frozen from EC in July on a freeze-all cycle, waiting for my second period and our meeting with the consultant on the 7th.

Goldilocks2528 · 01/09/2021 13:42

Hi @CheesyBug, best of luck for your frozen cycle. The 7th will be here before you know it.

KatRee · 01/09/2021 13:53

Wow- this thread is moving quickly now- I've been back at work since yesterday, so taking a while to catch up

Welcome @tourist36 and @MollyVanDer I'm also in tww, - first time for me. Feeling ok so far, but I know I'm going to really struggle as testing day approaches. 🤞for you

@TanBr - congratulations on your BFP- that's amazing news!

@SerendipitySunshine - congratulations to you too! Lovely news

@ngy21 - Great to hear you're starting stims- hope it all goes smoothly

@Gensola - congratulations on the 12 eggs- that's a really good number to start with, so hopefully at least some will make it

@Nerdalert congratulations on your EC and excellent rate of fertilisation!

Thanks for checking in @Hansoo

I am doing OK for now. The clinic called yesterday afternoon and they are freezing one more blastocyst that made it- so have one inside me and one frosty. I'm very very grateful for that, but a little concerned by my drop-off rate and decline in quality of the remaining embryos and what that means. It's been such a rollercoaster- I was feeling so positive after EC, we had quite a few more eggs than what I was advised to expect before we began the process, an excellent rate of fertilisation (10 out of 12 mature eggs) everything was looking good on day 2 and I think the clinic were expecting great things, but then it went down hill in terms of quality from then onwards and I was very lucky to end up with anything to transfer. I'm just hoping it really does take one and one of my survivors has it in them despite not being the best grades, but I'm worried

Gensola · 01/09/2021 13:56

@KatRee I know exactly what you mean. My best friend just had her baby boy after IVF and she only had two embryos, one good and one average quality. I keep thinking about her when I worry about drop off.

KatRee · 01/09/2021 13:58

Thanks @Gensola - it's stories like that that keep me going. I hope we have stories like that of our own one day x

beachbum85 · 01/09/2021 14:20

@Nerdalert excellent cleavage rate and quality!! congrats :)

@KatRee glad to hear you're back to work and doing well so far!
I can totally understand your worry but they wouldn't freeze an embryo if they didn't think it had a good chance, and they usually transfer the best one, so that one must definitely have a chance too... Everything crossed for you xx

Hello again @CheesyBug and nice to hear you're getting ready for your FET soon! Lots of love and best of luck back to you xx

SerendipitySunshine · 01/09/2021 14:26

@KatRee - if it helps, we just had two BB embryos - one is our perfect DD, the other was frozen and I had transferred two weeks ago and is a BFP. Way too early to say how that'll turn out, but it can happen. Fingers crossed for you.

ngy21 · 01/09/2021 14:27

@Goldilocks2528 thanks! good luck for your scan tomorrow, i was in and out in 10 mins (they just confirmed DR and confirm start date for stims, and booked in day 8 and day 10 scan) - if all is well i can't imagine you will need to be any longer?! So hopefully you won't be late/too late for your event.

@2mumsandason thank you! I will be starting them in the evening, so will be doing buserelin and stims at same time. I am on ovaleap :)

2mumsandason · 01/09/2021 16:01

@ngy21 that sounds similar to what I will be doing, but I will be on menopur alongside the bruserelin. Hope tonight goes ok for you! 😊

KatRee · 01/09/2021 17:33

Thanks @beachbum85

@SerendipitySunshine - that's so lovely! 🤞for your second BB

I don't mean to whinge because I'm really lucky to get 2 blastocysts at all- before we even decided to go ahead with ivf we were warned that there was a fairly high chance we wouldn't get any. I guess I just wasn't expecting to get a good number to begin with and then watch them drop off and maybe reading too much in to that. I'm just a bit of a catastrophiser when it comes to my own efforts to ttc

I hope the rest of you are feeling positive today! X

Gensola · 01/09/2021 17:40

@KatRee I’ve read that decline on day 3 and beyond is to do with sperm quality - do you have MFI? Sorry if you’ve said and I have missed it.
DH brought me profiteroles but then lost all his brownie points for that when he told me he had drunk all the Campari last night, I was planning a Campari and tonic later as my post egg collection treat. Maybe the universe is telling me to stay off the booze Grin

MollyVanDer · 01/09/2021 19:07

@KatRee @TanBr how are you holding up on 2WW ladies?

We almost convinced ourselves to do a pregnancy test but resisted.

I'm day 7 and apprehensive....

KatRee · 01/09/2021 19:13

@Gensola We don't have any identified male factor. I think we are technically unexplained- I have one blocked tube, but the other side is clear
Having said that, I'm thinking that maybe the semen sample we used for this cycle maybe wasn't the best quality. It was all a bit odd as OH felt much more comfortable and confident producing it at home and the clinic said that was fine as long as we got it to the clinic within an hour. He handed it to the lab about 50 minutes after producing it, which seems to me like a really long time. Also they told him to ejaculate on the Monday evening, so a day and a half before EC and then abstain before producing the sample we used, which seemed strange as I'm sure when the wanted one for analysis they said to abstain between 2 and 5 days to get the best quality.

Oh, I'd be so annoyed if OH drank my treats! I think after EC is perfect time for a little tipple

KatRee · 01/09/2021 19:17

@MollyVanDer I'm only at the start of it, so finding it a bit easier than the wait to hear about the embryos for now, but know it will change as it gets closer! I am booked for blood test at the clinic one week today.
Are you doing a fresh transfer with your own eggs ?(ie, do you risk a false positive from the trigger shot if you test too early?)

I'm on NHS not private so blood tests aren't done unfortunately. I'm a fresh embryo transfer so yes they advised against testing early for risk of false positive. 6 days, 8 hours and 54 mins until we test Confused
