Starting this thread early!

We've just booked for our second round to start August 2nd with egg collection September 8th.

I was on the Jan/Feb thread earlier this year.

Come join me :)

Thank you @2mumlife and @KatRee!
First Gonal F injection was nice and smooth - so much better than Buserelin, it's to be back to the shots that I almost can't feel Grin

@Gensola how nice to have a success story from your mum :)
I hope your period comes soon so you can start! xx

Misty84 · 18/08/2021 09:52

None of my eggs made it to embryos.

Good luck to everyone else.

Hansoo · 18/08/2021 10:06

@Misty84 I'm so sorry to hear this.

beachbum85 · 18/08/2021 10:37

@Misty84 ohhh I'm really, really sorry :( this process can be so shitty... sending you lots of love xx

ngy21 · 18/08/2021 11:00

@Misty84 i'm so sorry to hear this...

ngy21 · 18/08/2021 11:01

@beachbum85 other than that one time i have been good! I have checked with the clinic and they have advised me to continue with the correct dose of buserelin and that i haven't compromised anything (which is good) but when AF comes they will do a scan to see if everything has shut down. So from this scan it will determine when I can start my stims. Hopefully I haven't delayed anything!!! Did you find that your cycle went ahead as normal or did you have to have a few more days of DR since you took a little less than advised?

@Hansoo looks like i am just continuing as normal with the correct dose :)

@2mumlife how is everything going?

@Gensola i know twin pregnancy and IVF itself is high risk - but completely agree with you, you've come this far you would rather to be with twins than to be without a baby. That's a nice success story about your mum! How is everything going for you so far? Did AF arrive yet? I am still waiting on mine... getting cramps every so often like it wants to start but nothing yet. No spotting or anything...

Gensola · 18/08/2021 11:53

@ngy21 no sign of AF yet but my boobs are very sore so any day now I reckon! Have all my meds ready to go, can’t wait to start!

ngy21 · 18/08/2021 12:56

@Gensola exciting times! i can't wait for you to start - i think you will be slightly ahead of me by a week or so!

Goldilocks2528 · 18/08/2021 14:27

@Misty84 I am so so sorry to read this. Sending you so much love x

Gensola · 18/08/2021 16:35

@Misty84 I am so sorry - I have had two failed rounds and it is just totally shit Flowers

ChasingRainbow · 18/08/2021 17:00

Hi ladies!
The lovely @ngy21 suggested I join this group so hope you all dont mind if I jump in! I am starting short protocal on Monday - we are doing ICSI. This is our first time IVF ttc dc#1 and honestly, i dont know what to expect.
Iv had 4 x back to back natural losses unfortunately - with the last it was ectopic and I lost my tube. Since then, we havent been able to conceive. They also found endometriosis which I didnt know I had.

So thats it - hoping I can at least support some of you in lieu of past experience! And of course, i will probably be looking for some info too Wink

Wishing everyone on here every success - hoping Sept 21 is a great month for us all! X

Nerdalert · 18/08/2021 20:34

@Misty84 im so sorry to hear this! Sending lots of love your way.

@beachbum85 I honestly haven't felt much different! I love the injector pen though, makes life so much easier! Less buserelin means less nausea and headaches! Still don't have much of an appetite! How are you doing?

I have my PCR test Thursday then isolation til transfer day! I have my tracking scan on Monday to make sure we are on track for trigger day!

@ems2021 congrats!! Amazing news!

Still catching up with everyone's news over the last few days but hope everyone is doing okay! 🍍

KatRee · 19/08/2021 07:35

@Misty84 Sending you more hugs this morning - I hope you're doing as ok as can be xx

KatRee · 19/08/2021 08:00

Hello @ChasingRainbow I'm so sorry to hear about your losses.
I am also ttc#1 and this is my first ivf cycle. I have a blocked tube and suspected endo, although the endo has never feel diagnosed through any medical procedure, so not sure if it's all in my head or not!
Wishing you a successful cycle!

@Nerdalert How long till transfer day? ie how long do you have to isolate for?

Ladies, yesterday was day 5 of stims for me and I started taking the blocker, cetrotide. I got myself a bit stressed out over it- first because it said not to use it if the powder in the vial had changed appearance- well, I didn't know what it looked like to begin with, but it certainly looked different from fostimon- kind of more disintegrated. Then, I thought the nurse had told me to try and use it straight from the fridge, but leave it 20 mins if I couldn't stand it cold- but the leaflet said it must be left unrefridgerated for 30 mins before use. Then the powder took ages to dissolve and again, the leaflet specifically said don't use if there are particles in there or it's cloudy. Eventually it cleared up and I did my thing, but managed to lose quite a bit when I injected as apparently I hadn't screwed the needle on tightly and it leaked out!
Did I completely mess up, or am I overthinking? I did an opk this morning to check for LH which is what it's supposed to be blocking and it was completely negative, so hoping it's doing it's thing ...

ngy21 · 19/08/2021 10:04

@KatRee i would probably check with the nurses if you can! But i imagine nothing is for certain until you go in for your tests and scans? I recently had to contact my nurse due to taking too little of my buserelin for down reg (the plunger on the needle, 2 black lines, i have been measuring from the wrong one....) and they reassured that i hadn't compromised anything but will let me know once i go in for my scan (when AF arrives) and to continue taking my correct dosage.

I imagine if you go in for scans and they still think you need to take more cetrotide, the process maybe delayed by another day or so? This is what my nurse told me and this is the worse case scenario!

Nerdalert · 19/08/2021 11:47

@katree with everything going to plan transfer day should be 1st sept! Ill find out Monday at my tracking appointment if we are on track

beachbum85 · 19/08/2021 12:28

@ngy21 so glad to hear everything's been fine since then :) Everything had gone ahead as planned for me, so fingers crossed that you haven't caused any delays! Hopefully your period shows soon so you can have the scan and put your mind at ease xx

@Gensola I hope yours starts soon too so you can start! :)

@ChasingRainbow welcome! very sorry about your losses and that you find yourself here - you're not alone! wishing you the vest best of luck

@Nerdalert glad you're having less nausea and headaches! I have less headaches too since reducing the Buserelin :) no effect on my appetite though (unfortunately?) and I seem to be bloating up pretty quickly, but I feel good so far
Has your clinic asked you to isolate? Ours hasn't tested us, but I'll get swabbed just before EC so I'm being cautious just in case
Good luck for Monday's scan - mine is also then!

@KatRee that sounds really stressful! My nurse had said that a bit less doesn't make much of a difference as the doses are approximative and don't take into consideration a person's body structure, for example, or how much they might absorb, etc. Always best to contact them and double check though

I hope everyone else is doing well! @foodiefil @Goldilocks2528 @itsmschanandlerbong @Lotusflower1990000 and everyone else how are you?

Nerdalert · 19/08/2021 12:36

@beachbum85. Yeah I had to send a PCR last week and one today. Both hubby and I have to isolate til transfer. I would rather isolate than have to cancel my cycle at this point x

beachbum85 · 19/08/2021 12:49

@Nerdalert oh of course!! it's just a couple of weeks anyway, and totally worth it :)
I was actually quite worried because they didn't ask us to isolate and my partner goes into the office a couple of times a week, and a cancelled cycle because of COVID would tip me over the edge after all this I think. But in the end they won't test him, I've had COVID, and we're both fully vaccinated, so we're definitely avoiding risks but I feel a little bit calmer about it all...

Actually, a question for everyone: is anyone's partner allowed to be there for embryo transfer? It wasn't really a pleasant experience for me last time (I was kind of in shock because none of our embryos had progressed as expected) and it would really help if my partner could be around if we get to that point, but my clinic said no due to COVID restrictions...

Nerdalert · 19/08/2021 12:58

@beachbum85 yes he is allowed to transfer and early viability scan. Then he has to do his part on collection day 😂 he has to isolate with me and LFT on the morning of appointments

Gensola · 19/08/2021 13:02

@beachbum85 my husband was allowed with me for egg collection and both transfers. My second transfer was agonisingly painful as the woman doing it didn’t have a bloody clue and I am so glad he was there. The first one was only a little uncomfortable, so I wasn’t expecting it!

beachbum85 · 19/08/2021 15:19

Thanks @Nerdalert and @Gensola, that's really helpful. I'll definitely ask the question again then...
Oh no, I was quite uncomfortable at my first transfer and now hoping it won't be more painful this time! Much rather be sedated any day haha

ngy21 · 19/08/2021 15:43

@beachbum85 thanks, i hope so too!!!

Goldilocks2528 · 19/08/2021 15:50

Hey @beachbum85, I'm ok thank you for asking. Day 2 of buserelin and norethisterone. Feeling apprehensive but trying to stay positive! Hope you are doing ok.

With regards to collection and transfer, no afraid not. Last time we were not allowed due to Covid, he was allowed to wait for me in the recovery room each time but could not come in with me. The clinic have told me their policy is the same this time, which upsets me a lot as if there is anything to transfer, I would love him to see it and he can't. They won't even let me take a photo of the moment it drops into place to show him later :( Quite upsetting that he has to miss something so important.

Goldilocks2528 · 19/08/2021 15:51

@KatRee That sounds SO stressful!! Did you chat to the clinic? I hope your next does goes better x
