IVF - egg collection June (starting down regulation in May)

Luz192 · 07/05/2021 15:58

Hi ladies, would be great to chat to anyone who is about to start down regulation, in prep for stims later in the month and egg collection early June.

I start Norethisterone tomorrow. Will be at UCLH/CRGH, first ever IVF. We have MFI.

Mostly terrified of the needles! I have this irrational fear that I could puncture an organ - someone tell me that's not possible?! lol

@Luan82 congratulations!!! so so happy for you. amazing news. hope the next 8 months go all smoothly for you. :) . when is your 1st scan?

@Coops0406 glad your getting the answers you need. our bodies are so complicated, sometimes one thing different can make the results change significantly. all the best with everything.

@Fabsco one more sleep, hopefully yours is good news too. x

Fabsco · 06/07/2021 11:11

@Aim2912 Thank you so much for your kind wishes! I am so glad I have found this forum as everybody has been so nice and supportive🥰

Luan82 · 06/07/2021 11:29

@Aim2912 because of my history they have got me in early (thank goodness) so it's a week on Friday x

Fabsco · 08/07/2021 18:06

Hello ladies,
Just thought of coming here to give you a wee update that I got a BFP yesterday🌈✨😍
Of course there's a long way ahead but we are excited to be at this stage and celebrating every step of the way. Good luck to all the ladies going through treatment and also the ones taking some time to recover/get stronger. Back in February, after that dreadful embryologist call, I never thought I would be where we are today. We'll get there!

Luan82 · 08/07/2021 21:02

@Fabsco amazing news! Congrats!! ❤️🤞🏼🌈x

Aim2912 · 09/07/2021 00:26

@Fabsco thats great news, congratulations!!! I'm so glad that I'm hearing all the good news stories from this group. Keeps the rest of us positive. Especially for those who's 1st attempt didn't work. Smile

Fabsco · 09/07/2021 07:15

@Luan82 Thank you so much! I hope you're feeling fine and looking forward to the next steps of the journey😍

Fabsco · 09/07/2021 07:21

@Aim2912 Thank you so much! Exactly! Reading so many positive stories on MumsNet after my first cycle gave me hope that there was a chance for us.❤️

Luan82 · 10/07/2021 08:25

Just checking in to see how everyone is? My early scan is on Friday and though I'm so so so grateful for the positive result if I'm honest I'm absolutely terrified too- I thought after seeing two lines that I would be so relieved but a history of ectopic and the higher chances of another means this is just the first step for me - it's so crucial that things go well at the scan otherwise I'll be rushed into the EPU .... Sending lots of love and hugs to everyone going through this journey still, those yet to start and those with scans and those gearing up to cycle again - we got this !! ❤️❤️❤️

Fabsco · 26/07/2021 17:41

Hi ladies, I thought of coming back here earlier, but unfortunately I don't have good news. I went for my early pregnancy scan today at 6w6d and they could see a yolk sac but no baby. They asked me to return next week for a rescan but the doctor was quite honest that, at this stage, they were expecting to see a baby with heartbeat. Obviously I am devastated. I really thought this was our rainbow baby. :(

Aim2912 · 26/07/2021 18:05

@Fabsco so so sorry, it's really is hard all this but try hang in there, as I was in a similar situation, but they then found a heart beat at 8 weeks. Unfortunately I still ended up miscarring later on. But what I'm trying to say is there might be a chance even if its a small one. So try to stay positive and strong. Will pray for you. X

Fabsco · 26/07/2021 19:32

@aim2912 Thank you so much for your kind words! That's why I love this forum and all the support that we give each other. I am reading so many positive stories about rescans that showed a fetal pole and heartbeat, but the doctor today was very pessimistic and said that the chances are very slim. :(

Coops0406 · 27/07/2021 10:17

Hi ladies, just wanted to pop on and see how everyone is doing.

@Fabsco I'm so sorry to hear this, this whole journey is like so many hurdles to get past...remain positive, you will get there. Sending you lots of hugs 🥰

@Aim2912 @Luan82 @Luz192 @Ofpalestsilver I hope you are all doing well ❤️ can't wait to hear more updates!

We have got our second review meeting today from the failed cycle. We redid the AMH test as I responded so poorly but it is still decent at 20.5 so hopefully we will just get put on a better protocol with stronger stimulants!! I will keep you posted 😊

Ofpalestsilver · 27/07/2021 10:23

Hey @Fabsco so sorry to hear that. Hoping upon hope that it is good news for you ultimately.

Thanks for checking in @Coops0406 All progressing well for me. I’m currently off work sick because I’m so ill and I’ve been working like a demon (14 hour days) and I’m so unwell. Gotta look after my lil embryo! I have my 12 week scan in a few weeks. All looked ok on viability scan except a little bit small.

Ofpalestsilver · 27/07/2021 10:23

How are you @Luan82? Any more news?

When will you start your next protocol @Coops0406

Luan82 · 27/07/2021 10:32

@Coops0406 @Ofpalestsilver thanks for checking in ladies, ❤️ we had two scans one at six and one at seven weeks - the little babe was in the right place and they found a strong heartbeat at seven weeks so I'm officially discharged ! We still can't quite believe we were so lucky as this was our only round with only one viable embryo to transfer - I've got my first midwife appointment next week 😬!! Feeling very blessed that this may well be our rainbow 🌈 babe - for everyone that's struggling I hope our journey gives you hope - in two years I've never had a positive test (except the ectopic) and because I'm likely going to experience early menopause time was such a relevant factor for us - we honestly weren't optimistic of my chances even through IVF but even though we only collected three eggs from seven follicles it really does only take one !! Sending everyone love and hugs - this journey is not easy !! 😘Xxx

Coops0406 · 27/07/2021 11:02

@Ofpalestsilver @Luan82 I'm so happy for you! This is just amazing ❤️ It is so good to hear positive stories, it keeps the hope strong. Look after yourselves! 🥰

Fabsco · 27/07/2021 11:21

@Ofpalestsilver @luan82 So happy for you and hopeful that my rainbow baby will come too. ❤️

Coops0406 · 28/07/2021 22:28

Hi guys, we had a positive review. It was nice to have a consultant who we felt was interested and wanted to answer all our questions. I will be put on Max dose of stims next time, but rather than meriofert it will be ovaleap (which is one of the synthetic FSH drugs apparently, so just trying it as it's different to the first cycle). I think it will be 450 rather than 225. Will hopefully be able to start this cycle with the norithisterone around day 17 (but not as long as last time which was 3 weeks, more like 10 days) then start stims when AF comes after that...so probably looking at September. Trigger will be buselerin so will have to be a freeze all (providing we get some!). So I reckon the earliest anything could go back in may be Dec/jan. So quite a long wait but I'm just excited to get going again!

I hope you are all well and managing with the emotions of your journeys. Stay positive and hopeful always ❤️

Fabsco · 04/08/2021 08:51

Hi ladies, how are you all doing? I came back here to let you know that there was an embryo with a heartbeat at the rescan yesterday.❤️ Of course we are still cautious and were asked to return for another scan next week, but it was definitely surprising given what we were expecting. This is such a rollercoaster! I hope you're all doing well and looking forward to the next steps of treatment or pregnancy.

Fabsco · 11/08/2021 18:55

Dear all, unfortunately baby didn’t show any development and there was no heartbeat at today’s scan. We are heartbroken but time will heal our hearts. Thank you once again for your messages and good luck with everything. ❤️

Luz192 · 19/09/2021 16:46

I just came to check how people on here were doing - @Fabsco I'm so sorry to hear - apologies, I didn't get a notification when you posted, so I'm sorry for the late message, but I hope you're managing OK. It must have been a really difficult time.

@Coops0406 how is your second cycle going?
@Ofpalestsilver @Aim2912 @ivf2021 @Luan82 thinking of you all!

I plan to have my FET in the next week or so!

Aim2912 · 20/09/2021 01:47

Hi @Luz192 its good to hear your having your transfer soon. Did you go for the natural cycle or medicated?
I'm doing the pre cycle meds at the moment with tranfer expected mid October.
What post transfer support will you taking. I've been prescribed with 3 forms of progesterone I was shocked!

@Fabsco so So sorry about your loss, and sorry for my delayed response I also didnt get any notification about your post on here. I know its heart wrenching, I hope you your recovering ok and come back stronger then ever.

@Coops0406 hope your next cycle went well.

Luz192 · 20/09/2021 09:00

@Aim2912 exciting! Not too long to go. Lol I knew about 2 - the lubion and the cyclogest, but what's the 3rd?!

They let me do the natural cycle yes :) Right now they are monitoring me for ovulation, and then will hopefully transfer 5 days after that's detected. They do ask that I still take progesterone after (cyclogest only) & the blood thinners.

Hi all - sorry for late reply.

@Fabsco I'm so sorry that you've been through such a tough time. this journey is difficult. people who haven't experienced it just don't know how strong we are.

@Coops0406 hope all going well with the cycle.

thanks @Luz192 i'm doing well. i'm very very sick though and have been for the entire pregnancy. but i cannot complain because i've been very fortunate. i really could do with a break from this endless nausea and headaches though but if that's what it takes.
