Couldn't see a thread for May so I thought I'd start one!

Anyone else doing their cycle in May? I just got my calendar through and all the injections look extremely Not Fun (this is my first time doing it) 😕

@TheSnufflet thank you as @Crazydoglady123 said I've literally just had a laparoscopy (last week). Covid could be a good one thank you. Or I might just tell them 🤷🏾‍♀️ a couple from the group know it's on the cards but don't know fundings approved and it's all starting next month. Maybe I could just say I'm having EC but not planning on transferring yet for a few more months to lose weight etc.
@clolo hey 👋🏾 I wondered if you were over here. Nice to hear from you, hope you get to start next month!

@clolo the other one we're on goes so blimming fast doesn't it! I feel bad not being about to respond to all and tend to just respond to tagged posts.
Yeah it's madness it's all happened so soon at last! I'm scared about trying now as was due to start cd21 of this cycle so I won't be able to test before starting the injections. The nurse said we can still ttc but it's a bit nerve racking injecting those sorts of hormones into me if implantation is about to occur 😬 feel so torn!! 😩

@TheSnufflet I'm scheduled for egg collection week commencing 24th May, hopefully. I heard recently that just over 1% of births in the UK are the result of IVF, so it must be quite common especially when you consider all the cycles that don't result in a birth too.

@StrongEagle Welcome! Is this your first IVF cycle? I tend to get quite anxious too, I find keeping myself occupied helps as well as mindfulness and yoga.

@Crazydoglady123 Thanks for the welcome! What dogs do you have? We've an almost 2-year-old lurcher. During our last cycle, we thought, sod it, it probably won't work, let's get a puppy. Our son was born 9 months later...

@notyetamumbuttrying Transfer is normally 2-5 days after egg collection depending on how the embryo's grow. If it clashes with your weekend away you could tell them you're poorly with a UTI or have suddenly been scheduled for minor surgery that's been postponed because of lockdown.

@KayReeves I think people think the idea of a lockdown baby boom is cute but I'm not sure it actually exists in reality. For me the novelty value of lockdown wore off quite some time ago!

I've managed to schedule my medication delivery for Monday and start medication on Wednesday. I have yet to receive my protocol from the clinic, they are leaving everything very last minute. We have almost finished redoing all the consents, it takes hours! One day I will have a cycle with a clinic that has it's administrative shit together. Maybe.

TinyPaws · 23/04/2021 15:07

Oops, just realised I missed a whole page of responses!

@Colo I think not obsessing about IVF is a good thing, I'm bad for obsessing about it though!

@notyetamumbuttrying I'd try personally if the clinic says it's ok, wouldn't want to miss a potential pregnancy opportunity even though I totally understand the worry about all the drugs.

notyetamumbuttrying · 23/04/2021 15:14

@clolo I know! Well technically I'm starting the injections cd17 as I ov cd10/cd11 usually so I'll only be 7dpo and far too early to tell. I'm just gonna have to give it a go and hope it doesn't affect implantation.
@TinyPaws It's more going on the weekend away with 6 girls and trying to hide my lack of drinking. They'll never buy it as I'm the resident piss head 😆
Wow can't believe you have meds before knowing your protocol! Are you nhs or private? I've got the drugs company contacting me on Tuesday. I need them to arrive before the 5th May!
Agree about ttc anyway, I'm going have to. ESP now I've had the laparoscopy so more likely to actually catch now.

TheSnufflet · 23/04/2021 15:25

@notyetamumbuttrying of course you've just had a laparoscopy 🤦 ignore me, I'm a complete idiot and had muddled people up - in fairness there's quite a lot of people in this thread now 🙂

@TinyPaws I saw that statistic too - it's crazy to think of isn't it?

notyetamumbuttrying · 23/04/2021 15:55

@TheSnufflet don't worry! I don't think I've shared that on here yet. Crazy dog lady knows as we're on a couple other threads together. 🙂
Was a great idea though!! X

2mumlife · 23/04/2021 16:23

@TinyPaws Thanks for sharing your experience and the advise you were given. Its really great to hear that some clinics are fine with going ahead whilst you're still breastfeeding. Hopefully you get a good response

@TheSnufflet You're so organised! I'll be ET rather than EC though, as my wee embie's hanging out in the freezer at the mo :) It'll be a weird birthday, we're going to end up being away now on caravan holiday middle of TWW, so I guess thats a distraction.

@StrongEagle Welcome! I took co-enzyme Q10 couple of months before and during stims until EC.

@KayReeves A friend had a baby few days ago, first of 3 babies of friends due over the next couple of months. It sucks.

Welcome everyone else and good luck to everyone!

Crazydoglady123 · 23/04/2021 16:38

@TinyPaws two sausage dogs. What cross is your lurcher?

@notyetamumbuttrying you could see how you feel and your timing and if you want to back out nearer the time use Covid as an excuse or if you do get to go then could you not say you're on some antibiotics so can't drink?

notyetamumbuttrying · 23/04/2021 16:58

@Crazydoglady123 great ideas, thank you! Could always use the op as to the reason for the antibiotics too!

Crazydoglady123 · 23/04/2021 17:09

@notyetamumbuttrying yep secondary infection from the op that needs clearing up 😌 If you do manage to go it'll be good to take your mind of the TWW!

notyetamumbuttrying · 23/04/2021 17:16

@Crazydoglady123 I think it'll be EC day so looking like I'll have to cancel it anyway. All depends how that scan goes.

Crazydoglady123 · 23/04/2021 17:24

@notyetamumbuttrying yeah it's all based on the scans and how you progress. Mine start next week every other day from Monday 😬

RazzleDazz1e · 23/04/2021 17:25

Catching up with everyone, but had all my medication delivered today, ready to start my nasal spray tomorrow!!

@TheSnufflet EC week commencing 31 May!

Tarsette · 23/04/2021 17:40

@TheSnufflet haha, yes I agree, people need to talk about this more!! The first time round, I didn’t tell anyone, not even my parents, but now I seem to have list all I honorions and I’ve told my whole social circle! I do get some silly questions but mostly very supportive reactions and it does feel good to be able to tell people why I am a bloated hormonal mess once I start injections!

RazzleDazz1e · 23/04/2021 17:48

@Tarsette I have been really open with my friends and family about the process as well, although not sure if that is first timer optimism! I am also strangely excited to get started tomorrow- famous last words.

TeaAndCrumpets1 · 23/04/2021 21:26

@TheSnufflet you’re spot on, provisionally booked in for EC a week today, Fri 30th! Just done my 7th dose of stims. Had bloods on Wednesday and they’ve kept me on the same dose. Couple of scans & bloods next week - really hope my little follicles are doing well!

How are those of you who’ve started on stims finding it? Xx

Crazydoglady123 · 23/04/2021 21:54

@TeaAndCrumpets1 I'm on my fourth day of stims and I'm up and down. Having hot flushes in the evening a lot and day 2/3 I felt really nauseous. You know when your mouth waters before you be sick, I felt like that constantly. Today I don't feel so nauseous but my ovaries are starting feeling heavy and twingey especially on my left side but I do have a cyst that side.

FingersXssd83 · 23/04/2021 22:31

First down reg jab done and dusted.

Let's do this ladies 💪🏻💖

JesHope345 · 24/04/2021 07:15

@TeaAndCrumpets1 I’m on my 4th day of stims. I have felt twinges in my right ovary which is the dominant one. I feel a bit bloated as well.

Crazydoglady123 · 24/04/2021 07:55

@JesHope345 oow you're the same timeline as me!

RazzleDazz1e · 24/04/2021 08:18

@2mumlife I think that you are roughly on the same timeline as me.

Had my first 2 nasal sniffs this morning- let the down regulation commence.

We’ve got this ladies!
