Thinking of you @Kamiros.

Kamiros · 10/05/2021 17:16

@comiston34 Interesting. I always thought 4 was too high. Good to know that though.

@florafoxtrot Thank you. Just had my review report. They want to do same thing again as they were more or less happy with how it went.

Scirocco · 10/05/2021 19:54

Feeling so nervous about tomorrow - going for a scan to recheck... something. The clinic aren't really being very clear about what scans are for what. I'm assuming for AFC and checking for obvious abnormalities but communication seems very vague.

florafoxtrot · 10/05/2021 20:25

Are you feeling ok with that approach @Kamiros? You were quite happy with your clinic weren’t you?

Sorry you’re feeling anxious @Scirocco. I’m sure they are just being thorough. Hope it goes well.

Kamiros · 10/05/2021 22:00

@scirocco Sorry you're feeling that way, I think sometimes they forget it's not as routine for us.

@florafoxtrot I think so. They told us we had a 85% chance of not even making it to egg collection so the fact that I had one good quality embryo to transfer was really good for us. I want to speak to them about progesterone levels as I feel like I bled a bit early. They gave me another ovitrelle injection after transfer rather than pessaries. I'm sure they know what they're doing but I want to understand it. Happy to stay with GCRM for this cycle as its already paid for anyway. If it doesn't work we're considering Create given my amh is only 0.3

Thornberry88 · 11/05/2021 13:51

Hi everyone, is anyone on or has been on the Dundee waiting list for IVF? How long did it take to get your letter through for amh bloods from when you were placed on this list. We've been told 6-9months but hoping it's faster.

GemmTryTTC · 12/05/2021 14:25

I am starting Norethisterone on the 20th, and start Stims hopefully on the 2nd of June after my bleed Shock, It's getting real!

Thornberry88 · 12/05/2021 14:54

That's exciting. How long where you on the list for?

GemmTryTTC · 12/05/2021 15:04

@Thornberry88 We had the first doctor appointment at the GCRM at the beginning of December 2020 I believe!

Sorry for being stupid what's the GCRM? How soon after being on the list did you have that appointment? I'm just wondering how long it takes

willithappen · 12/05/2021 18:40

@Thornberry88 I'm Aberdeen so different a bit but I was 7 months on waiting list before I got the 'top of list' appointment and then after that it was a further 2.5 months until starting the process
Times may be a bit less now though as they get through things faster.

itsmschanandlerbong · 15/05/2021 09:58

Hi everyone, hope you're all doing well. Hope it's ok to dip back into this post. AF due Monday or Tuesday, so all being well I should start stims Wednesday or Thursday! It's all feeling so real now 😬😬 been a bit all over the place emotionally this week but I assume that's normal.

Kitekat81 · 16/05/2021 13:51

@itsmschanandlerbong eek, wishing you loads and loads of luck! I'm supposed to be starting stims next week, have been tracking my ovulation so I know when to expect my period, still waiting! Did anyone else have delayed ovulation the cycle before you started ivf? I think my body knows what's coming and is trying to put it off! 🤦‍♀️

GemmTryTTC · 17/05/2021 09:56

@Kitekat81 I am starting stims with my next cycle, with meds to stop/start my period this week before the cycle, and I ovulated a few days late too! I am usually super punctual Hmm
I hope our body stops trolling us, there's no need!

TheDaydreamBelievers · 17/05/2021 11:56

Hello, I was hoping to join and ask some Qs of you all. I'm not quite in the fertility clinics yet but going down that line.

About to be 32 yrs, glasgow area.

Came off pill March 2020. Cycle 1 141 days (no ovulation detected), cycle 2 ovulated CD35 and conceived. Sadly baby died at 11 weeks (no explanation). Next cycles all between 60 and 113 days, no ovulation detected. I clearly have some form of ovulation disorder.

As it stands GP has done bloods twice. No atypical androgens or hormones, except progesterone showed hadnt ovulated (not a surprise). Has referred to gynaecology for a scan (GP not sure what of).

My main queries - 1) what should I expect NHS ggc to do next? 2) is it possible to have clomid or similar prescribed privately? My fear is that I wont hear from gynaecology for 6 mo then they'll scan and tell me to come back after trying for 2years

itsmschanandlerbong · 17/05/2021 20:41

@Kitekat81 and @GemmTryTTC hope you're both not waiting too much longer! Mine came today, so I'm booked in for a scan on Wednesday and start stims from then all going well 😊

@TheDaydreamBelievers you do need to be trying for 1 year before your GP will refer you to the fertility clinic. Your GP can refer you to the fertility clinic directly, you don't need to go via a gynaecologist. They will run some tests and if there is a reason found for why you're not conceiving, then you'll be added to the waiting list for IVF. If a reason hasn't been found then you'll be asked to wait 2 years. There is a Facebook group for people going through fertility treatment in Glasgow, send me a message if you want the details.

TheDaydreamBelievers · 17/05/2021 20:48

Thank you @itsmschanandlerbong - that is maybe why they have referred me to the generic gynaecology. I'm guessing they'll count "how long trying" from sept 2020 (when we last conceived) rather than from march 2020 (when we started trying overall)?

I'd like those details - the reason I'm asking these Qs is that we are considering going private

I think it will be from when you last conceive. I sent you a message with the group details, it's a very active group, I'm sure you'll get lots of helpful advice there.
Kitekat81 · 17/05/2021 21:49

@GemmTryTTC good luck to you starting soon!

@TheDaydreamBelievers sorry I can't help with your question about gynaecology, but wishing you lots of luck, hope you manage to get some help x
