A thread for those who are undergoing infertility investigations / IVF in Scotland 🙂

@pixelflower. Thanks. I'm actually not sure what Fife is, we went private straight away. I have a slightly too high bmi and they wanted us to wait 6 months after my miscarriage before they'd even put me on the list- with a low amh I wasn't prepared to do that, even if we will now be poor forever.

pixelflower · 22/04/2021 14:02

Sorry @Kamiros, should have been clearer, meant the wait to test. It's fully 2 weeks don't remember seeing anyone post another that long.
The BMI thing is so rubbish. I was the fittest and healthiest I'd been in my whole adult life when we started trying and it was TTC that made me too depressed to keep it up.

Kamiros · 22/04/2021 14:23

@pixelflower Sorry, my mistake. Its just one big wait so easily confused.

I know. I've spent my life on and off weightwatchers etc. but it caused me so much stress. Finally saw a nutritionist this year. I've not lost loads but so much healthier and happier.

pixelflower · 22/04/2021 14:33

So many waits in this that it's so easy to get confused. Also you've had a big week! That's great about feeling happier and healthier 💕

florafoxtrot · 26/04/2021 09:28

How is everyone doing? Hope you managed to enjoy some sunshine over the weekend?

My period arrived on Saturday which so yesterday felt really sad. I did get my nurses appointment in for the 5th May though so that's sooner than I was expecting and a good step in the right direction. Just need to make appointments for blood tests for DH and I. I'll do that now! Smile

willithappen · 26/04/2021 13:53

Hi ladies. Hope everyone is well!

Well... I'm 6dp5dt and had a weird urge just to do a test. Was fully prepared for it to be negative as it's still early. I wanted to check the colour of my wee first before testing lol.
I did it, about an hour ago and well...
BFP!!! And it's not a squinter either! I'm in shock!
I know I still have some hurdles to get over and will wait now until on time test date to test again but this is just crazy!
I can't believe it. I have never had even a hint of a BFP with my partner and there's no denying this one. Can't wait til he's home from work now!

@willithappen Congratulations! Wow! Thrilled for you! Do you know how you're going to tell him? Does he know you were thinking about testing?

florafoxtrot · 26/04/2021 14:08

YAY! Congratulations @willithappen! That's amazing news! So chuffed for you! Definitely not a squinter!

Enjoy this moment, you've waited a long time for it and you 100% deserve to feel happy.

willithappen · 26/04/2021 14:48

Thanks everyone!
@pixelflower I will tell him when he gets home from work I think. I was trying to think of fun ways to do it but I don't think I can wait that long haha
He doesn't know I was testing no. Honestly I didn't even plan to test today, I was going to wait until Thursday/Friday but I just had an urge, needed to pee and thought why not give it a shot!

Thanks @florafoxtrot I am definitely going to enjoy this moment! I know there's lots ahead to come and hurdles to get over but getting to this point is incredible! We're unexplained as well so I really thought something would pop up!

Scirocco · 26/04/2021 14:52

Wow! Congratulations!!!

pixelflower · 26/04/2021 14:54

@willithappen It's lovely that despite all the scheduling and stuff that you still get to surprise him, and yourself a bit too! Completely understand how you feel about the hurdles but definitely try and just enjoy it. Today you're pregnant! You've waited a long time and been through a lot to get here.

Kitekat81 · 26/04/2021 14:55

Congratulations @willithappen! I can imagine how amazing it must feel to finally see that line!! 😊😊😊

@willithappen congrats!!!

theotherfossilsister · 27/04/2021 10:58

That is an excellent line @willithappen

So happy for you.

Kamiros · 28/04/2021 22:18

Is 7dp5dt too late for implantation? I'm pretty sure my af has just arrived.

willithappen · 29/04/2021 07:24

@Kamiros were you a frozen transfer again? I read some frozen take a bit longer to implant than a fresh. Was it full flow like a normal period also as I know bleeding in early pregnancy is common also
Fingers crossed for you lovely 🤞🏻

Kamiros · 29/04/2021 07:59

@willithappen. It was a fresh, we only got the one egg and this was our first cycle. It was light last night but heavier and darker this morning. I'm sure it's af as all my bloating has gone down and nausea has gone away. Seems I'm out this cycle.

GemmTryTTC · 29/04/2021 09:16

@Kamiros I'm so sorry! It's a long journey with many ups and downs, lots of self care now!

We were in a bit of a stop, had the consents app on thr 5th and then nothing was heard... we are egg sharing + FET so they had to give us a price as the egg sharing only includes a fresh transfer. I sent multiple messages to the GCRM without answer, they may have been extremely busy, but I sent a half-angry email yesterday and finally got a price, paying today and getting the ball rollling, can't wait!

Something I've learnt on this process, you have to be a pest sometimes to be heard!

willithappen · 29/04/2021 09:38

@Kamiros I'm so sorry lovely, this is such a cruel process to go through and never easy. Take it easy on yourself as best you can. Hopefully you can have an appointment with doctors and get a plan of action for moving forward

I did another FRER this morning with fmu as I haven't used fmu when testing but it was the slightest, very slight, lighter than yesterday's but still darker than that 6dp5dt, I did a clearblue once also which was dark enough but you know the panic of seeing anything lighter and thinking that's it and you are out
I'm not going to be able to relax or believe any of this is actually happening. I need to stop testing. Otd isn't until Wednesday

Kamiros · 29/04/2021 10:19

Thank you. I just need to take a couple of days then I'll be fine. So glad to have you all to talk to though.

@GemmTryTTC Glad things are moving for you. I've found GCRM to be a little variable with communications to be honest. Sometimes they answer really fast and other times they're a nightmare. I think the portal is the best way to get them though.

@willithappen Maybe best to stop testing until then, I get how hard it is though. I don't think any of us will stop worrying until we have the baby in our arms - maybe not even then to be honest.

LabradorMum · 29/04/2021 10:39

Hi @Kamiros sorry to hear your news this morning, have you spoke to the clinic?

Totally agree with all your comments the worry that we go through is just so much 😔

@GemmTryTTC happy to hear you are moving forward 😁

Kamiros · 29/04/2021 10:42

@Labradormum Yes, I've to go in for bloods on Monday as planned just to confirm but she says it's sounds like it's not worked.

LabradorMum · 29/04/2021 10:44

Awww @Kamiros I’m so sorry 🥺 This journey is heart wrenching, you know we are all here to support you anything you need to talk about we will help you best we can. Massive hugs 🤗 take care of yourself.
