A thread for those who are undergoing infertility investigations / IVF in Scotland 🙂

@itsmschanandlerbong really? Wow! Is that with ACS? I've been waiting ages in comparison.

itsmschanandlerbong · 11/03/2021 19:15

@Scirocco if it helps re waiting times, I got added to the waiting list in July 2020 and have my ART appointment next week which means I've reached the top of the waiting list. Sorry to hear things have been more complicated for you, have your thought about counselling to help you to process your news?

itsmschanandlerbong · 11/03/2021 19:17

Oops posted after you, you'd seen my comment to the other post 😊 yeah but I was initially referred by GP in July 2019, seen September 2019 and had a big ovarian cyst that needed removed in December 2019, seen again February 2020 for more tests, then April 2020 appointment was rearranged because of covid (should've been added to the list then) so it feels as though it has taken foreverrrr to get to this point.

itsmschanandlerbong · 11/03/2021 19:18

@Scirocco I'm not doing very well tonight! Comment below meant in reply to you haha.

itsmschanandlerbong · 11/03/2021 19:20

@pixelflower that's exciting! How long until test day?

Scirocco · 11/03/2021 19:33

Wow, sounds like an epic journey for both of us. Sending virtual hugs and good luck vibes.

itsmschanandlerbong · 11/03/2021 19:52

@Scirocco thank you, same to you!

pixelflower · 11/03/2021 21:02

Wow, lots of progress happening.
@Kamiros it's funny, you wait and wait then it suddenly all go. Exciting 🙂
@itsmschanandlerbong Woop woop for top of the list! Testing a week today 😶

willithappen · 12/03/2021 01:26

@Kamiros that's nice and quick for you! It's so strange because we spend soooo much time waiting, that I honestly feel the stims/egg collection went by in the blink of an eye!
2.5 weeks and I will be back to it for FET prep!

My body has been weird since EC! Last three days I had some brown spotting and I have also had lightning crotch which I have never had before in my life but booooy that hurts. Sometimes I wonder if the pain from it will ever stop 😂

GemmTryTTC · 12/03/2021 08:36

@Kamiros Thanks that does help :) Hopefully time flies from here to our appointment!
@willithappen fingers crossed everything goes well and that lightning crotch calms down soon haha

LabradorMum · 12/03/2021 12:11

First baseline done 😅

willithappen · 12/03/2021 13:44

@LabradorMum how did it go?? Everything looking okay?

LabradorMum · 12/03/2021 13:50

Hi @willithappen, yeah so I have 7 follicles I know not a huge amount but I’m happy with that considering my age too, one of my ovaries was hiding in the lining so she said there might be more after I start the meds but as she said it only takes one and I am going with that. Just glad I have some 😂😂

Start gonal tomorrow 🤪

LabradorMum · 12/03/2021 13:50

Sorry @willithappen pressed send before I finished 🤦🏼‍♀️ how are you getting on?

willithappen · 12/03/2021 14:38

@LabradorMum that's some good numbers! Smaller numbers usually get better quality eggs too!
How are you feeling about starting gonal f tomorrow? My main advice would be to try set it up a bit in advance so you don't panic if anything goes wrong. The pen is the easiest part actually. I used to to cetroleix first and then give myself gonal f after as a well done hahah

I'm good! Other than getting lightning crotch and thinking I'm away to die anytime I have a bowl movement 🙈 another month before I'm near transfer time so I think you'll get your transfer before me too hah

Kamiros · 12/03/2021 14:55

@LabradorMum That's great. I had 5 yesterday, only had 2 in November so although 5 is still low I was delighted.

pixelflower · 12/03/2021 14:59

@LabradorMum I was just wondering if it was today or if you just hadn't posted about it 🤣. Exciting!

LabradorMum · 12/03/2021 15:09

Hi @willithappen fingers crossed as I said only takes 1 good one 🤞🏻 Thanks for that, on gonal first then cetroleix after a week the nurse said to put them in each side 🤦🏼‍♀️ Also said don’t use arnaca cream as it might affect it.

Not going to lie has to google lightening crotch, does not sound enjoyable at all!! Hope it passes soon.

Hi @Kamiros that’s great news too no change in nearly months is good news 😃

LabradorMum · 12/03/2021 15:23

Hi @pixelflower, yeah just today lol!! How are you doing?

pixelflower · 12/03/2021 15:56

@LabradorMum I'm good thanks. Sometimes think I'm setting myself up for a fall being optimistic but no point being miserable before there's a reason to be. When are you back in again?

willithappen · 12/03/2021 16:06

@LabradorMum when I was on the both of them I did them on the same side, just not in the same spot.
After the first time also I began to ice the area for about ten minutes before I was going to do the injection and I tell you it was a life saver! Things went so much more smoothly when I started icing before haha

Honestly I had never heard of it until these threads and it's so strange I now have it. It's like 15 seconds of thinking I'm away to bowl over. I'm hoping it eases off and is just a short side affect of everything
I was due to get one side affect at least I suppose since I got lucky with the rest!

PinkFlamingoGirl · 12/03/2021 17:39

Hi everyone,

Would it be ok to join? A bit of background on us. DH and I have been TTC for 15months. Were referred to the infertility clinic at Monklands back in December and have just had our first appointment. We have had some tests done by the GP such as 21 day bloods, full blood profile and DH had a SA. I've also had a pelvic and transvaginal ultrasound. So far, everything seems 'normal'. DH has a more detailed SA next week and then we will meet with a consultant. So we are right at the 'start' of what already seems a long journey so far. If that makes sense. I'm not sure what our treatment will be going forward or what will be discovered as we move through this situation.I've been reading this thread for a while and thought i'd say hello.

LabradorMum · 12/03/2021 18:02

@pixelflower not at all I think it the best way to be, I’m just going with the flow and seeing what happened but telling myself it will work first time 🤷🏼‍♀️

@willithappen brilliant tip thank you, I’m going to watch the video on the card she gave me earlier too, think I’ll do the injections in the morning. I’ve just done my weekly shop and it’s so weird have my global next to my fruit in the fridge 😂. It sounds horrendous I hope it passes for you soon!!

Hi @PinkFlamingoGirl nice to meet you, lovely group of ladies on here. Hopefully things start moving for you quickly 😁

pixelflower · 12/03/2021 18:10

@LabradorMum it happens first time for some people so why not us 🤷🏼 My meds went straight in the veg drawer 🤣

@willithappen that sounds horrible ☹️ hopefully it goes away soon 🤞🤞

@PinkFlamingoGirl Hi 🙂 hope your consultant appointment is soon and you can have a plan.

LabradorMum · 12/03/2021 19:43

@willithappen @pixelflower did you take you gonal and cetrorelix one after the the? I’m sure the nurse said too but in opposite sides
