Hi Ladies
I’m super new around here so was hoping there would be more experienced people to help me out.
I had a missed miscarriage back last March, ended badly and had to be rushed into hospital due to having a hemorhage. Anyway fast forward a few months and my periods still hadn’t returned to normal (used to be regular like clockwork), ended up going to the docs in august and had blood tests done to which they found I had an under active thyroid (never known of this until then), was placed on medication but still no luck with regulating periods. Went back in October and had more bloods and tests was told all my other tests seem normal but my thyroid levels dropped from 4 - 0.7 (not sure what that means) anyway she tweaked the dosage of my medication again and have to go back for more bloods on a few weeks, I’ve done ovulation tests but they never seem to get really dark, the photo I attached is the latest ones I’ve done which was a week ago one day after another, I did more each evening after and as u can see they have just got lighter and lighter Sad all I want is my rainbow baby as it’s nearly a year since we lost Sad has anyone ever had any issues or been in similar situations?

Hi ladies hope you don’t mind me joining. My thyroid is 5.5 and I have to have another blood test next week to check it and if it’s still the same they are going to put me on medication to lower it. I’m already taking clomid to help me ovulate and I’m currently on cycle 2 of that with no luck. We’ve been trying now for 20months. My cycles can vary anything from 34-60+ days so that says I’m not ovulating every cycle.

Hi hun glad you joined, I’m not on clomid but have been put on 1000mg each day of metformin, I’m also taking b12 supplements and 3000mg of inositol, I’m only on my second week of this so not sure how it’s going to work or if it’s going to work, my periods are also anything from 35-52 days too, have you had bloods done to confirm not ovulating? I’ve had 2 done but it’s come back no ovulation occurred but it’s difficult to time it right for the tests as they have to be 5-7 days before your next cycle is “due” with irregular cycles it super difficult to detect. X

@Tinkers123 I’ve had bloods done about 6months ago but not day 21 bloods as like you it’s so hard to detect when to do my day 21 bloods. I am having day 21 bloods taken next Monday but I’m pretty sure I’ve not ovulated yet. Last cycle I ovulated on cd 19 and I’m on cd18 today but my OPK’s are defiantly not at peak yet. I got told that if my cycle is more than 39days then the chances are I’m not ovulating. I’m also having a scan next week to check if I’m ovulating. I’ve had all other bloods and scans before which have all come back fine other than my thyroid being at 5.5.

Yeah exactly the same as me hun, it’s so annoying, the only thing I keep getting told is shifting some weight can regulate hormones back to where they should be if medication doesn’t work too, so I’m dieting and lost 10lb in 3 weeks, I’m not massive though and there’s people 3 times the size as me that don’t have these issues, my doc has said my irregular cycles and not ovulating etc co inside with the pcos symptoms too I did have a internal scan last year and I was “borderline pcos” whatever that means 🙄. Have you tried metformin or was you put straight onto clomid? X

@Tinkers123 I was put straight onto clomid. I’m not massive but a size 14 but I’ve tried everything to lose some weight and now they are suggesting my thyroid could be the cause for me not losing it. It’s so frustrating. That’s amazing that you’ve lost 10lb in 3weeks. What have you changed to do that?

Tinkers123 · 08/03/2021 14:00

Yeah I’m a size 16 but 5’5 so I think they want my bmi down before offering any other sort of medication, nothing major just cutting out sugary things as much as I would, eating like low calorie crisp twice a week rather than every day lol, changed from white bread to brown, having mor veg than carbs on my roasts etc, I make sure I stay within my calorie limit through the week then have a cheeky takeaway on the weekend to treat myself 😂. Thyroid is such a pain in the ass, they say once it’s at the right level things will be easier but for me it’s not changed a thing x

@Tinkers123 I don’t know why they didn’t do anything about my thyroid back in oct as it was 5.5 then. Losing weight is so hard, but it sounds like you’ve been doing great.
