Hi all, we’ve just done our fertility MOT with evewell and it wasn’t the best news I could have hoped for! So we really need to start ASAP, I’m very scared / nervous about the whole thing! We’re older (I’m 41 and my partner is 42) and this is really the last chance saloon so to speak. The timing is horrendous as when they want to start corresponds exactly smack bang between the anniversary of my mother’s death and her birthday :( Anyway, as it’s a new clinic, and there aren’t many reviews at all - I just really liked them as a place. I was hoping for some feedback / thoughts / experiences from anyone else. And that we’re going with right place as “our shot” Wishing you all the best luck and enjoy this glorious weekend ahead. Smile

Bump for you as I am interested in this clinic

BethB123123 · 09/09/2020 23:25

Hi - wondering how it is going for you at the Evewell? I am afraid I cannot give any advice as I have not had treatment with them - however I know two people who are currently there who are happy with the clinic. I am considering having IVF with them - would you recommend them so far? It is worrying the lack of stats but they do seem to be popular...

BethB123123 · 09/09/2020 23:28

Actually I can give advice - you are making the right decision in not choosing Zita West - I had a terrible experience there! I had 3 rounds of IUI with them - they tried not to treat me twice despite having said they would and me being on day 1 and ready to go, and then when I was leaving they lost my medical files - tried to fob me off with just one of five scans. Avoid!

Sylva123 · 16/09/2020 22:09

Im about to start ICSI and IVF with Evewell. I actually emailed to say I was worried about the lack of stats because they're new and they arranged a call with me to talk through the stats they have that haven't been published yet and talked me through everything in such a caring and open way. I also feel nervous as its really a lot of money that we can't afford, so feels like 'the' opportunity, but i feel comfortable with them so far. They've been really helpful. Im starting mine in October so can fill you in if thats helpful

Sylva123 · 16/09/2020 22:11

the stats they shared with me on the phone were really really positive but they were honest and said it was a small sample size. Stats should be published on hfea in Oct i think. They're doing free open evenings online at the moment which is what we did at the start of lock down

ChaiTea1 · 17/09/2020 16:20

Hey, I think the stats are quite high, higher than most IVF clinics. But yes, they are new-ish so the sample size is small.

I did my FET with them, I’m now over 9weeks :). I highly recommend them, I was at another clinic but decided to move as my treatment just wasn’t progressing with them. So I went to an open day at The Evewell and I’m glad I did - I know i still have a long way to go but I’m happy I went to them for my treatment. Happy to answer any questions if I can.

Good luck to you all!

Sylva123 · 17/09/2020 19:24

Thats so great to hear @chaitea1. Congratulations!!! Gives some hope.
I went in for a scan recently and its such a beautiful and calm environment.

ChaiTea1 · 18/09/2020 12:00

@Sylva123 Aww, that’s great! Yes, it’s a lovely clinic with really friendly and helpful people working there. :)

MummyDiaries · 06/02/2021 20:07

Hi - considering Evewell as well so bumping this thread and would be super grateful for any feedback.

Breathslow · 14/02/2021 07:28

Same! I’d be very keen to hear any feedback as we’re considering them as well.

ChaiTea1 · 14/02/2021 18:19

Hey! I’m now just over 30 weeks after having my FET with Evewell. Have you done their open days? If not, that’s the first place I would start.
I’ve got nothing but praise for them as I’m finally pregnant with my first with their help!

Just to warn you, I’ve only done a frozen transfer with them not the full cycle (egg collection etc...) as that was done at another clinic. But still happy to answer as many questions as I can. Smile

MummyDiaries · 14/02/2021 19:28

@ChaiTea1 thanks for coming back. Would you say they are thorough with their approach although you only did FET with them? Why did you transfer and did they try to reassess your infertility or just resumed your treatment based on your last clinic’s findings? I booked an open day appt with them early March, what would you recommend I ask them? Oh and which consultant is treating you please, is it possible to see the same consultant every time and are you happy with them? Thanks so much in advance and big congratulations on your baby! So happy for you! xx

ChaiTea1 · 15/02/2021 11:21

Would you say they are thorough with their approach although you only did FET with them?
Yes, they tailor all your needs depending on your fertility issue. They go through your bloods, notes anything else they need to know and will come up with a treatment plan.

Why did you transfer and did they try to reassess your infertility or just resumed your treatment based on your last clinic’s findings?
I was at ABC before. They have a one size fits all approach which just did not work for me. Although I was very fortunate to freeze 10 top quality embryos, I had three transfers which did not work including a miscarriage. I was frustrated that they refused to change my treatment - so they didn’t want to add additional drugs, more testing etc. I kept getting told that I have great embryos but no reason as to why they keep failing! I just didn’t like how they treated me as just another patient. So I went in the hunt for a new clinic.

Questions for open day
I guess the biggest one is the cost. They are quite expensive but I believe that you get what you pay for. Get them to outline the cost plan.
Ask them about the treatment plan you would likely to receive. I wanted to know more about that really. I told them about my experience at ABC and my miscarriage and they were very sympathetic and understanding. I had a great chat with the embryologist there regarding my failed transfers. They do quite a lot of blood tests which is was reassuring, might be worth asking about the additional tests you would need to have. They tested my progesterone levels throughout my transfer. And as it was slightly lower they increased my meds. My periods are very irregular, one of the things my consultant (Dr Montse) suggested was to delay my transfer for a few more days to be more in line with what my natural cycles are like. So instead of a day 10-12 transfer, I had my transfer on day 19 which works out better because my body would have naturally ovulated later. I truly believe this is what worked but then again I had more drugs and more progesterone so I’m not exactly sure what did work but something did!

I was with Dr Montse, she’s lovely and I was very happy with her! You do see the same consultant all throughout. You get the option to have some appointments with the nurses to cut costs. So I was told I could have some of my scans with the nurses but I chose to go with Dr Montse all throughout.

Hope this all helps! It feels so long ago! But I know as soon as I have my baby I want to start planning my next transfer with them! Let me know if you want to know any more.

ChaiTea1 · 15/02/2021 11:28

Oh one last thing, I would ask them their approach to COVID. I had my transfer in July/August so things were a little bit more relaxed. My DH was at my 7week scan not sure what the rule is now but he wasn’t allowed to any other appointments apart from one which I can’t remember why. I also had to pay for a COVID test including their PPE which I found very bizarre!
Might be a good asking about the vaccine and IVF. I don’t know what the rules are having the vaccine and doing IVF so it’s worth asking?

Breathslow · 17/02/2021 14:09

Thank you so much for sharing your experience! really so kind of you. And huge congratulations as well :) wish you all the best for the birth and this new phase of life. Thanks again for sharing everything so clearly.

Mummmmyyyy · 21/03/2021 12:26

Hi @ChaiTea1 congrats on your pregnancy!!

I have just finished a failed cycle at abc.

I am thinking to start with Evewell,

How long did it take them to transfer your docs etc? Did Evewell need the docs from abc?

Also, does anyone know how long the wait is currently at Evewell? I will call them tomorrow,

Thanks,

X

A friend of mine there recently had her 1st cycle work and she has been happy with them. Her husband had some sperm issues, not sure if / what he issues were

S18888 · 10/05/2021 17:53

Hi I recently went to Evewell and had a failed IVF. Had one low grade blastocyst which didn’t implant and have one frozen day 7 blastocyst which isn’t great quality either and I believe inplantation rate of day 7 blastocysts is very low. I already have a child and he was conceived naturally 3 years ago. The doctor told me to go through ivf this time around since I have a blocked Fallopian tube due to a c section scar. They were fairly confident I would get pregnant easily but didn’t check any hormone levels or even my AMH. I ended up producing poor quality eggs and I am 32. Didn’t think they were thorough with me at all. Thinking of switching to ARGC or fertility plus . Do you guys have any thoughts on those ?

Drew1978 · 22/06/2021 09:37

We are looking at Evewell for FET - can I please ask how you experience was? And how old you are? I am 42 now using my own frozen eggs.

Drew1978 · 22/06/2021 09:41

Thinking of transferring from Boston to Evewell what are your experiences? Good and bad. Ours would be a FET. Thanks.

S18888 · 22/06/2021 10:25

I am currently at ARGC now. Will definitely post on the outcome here once I know . At the Evewell they weren’t thorough at all. They scanned me every 3 days and did not conduct any blood tests at all. I recently tested my AMH and it was 21. If you are to switch to the Evewell I highly recommend you only go to Colin Davis - he is world class doctor . I was seeing another doctor . Pls make sure he’s the one who sees you.
