Hi all, we’ve just done our fertility MOT with evewell and it wasn’t the best news I could have hoped for! So we really need to start ASAP, I’m very scared / nervous about the whole thing! We’re older (I’m 41 and my partner is 42) and this is really the last chance saloon so to speak. The timing is horrendous as when they want to start corresponds exactly smack bang between the anniversary of my mother’s death and her birthday :( Anyway, as it’s a new clinic, and there aren’t many reviews at all - I just really liked them as a place. I was hoping for some feedback / thoughts / experiences from anyone else. And that we’re going with right place as “our shot” Wishing you all the best luck and enjoy this glorious weekend ahead. Smile

So sorry to hear your experience S18888. Do you mind me asking how far along you got with Evewell?

Hopefully123 · 23/06/2021 17:25

Hello would you be able to DM me too please? We just had our open evening with them and I’d love any advice. The embryologist did say IVF can often be unsuccessful so interested to understand why.

Also, given it’s a small and new clinic, there is the chance that if they go bankrupt or bought over, your embroyos aren’t safe. This wasn’t really discussed or what happens if something goes wrong - they aren’t linked to a hospital.

Porridgeislife · 04/11/2021 17:20

Aside from the unlikelihood that Evewell could shut, the HFEA will have policies in place to deal with closed clinics. They hardly walk away and turn off the incubators!

If something goes wrong at any clinic you are handed over to the NHS to deal with it. It’s one of the issues with private IVF. You would have the same experience if it was Create, CRGH or The Lister.

Thank you that’s really helpful.

Hi All - am new here and am hoping to freeze my eggs before the end of the year. I was recommended the Evewell clinic and have been offered an appointment with Dr Kriedt as Mr Davis the medical director is unavailable for some time. Does anyone have any experience with Dr Kriedt and would you recommend the Evewell over ARGC for example? Thanks!

MyEasterEggs · 19/10/2022 12:56

@Ad1981 I can’t comment on egg freezing but Dr Kriedt monitored me ahead of egg collection and I had a good experience. The team has a daily meeting and various consultants input on each case. But I’d suggest having a call with both clinics before making a decision. It’s such a personal choice and your impression might be different from mine.

Ad1981 · 19/10/2022 13:29

Thanks @MyEasterEggs . Yes I understand the MD is present for all case discussions daily so hopefully it means the level of care and expertise is of a high standard regardless of which doctor sees you?!
ARGC seem to monitor daily, sometimes twice daily for the 2 weeks of stimulation which evewell like most other clinics do bloods/scans every few days. It feels a bit excessive but not sure if that's a better way?
How do people choose the clinic other than looking at success rates etc when you essentially speak to an administrator first off to get details? Otherwise you need to have a consultation with several clinics to speak to the doctor to really get a feel of the process and clinic preference?

MyEasterEggs · 19/10/2022 16:59

@Ad1981 ARGC is pretty hardcore. I’ve had a friend describe it as bootcamp! She struggled to work during cycles because it was so intensive. The Evewell still monitor patients closely but their approach isn’t as full on which was more manageable for me.
I spoke with a few consultants at different clinics - so paid for those appointments - before deciding. We went with Mr Davis st The Evewell because he was the most compassionate and supportive. And I suppose my partner and I felt seen and heard. ARGC look great statistically but I don’t think my physical or mental health would’ve been great. I really needed focused and tailored support after multiple losses and a complicated history!

MrsBowen · 05/02/2025 18:31

DM me if you want info but would not recommend this place

Wednesdaysotherchild · 06/02/2025 21:51

My Evewell baby is on my lap after one transfer. Mr Davies was great and I am glad we chose them (we did 4 embryo banking rounds at Evewell Harley St).

MrsBowen · 10/02/2025 11:58

Mr Davies is great, the rest of them and the customer care- not so great.
