Just that really, I know it's a difficult time for so many people, but clinics shuttered just as DP finally agreed to get his semen analyisis done. My progesterone was normal, and I have regular periods, so I don't think Clomid would be an option for us. We've been trying for a year and a half, and I am 35 on Saturday.

If we do get a referral, and need IVF, how long will that take? So many questions?

Thanks

@Scirocco what a stress for you. I really hope that you’re able to find the help that you need. Look after yourself best you can, and push for the counselling if you think it will help. Sorry I don’t have much useful advice!
I am ok, thanks. Still get little feelings of sadness, but tbh, I think it could be hormones. I know that I am very lucky to have had ivf success before. I’ve completely written off the FET before we have started! 😅

@Daisz good to hear all is going well. I told “everyone” when I was 14/ 15 weeks pregnant with DD. (Had actually told a lot of people after 7 week scan. Can’t believe that now!). It’s so weird because it’s amazing news, but it’s like you will jinx things when telling people! Will you wait until the 20 week scan? Xx

Daisz · 09/10/2020 22:28

@BeHereNowx32 I would love to wait until 20 weeks before telling everyone, but realistically don't know if that is possible. I just think why bother? if I am not seeing anyone at the moment, the longer the better. Once you have told people it is the never ending questions, and the constant mentioning, don't know if I am ready to deal with all that yet. I also think some people will have something to say about my age, my poor mum will probably be subjected to most of those comments by well meaning family friends. No one knows about the ivf apart from my mum, so no doubt people will probably be concerned about my age. There is just so much to consider when telling people, I am enjoying the peace and quiet for now.lol

BeHereNowx32 · 10/10/2020 06:24

@Daisz oh yeah, what a silly question 🙈 although you could keep it hidden from people that you don’t see.
Hopefully all isn’t as bad when the time comes. People can be really insensitive when it comes to other people’s pregnancies!

I remember someone I worked with (who I wasn’t close with), just came out and asked me if the baby was planned! I thought if only you knew 🙄 Xx

Quick one for those going through this in Scotland.

I'm currently on the waiting list (I think March before we'll be near the top due to all of this). What should I expect when we do get to the top? Do they call, write a letter? Will I have to go through further appointments once at the top or will it be relatively quick to start?

BeHereNowx32 · 11/10/2020 20:12

@willithappen hey. Hoping someone with a better memory than me will come and answer. It’s been a while since I started ivf, and don’t remember exact timings etc.
I’m sure I got a letter for an initial consultation... then a letter asking me to phone in with my period to start treatment. I really can’t remember how long it was between those appointments. Sorry! Things may be a bit different as they were then. That was in 2016.
Hope you get some answers

Mrsmch123 · 11/10/2020 23:32

@willithappen I got to the top of the
List in November, had ART appointment in January. Tried to book to start in feb but they were full so was supposed to start in March when covid hit. Hope this helps a little with time frame.

BeHereNowx32 · 17/10/2020 17:38

How’s everyone doing?
Hope all coping ok with the restrictions etc. X

willithappen · 17/10/2020 17:45

@Mrsmch123 thanks!
Funnily enough I woke up to a letter today! We have a video appointment 26th nov to discuss treatment plan. Is this similar to what happened with you? I don't know if this is our top of the list appointment or not

Daisz · 17/10/2020 21:46

@BeHereNowx32 hope things are better for you? I am doing ok thanks. I still have not told anyone yet, and still not showing, so may keep it up for that little bit longer [grin. I have my sixteen week midwife appointment on Wednesday it is a home visit. Which is good, but the downside is I actually have to do some proper tidying up.lol. @RonRon1 how are things progressing with you? Hope you are feeling ok. @BambiOnIce80 it won't be long now until your appointment, how have you been feeling about it?

BeHereNowx32 · 18/10/2020 08:18

@Daisz don’t think I’m fully better. I’m still waiting on period to properly start, so I do feel quite hormonal and exhausted. But keeping busy and enjoying my days when I get out and about. Feel like I need a boost of energy!
That’s exciting. 16 weeks already! I loved my midwife. Would love to see her again 😅 nice that you can take some more time before telling everyone. Xx

Mrsmch123 · 18/10/2020 08:52

@willithappen i got the consent forms through and had an appointment to go in and for the nurse to sign them. I got bloods taken them and about 5 weeks later I got my appointment to go in for swabs and discus my protocol.

BambiOnIce80 · 18/10/2020 10:03

Once again not been getting notifications! 🤦🏻‍♀️

@willithappen I think it probably depends on which clinic you're at, plus procedures are constantly changing due to covid. Just under 3 weeks ago I was told to expect a phone call the week before my appointment to go through a covid questionnaire and I've been staring at my phone all week, but no phone call 🤷🏻‍♀️ I ended up caving and calling on Friday (thinking there was going to be a problem with my appointment because of the covid questionnaire not being done), but it just turned out that between the nurse talking to me nearly three weeks ago and now they'd changed the procedure with the questionnaire because it wasn't working - that's how quickly things are changing! I hope you'll be getting started soon 🍀

The being hormonal and emotional lasted 7 weeks for me @BeHereNowx32 and it was the worst part of the whole process 😔 I hope you're feeling more like yourself soon.x

I would absolutely be keeping the announcement to myself until after the 20 week scan if I could manage it too @Daisz - not many weeks for you to go until you make it! 🤩 I'm doing OK thanks 🙂 Not been thinking about the FET much because DP's job was looking precarious, so that's been an all-consuming worry - things are looking up now though 🤞 Prostap injection is booked for Tuesday morning and we should be getting this show on the road 💉

I hope you are OK @RonRon1? Have you had your 12 week scan yet?x

BeHereNowx32 · 18/10/2020 20:20

@BambiOnIce80 did it take 7 weeks for your periods to come back? I don’t actually feel like myself at all. Feel like I’m not coping with life atm. I just want to sleep, but I’m not even sleeping great. My mum suggested phoning the hospital for a scan to make sure all the sac is away, but I’m not so sure they will do that. I’m not under the care of fertility clinic anymore.

That’s exciting news that you are starting so soon! Good luck :) xx

BambiOnIce80 · 18/10/2020 20:46

Oh @BeHereNowx32, I'm so sorry you're feeling like that ❤️ It took me 5 weeks from the D&C for AF to show, but emotionally I was a wreck for 7 weeks plus. I'm sure it was the bloody hormones! I've had a lot of family tragedies/grief in my life, but nothing hit me like the MMC. I've always bounced back from everything that's been thrown at me, but this took a very long time compared to everything else I've been through.

It can't hurt to ring the clinic to ask to check that everything has come away as it's supposed to (mother might know best on this one 😉). Everyone is different, but 7 weeks is getting on a bit. How long are your cycles normally?x

BeHereNowx32 · 18/10/2020 21:01

@BambiOnIce80 thank you. I sound so dramatic. I’m sure it’s hormones too though. My cycles are usually 30 days or so. I just feel quite anxious and down. (And tired!). I’ll see what they say tomorrow.
Hope you’re keeping ok. You’re strong after all you have been through!! Xx

BambiOnIce80 · 18/10/2020 21:25

You absolutely are not being dramatic @BeHereNowx32 ❤️ An MMC is brutal. Fact. One good thing about EFREC is that they are amazingly helpful once you're in the system. I hope they can help tomorrow. I can't recommend their counsellors enough (and it's all included!) - definitely a big part of getting me back to 'normal'. Are you still looking at the new year for your FET?x

BeHereNowx32 · 20/10/2020 08:26

@BambiOnIce80 thank you. That’s good to know. I phone a few times yesterday and couldn’t get through. I think I will wait another couple of weeks.
Yeah, FET next year. Probably around April.
Good luck for this morning xx

Daisz · 20/10/2020 10:46

@BambiOnIce80 Good luck for this morning. 🍀

BambiOnIce80 · 20/10/2020 12:56

Thank you @BeHereNowx32 and @Daisz ❤️ Prostap jab = done 💉 💪 The appointment took about an hour longer than I was expecting, so they seem to be getting back to normal! 😂 I was reading on the news that NHS Lothian is getting worried because their covid ward at St. John's is full already... I've just got to hope that they don't close mid cycle 🔮 😔

Daisz · 20/10/2020 14:24

@BambiOnIce80. Well done! Your well on your way now. You would need to be incredibly unlucky for anything to happen now. Think positive, all will be well.♥️

BeHereNowx32 · 29/10/2020 15:21

When will transfer be @BambiOnIce80 ? How are you feeling?
Hope everyone else doing ok too!

I’ve started taking Kira Hormonal balance vitamins because I was so anxious with hormones. I think they are working. I feel more stable lol :) X

BambiOnIce80 · 29/10/2020 17:51

I'm OK, thanks for asking @BeHereNowx32 😊 AF turned up today, so scan booked for the 17th and if everything is OK (🔮🤞) it'll be ET the week after.

I hope the vits help you feel better ❤️ It literally took months for me to get anything like being back to normal. I hope you turn the corner soon.x

BeHereNowx32 · 30/10/2020 07:18

@BambiOnIce80 good news! It’s so close for you now.
Thanks. I’ll be ok. I have lots to be grateful for and I just keep reminding myself that 💗
Good luck for your scan when it comes x

BeHereNowx32 · 05/11/2020 18:56

Just an update- I’m going for a scan next Wednesday and getting the tablet to bring on period. They also suggested that I get put on the waiting list for our next FET. Even though it’s a while away.

Hope everyone ok!

Daisz · 06/11/2020 15:57

@BeHereNowx32 think that is a good idea. It is already November so realistically you want to get on the list now for a spring transfer. Something nice and positive to look forward, after this year has gone.♥️
