Hi all,

Been ttc (unsuccessfully!) for over a year and just found out there's a problem with DH sperm (low mobility and zero normal forms), so awaiting referral to fertility clinic to seek further help/advice.

Just wondered if there's anyone else in a similar situation about to embark on this journey too?

Also similar success stories welcome :) x

@Chochaw I don't blame you it's definitely great to have something to help. Keeping everything crossed for you!! We haven't been diagnosed yet so I'm not sure if anything can be done for us. My initial tests came back fine but was halfway through the HSG/ultrasound/bloods when the virus started. DP mostly okay, low morphology.

Morpho123 · 08/04/2020 20:22

@Cat028 what was your husbands morphology % if you dont mind me asking?

So my doctors finally sent me the official results for all my tests 😂 I had them done ages ago, the nurse sent them to me a month or so ago now. Anyway, they are someone else’s basically. He said about a day 21 test I had on 20th March. I never had a blood test on 20th March and my day 21 was last done in October. So somehow I don’t think they are my results. Just shows you doesn’t it. I’m taking clomid and going private- can’t be arsed anymore lol! X

willithappen · 08/04/2020 23:21

@Morpho123 can't believe how long it's taking for your results! I was given mine pretty quickly.
Also feel like just totally giving up today

Cat028 · 09/04/2020 23:21

@Morpho123 no, don't mind. His was 3% our doctor didn't seem concerned with this. She said it was a bit on the lower side so it might take us a bit longer. Oh no!! That's rubbish about your results! Can they find your actual results at all?

@willithappen it's a rough time at the moment. Definitely doesn't make this journey any easier. Look after yourself. Xx

Chochaw · 10/04/2020 20:05

@morpho123 That is rubbish about your results.

I'm starting Clomid next week because they were delivered today.

Morpho123 · 10/04/2020 21:06

@chochaw when is AF due? Are you taking from day 2-6? My AF is due 19th so I’ll be taking the first ones on 20th. So glad that we can discuss side effects etc as you’re in the same position as me! Taking them without scans! Fingers crossed for us.

Hope everyone is enjoying the weather, it seems to be the only thing getting us through at the moment! Happy Easter everyone xx

Chochaw · 10/04/2020 22:35

I'm due on Monday 13th so I will start 14th if AF arrives on time. It has been a couple of days late the last few months and has kept me thinking I was pregnant. We might as well give it a good gothey say if its going to work, the 1st 3 months sure the most likely to be successful. I didn't have any side effects with Gonal F last time so hope I am the same this time. I'm glad there is someone in the same boat as me. I'm going to start taking cough bottle tomorrow to prepare. I'll do the pineapple core later in cycle. Any other tips thatanykne has heard?

I'm so jealous of yuubhaving nice weather. I'm in Scotland and it has been dry but really windy here.x

Limeflower2 · 10/04/2020 22:42

Hi Ladies! How are you all?

@Morpho123 @Chochaw Glad to know you are both starting Clomid soon! Hope we have some good news in this group soon!
@Chochaw How many days do you take the cough bottle for?xx

Chochaw · 10/04/2020 22:50

I take it twice a day until after ovulation and I stop 'trying'. I'm not sure if it works but bit is worth a go. I asked a doctor about it once because I was worried that I would become immune to cough bottles if I needed one for an actual cough and she said that most of time cough bottles do nothing for a cough anyway so it couldn't do any harm. Just brush teeth carefully as full of sugar 🤣

Limeflower2 · 12/04/2020 22:17

Happy Easter Ladies.💗🐇
@Chochaw
I was also told my GP that cough medicine doesn't help a cough. So we are safe to take the bottle.🤣
I actually ordered some Bromelain supplement few weeks ago. They are 500mg per tablet. But I read we only need about 70mg per day otherwise it would give me cramps. So I haven't start taking them yet. If I start I probably have to cut up the tablet! xx

Chochaw · 13/04/2020 06:41

@Limeflower2 I think I'll stick to the actual pineapple core rather than start a supplement just now so that I know if side effects are coming from the clomid.

It's a go for the Clomid from me. AF arrived so I will take clomid tomorrow. I think I will take it at 7pm each night. I remember the nurse saying with other meds they recommend taking at night but I can't remember why. I'm excited.

I hope everyone is doing OK.x

charlotte012 · 13/04/2020 15:24

Hope you don't mind me jumping in! I've had treatment stopped too due to Covid-19. Had tests etc and last gynae appointment was pretty pointless, saying our next step is clomid, but fertility have to prescribe it to us. So we were waiting for our first fertility appointment before everything got put on hold.

@Chochaw was it an online consultation with instant ecare? I'm looking at getting some too, as clomid was going to be the next step from the hospital.

Chochaw · 13/04/2020 21:19

@charlotte012 it was instant ecare. I recommend them if that's what you are looking for. Did they give you a diagnosis after your investigations?

mrscg2020 · 13/04/2020 22:06

@Chochaw They diagnosed me with PCOS. Very irregular periods/no ovulation, so hoping clomid kicks something into action.
Was the consultation online or over the phone?

(sorry that was me above - changed my username and the app on my phone posted from the old one!)

Chochaw · 14/04/2020 08:13

@charlotte012

It was an online consultation. The website says they are too busy just now for telephone consultations. I found it really easy to do. I think because you have a diagnosis they would give you them x

Chochaw · 14/04/2020 08:18

@charlotte012 I found the article I posted above and it says that with PCOS they normally do a US to check for cysts before starting clomid and if you have irregular periods they can prescribe provera to induce them.x

Morpho123 · 14/04/2020 15:34

@Chochaw how are you feeling Hun after your first clomid tablet? Any side effects yet? I guess it’s early days still!

I’m 9dpo, tiny spotting yesterday and stopped today, this is unheard of for me! Hopefully my body is adjusting back? I won’t get ahead of myself, I’m sure it will start again tonight 😂 xx

Chochaw · 14/04/2020 16:20

@moroho123 fingers crossed for you. I've not taken any tablets yet. Tonight at 7 is 1st one. I read that if you take it at night you sleep through the side effects of them. My AF is so heavy and painful this month. I can't wait to get rid of it for 9 months x

Chochaw · 15/04/2020 11:03

1st clomid taken and no side effects yet.x

Morpho123 · 15/04/2020 18:52

@Chochaw good to hear keep us updated!
Taking them in the evening is meant to help sleep through side effects!
Iv had a bit of spotting today, nothing like normal though and I’m 10dpo! It’s so unusual, normally I start between 6-8dpo!
But I’m defo not pregnant, I don’t feel it and had a negative Premom test. Although I’m not sure they are great. Af due Sunday/ Monday so I will see! I’m sure I’ll get the cramps Saturday which is my telltale sign!

Xx

Cat028 · 16/04/2020 11:45

@Chochaw fingers crossed you continue to get no side effects.

@Morpho123 don't count yourself out yet.

Really struggling this end atm. Feel like we could just be trying not knowing there is a problem. So frustrated.

Morpho123 · 16/04/2020 12:34

@Cat028 did you start clomid? Where are you in your cycle? Try and keep your head up, we’re all in the same boat on this page, I’m so waiting to see a positive from someone so they can tell us what they did 😂

Sorry you’re feeling down, I am today and a light bleed. Defo out this month. AF due the weekend 😔 xx

Chochaw · 16/04/2020 21:37

@morpho123 sorry you are out this month Sad.

@Cat028 it is so hard to stay positive and not get obsessed with 'trying'. The unknown is awful and I hated the waiting. Each month I grieve when AF comes. It doesn't get any easier and I feel over time I got more bitter when people had 'accidents' or 'it just happened'. I am truly grateful and blessed to have my miracle daughter BUT I know in myself that I am not finished having children yet. I've had a few people tell me to stop being so selfish but I can't help how I feel. I tried bloody hard to get my 1st and will do the same for another.

clomid update- had some hot flushes last night so didn't sleep well. X
