Bleeding - support needed

Hello. I had a FET on the 13th, positive test just over a week ago. 5weeks 1 day today according to the online calculator. Just been to the toilet and had some pink blood - not lots, not clot, but had to wipe away.

Absolutely petrified, bled at 7 week a last tome and when for scan to be told it was a missed miscarriage - so I’m petrified it’s happened again.

Am alone at the moment and looking for some advice or support - I can’t see the doctor at the clinic until Monday now, so just have to wait.

I had some spotting at about the same stage - I'm now 21 weeks.

I know it's really, really scary, but it's possible (common, even) to have a little bit of spotting and it not be a problem. Take care of yourself and I hope your clinic are able to reassure you on Monday.

Matilda128 · 30/11/2019 22:32

It is so common to bleed or have some spotting. There are so many stories here on mumsnet and beyond of women that have had it and continued to have completely normal pregnancies. You really shouldn't panic. All my best wishes xxx

Shamoo · 30/11/2019 22:42

Thank you both so much, that really means a lot to me. Thank you.

Ahh, so hard for you. I've had IVF too so I can empathise with some of what you've been though. I hope this has a good outcome for you BrewThanksCake

It’s frigging awful at any time of pregnancy, but especially so if you’ve struggled with conceiving and had a miscarriage before.

I can say I had two large bleeds with dd (also had 3 miscarriages before I conceived her) and she is almost 3 now. It never gets less stressful, but spotting is so common in early pregnancy there’s every chance everything will be fine.

Look after yourself tomorrow, and I hope everything is ok.

Thank you all for your words

How are you today @Shamoo?

rainbow1982 · 01/12/2019 09:44

Shamoo I feel for you, the worry is horrendous. I too had some bleeding at 5 weeks, it was bright red and after 3 miscarriages I couldn't stop crying and just assumed it was happening again. It wasn't and I'm now 13 weeks! I booked a private scan after the bleeding and had to wait 3 days which drove me insane. I had some more spotting at 11 weeks and again everything was fine. There's no point me saying try not to worry as I know you will anyway but I'd really only worry if it's accompanied by strong, period type pains. Sex also can cause bleeding and did with me so that's off the cards until June for me! 🙄😂

Wishing you lots of luck 🌈🤞

Sorry you're going through this, it's torture. On Friday night I had a bleed at 5+5, so scary. I went to a&e because the EPU was closed, they couldn't scan me but made an appointment with the EPU on Saturday morning. All was fine and it looked like implantation bleeding. I've had no more bleeding. I'm still worried as I've had 2 previous MCs that were discovered at scans. Hopefully you'll get some answers tomorrow.

Mctm123 · 01/12/2019 18:17

Hi just letting you know I too am around the same as you, 5+3 and last Saturday I had bleeding and thought the worse. It lasted less than a full day, only when I wiped an slightly red which eased off to pink then nothing. Haven’t had any since. No pains really apart from mild ones maybe that day. Hoping it was just implantation related. I lost the last one at 5 weeks but had to have a d&c at 9 weeks. Just waiting it out till the scan on the 12th but I’m feeling positive really! Just to say you’re not alone. Good luck xx

Shamoo · 01/12/2019 19:20

Just an update for those who replied: I went in today and had a blood test, got the results at 4 to say all good, pregnant and numbers are right. Got home and now lots of bright red blood and not looking good. A lot of emotions. All alone at home as partner away, so very down :(

I'm so sorry to hear that Shamoo- awful thing to go through especially alone. But as I said in response to your initial post, a lot of women have bleeding in early pregnancy- if come across so many posts. It is good that all your test results were looking positive. Good luck xxx

kell2126 · 02/12/2019 22:21

good luck to you, @Shamoo – hoping all turns out well for you xxx

Lalla525 · 02/12/2019 22:22

I would repeat the blood test in a couple of days to see if hcg has doubled.

Also - can you get a scan at 6 weeks at an epu? That would probably eliminate all doubts.

I also had some pink bleeding at the beginning and my clinic upped my progesterone.

Wish you all the best

CFlemingSmith · 02/12/2019 22:26

Just reassurance to say that I bled and has severe cramps for a week during early pregnancy, I sobbed for days thinking I had miscarried.
I now have a very energetic 1 year old, so all was fine

twinkledag · 02/12/2019 22:30

I had bleeding with my DS and he's now 5, also via ivf.

Keeping my fingers crossed for you x

Shamoo · 03/12/2019 12:33

Thank you all for your support, it really does mean a lot. Blood only lasted for a couple of hours and fingers crossed has completely stopped again. So just hoping! And booking a scan for next week!

@Shamoo it's so rubbish isn't it! I found out on Friday that I was pregnant and I've watched the line get darker until Monday when it appeared almost instantly so I booked in with the midwife to get everything started but I'm also bleeding. It's the second time in a week (prior to getting a positive) - there was a little clot this morning when I woke up and when o go to the loo it's enough to turn the loo roll pink.

I want to be excited, and I know it's more likely to be implantation but there's still that bit of me niggling away thinking the worst. :(

Mctm123 · 10/12/2019 12:17

@Shamoo have you had your scan yet?

Shamoo · 11/12/2019 22:23

@Mctm123 thank you so much for asking. After a really stressful week I had my scan yesterday and had prepared myself for bad news. But amazingly all ok and a heartbeat! Can’t believe it. Have had three rounds of blood, all different colours, including a clot - but they said it will have just been my body settling! I’m super excited but still very nervous!

@summershine2204
I’m so sorry I didn’t reply earlier. How are you getting on? I have my fingers crossed for you.

Thank you all again for being lovely x

@Shamoo nothing's changed! Still bleeding, it's been 12 days now and it isn't getting heavier or lighter but I'm back at the hospital tomorrow for another scan.

How're you? Has everything settled down?
