How many of your collected eggs made it to blastocyst?

Out of my 8 eggs collected last week only 2 have made to blastocyst which they are freezing. Was hoping for more 🙁

75% of mine made it to blasto.

  • 7 retrieved (own eggs), no blasts
  • 4 retrieved (donor eggs), no blasts
  • 6 retrieved (donor eggs), 2 blasts (1 transferred, one not suitable for freezing)
  • 8 frozen donor eggs, 6 blasts, (1 transferred, 4 frozen, 1 not suitable for freezing)

Honestly, it really varies. It's very normal, though, to see quite a significant drop-off at each stage of the process, and especially at whether they make it to blastocyst stage.

Going to do PGS testing on next cycle

9 collected, all mature, all fertilized (with MACS/Picsi), 6 looking good at day 3, 3 made to blasts. 1 transferred bfn, 2 on ice

6🥚 5 mature, 3 fert, 2 blasts, 2 blasts transferred BFN

5🥚 5 mature, 4 fertilised and frozen on day 3, 2 transferred BFN

It's quite normal to only have a few blasts on day 5. People that have 5 or so frozen are the exception x

21 collected, 14 fertilised, 8 still going on day 3. Array cgh- 4 normal, 4 abnormal.
Of the 4 normal, 3 made it to blast. One is now 7 and 2 were frozen. We decided to donate our Frosties to research when DS was 5.

  1. 11 eggs, 9 mature, 7 fertilised = 2 crap embryos put back day 3
  2. 11 eggs, 9 mature, 7 fertilised = 7 blasts, 2 put in and 5 frozen. Bfp = miscarriage. FET of 2 = my toddler twins.

1 perfect embryo transferred on day 3 (at the time the clinic didn't routinely go to blasto stage) which went on to become now 5year old DS Smile
Also left us with x2 day 3 embryos in the freezer

@Zest11 after our second MC DP and myself researched pgs then asked our doctor what he thought. He agreed but said it was our decision which was mainly lessen the chance of another MC. We had karyotyping blood test first which both of us was normal. I think our doctor sort of recommend it but didn't want the tell us we had to do it. Currently waiting for those results.

8 collected and 2 early blasts transferred on day 5. They transferred two as they were only early... but they both made it! Two more were taken to day 6 but didn’t make it

Was initially told 7 eggs retrieved but one turned out to be an empty zona so actually 6.

4 fertilised normally, 1 fertilised abnormally (dispermy), 1 did not fertilise.

3 day 5 blasts, 1 transferred (miscarriage), 1 frozen, 1 destroyed (most clinics would not have destroyed this but the clinic I was using at the time had very strict criteria for what they would freeze).

@LillyLeaf thank you for your reply. That is so crappy about your mcs :( It's so hard to know what to do with all these expensive treatments available! I hope you get some results which give you a clear and positive path Smile

  2. (changed things) 22 collected, 13 fertilised, 2 transferred day 3 (one son!), 1 frostie day 5, 1 frostie day 6!

11 eggs. 9 mature. 5 fertilised. 2 made it to day 5. BFP but MMC with first and BFN for second (FET).

26 ish collected, 3 transferred at day 3 (early miscarriage), 2 day-6 blasts frozen (BFN FET)

Evewell, London
24 ish collected, 8 fertilised, 6 blasts PGS tested and frozen. 4 euploid, 2 mosaic. First FET --> 28 weeks pregnant.
