We are planning IVF in Czech in January and will start meds around 2nd January! It's our first ever cycle so I am very nervous about the injections etc. Just wondering if anyone else in the same boat and where you are having treatment?

@rememberallball Good luck with your embryos. Really hope you get your BFP soon xx

I'm not too fussed about meeting them face to face (in person) because I can't do the back and forth travelling....it stresses me out. However I would definitely like/need to initially speak to the doctors who will be handling my treatment via video call. After that I would be open to communicating via phone and email.

Rememberallball · 17/01/2019 17:41

Thank you @Maybe2019. I only went for phonecall over video call because I was at work somewhere that had crap internet speeds so video calls were dire!! Ibadan couple of calls from the coordinator then a call from the consultant himself a few days after sending our initial information over.

@rememberallball This whole overseas experience has been very overwhelming for me. Having communicated with several clinics throughout 2018, then traveling all the way to Greece last week, and now communicating with another new clinic in Prague, I'm finding the whole process so daunting and time consuming. I hate the late replies from Reprofit. One thing I can commend Serum for is their very speedy replies and responses.

Sorry if I'm having a moan. Finally started my period so I'm feeling quite low. I knew I wasn't preganant but at the same time I guess I hoped I would be. I don't know why I always do this to myself. It's the same thing every month!

I really can't wait to get my IVF journey started. I want to feel like I am actually doing something to try to conceive Sad

Rememberallball · 23/01/2019 20:00

How are you doing this week @Maybe2019?

We had another appointment today and blood test result was a beta hCG of 99 so I’m officially pregnant!!

I really hope you find the right clinic for you xx

AniSL · 23/01/2019 20:38

Rememberrallball congratulations woohoo. That is awesome news.

KitKatKates · 23/01/2019 21:35

Does anyone have any experience with Zlin IVF Clinic in Czech Republic? I have read great reviews and it is so much cheaper than the UK! I was just wondering how long they expect you to be over there, I have heard it is 3 weeks but that would make it difficult to take time off from work if this is the case! Any advise would be greatly appreciated! Smile x

Pumpkin19 · 23/01/2019 21:51

@KutKatKates ee have just had our first cycle with Reprofit in czech, weve stayed for 12 nights- fly home tomorrow. Could have stayed 2 or 3 days less but wanted a buffer in case anything was delayed.
I dont know anything about Zlin I'm afraid but process would be the same

KitKatKates · 24/01/2019 10:28

Thanks @Pumpkin19, that's really helpful!

AniSL · 24/01/2019 15:23

Got bored at work today and even though my OTD is Saturday, used an instant HcG blood test at work. Officially pregnant. Thank you Newlife

Rememberallball · 24/01/2019 16:43

Congratulations, @AniSL. What day was your transfer? Have you done an inf edd calculator to see when you’re due?

AniSL · 24/01/2019 17:10

Rememberallball I believe my transfer date was same as u - 17th, had a look at due daye too 5th October if one or 14th Sept if twins. Thank u

Rememberallball · 24/01/2019 21:26

Hi @AniSL, my transfer was Wednesday (16th) and, checking the calculator on the ‘your ivf journey’ website, if it’s a singleton, we’re due on October 3rd or September 12th if twins!!

Maybe2019 · 26/01/2019 16:26

@rememberallball @anisl Congratulations your pregnancies!!! SmileSmile Really happy for you ladies. Wishing you all the best on your pregnancy journey xxxxx

@rememberallball I'm still feeling really low unfortunately... I had a very long think and talk with hubby about our future IVF plan and we decided not to go overseas anymore. Due to my anxiety symptoms and how stressful I found the travelling we decided to look for a clinic near home. I looked up a few clinics in London and been reading through alot reviews. Will contact a couple of clinics soon and take it from there. It's taken the pressure off once we made that decision. Still got a way to go with putting things in place but at least now I feel a bit more comfortable knowing I'll be near home.

Letsdothis43 · 26/01/2019 17:43

Hi All,

@Remberallball and @Anisl Brilliant news I am so so happy for you! thats amazing news!

@maybe2019 I was in the same predicament as you, not knowing where to go or how but glad I chose Reprofit. It was very easy and straightforward although I was confused and daunted at first but the whole process now I'm through it was easier than I imagined.

Contacted the clinic Via Email, was assigned an english Co-ordinator and was told about the tests I needed, I went and had all my blood tests done privately and filled in the online questionnaire. A few days later my co-ordinator told me the Dr felt I would only have a chance with DE but I basically pleaded to try with my own. They prescribed me a protocol, and sent me a prescription which I was able to get easily through Fertility4U but was too late to start on my November Cycle and December they were closed so arranged for January. Booked ultrasound scan here privately on CD7 and went out to Czech Rep on CD9 and they did the rest. Stayed abroad for 11 days in total.

AFM back from the Reprofit. I had my second CD10 ultrasound there and I only had two follicles from the 6 I originally had on CD7, the next day I was in for lots of blood tests and an ECG, they couldn't find veins so I was punctured about a dozen times!

My EC was scheduled for a few days later, on the day I was so scared and nervous, they managed to get 1 mature egg, I was utterly gutted, a few people from the same clinic I was with had all been on a facebook group I am on saying they had 10, 12 eggs, and only a few survived after a few days, so with my 1 egg I held no hope of it making it to day 1 or 2 or 3, the clinic have an online system to check development of eggs, so on day 3 I checked and my one egg had made it to 9 cells and ET was scheduled, on day 5 by little egg had turned into an early blastocyst and the Dr said I was good for transfer, and by the time they transferred a few hours later he said it had developed further which was a great sign.

We were meant to travelling back home on day of transfer so had to reschedule flight for next day as DH had to be back at work, so on night of transfer we travelled to a few hours to where we were leaving from, stayed over and caught flight back in the morning.

My one egg is inside me for now, and the TWW is now underway! I know that the success rate is low but I am channeling all positivity I can!

x

Letsdothis43 and maybe2019 thank you. Hoping these two on board make it to the finish line.
Overseas IVF isn't for everyone but I definitely found UK far more stressful because they were soooo negative towards us conceiving. For us, we had all our consultations via Skype and email and all scans here in a clinic in London, results were sent directly to clinic, all meds came via Stork. Clinix advised date to be at clinic, we decided to make a holiday in the sun out of it, we had the time of our lives hiring a boat and exploring islands and just chilling on a beach. After EC we relaxed for a bit and caught flight home. They stayed in regular contact to let us know development and then left us to it to decide a transfer date. FET process was even simpler.
I understand that this may seem more stressful to you as we all habe different stress thresholds. Good luck whatever you decide

Rememberallball · 27/01/2019 21:49

@AniSL, what are the instant hCG blood tests? Do they tell you the level of hCG or just that it’s detected it?

AniSL · 28/01/2019 12:56

Rememberallball its an instant blood test that we use at the clinic unfortunately

Rememberallball · 28/01/2019 14:29

Ahh, ok. Was just wondering whether it was like the Medicheck ones (though they have to be sent by post for analysis).

I’ve spoken to a lovely GP this morning - we’ve only been registered st the surgery for 2 months and, apart from a new patient appointment, haven’t been in the surgery. He has booked me in for bloods tomorrow and Thursday to check my levels are rising. I also need to speak to the midwives as we are away till mid March and he is happy for me to wait till then for my booking in appointment. I know I’m going to automatically be consultant led because of my absolute ‘getiatric’ age at 47, so I hope this isn’t going to cause a problem. It’s all feeling very real today!!

AniSL · 28/01/2019 15:16

That's awesome rememberallball and 47 is not geriatric 😂

Got my blood tests back - 335 so my clinic is happy

Rememberallball · 29/01/2019 14:25

In pregnancy terms anything over 40 is classed as a geriatric mother!!

AniSL · 29/01/2019 14:49

Lol, my consultant at Newlife was actually pregnant and 43, we had a chuckle at how they world views women over 40 being pregnant.
Its apparently a fact that women over 40 who manage to get pregnant, are more likely to carry to full term than those under - who'd have thought eh!

Rememberallball · 29/01/2019 15:40

That’s a fantastic statistic!! A friend of mine is 9 days younger than me and, on her birthday a month ago today, she had her ivf twins by c section - they were born a day shy of 35 weeks and were only born then because she had been bleeding on and off for a few weeks. And she used her own eggs which I thought was amazing!!

Viletta · 30/01/2019 20:41

@Letsdothis43 that's amazing results! Thank you for sharing the story! Holding everything for you! I'm going to Reprofit in April, amazing that they have online monitoring system! Good luck! Hope you are managing the stress of the 2ww. I found Mindful IVF meditation useful xxx

Viletta · 30/01/2019 20:42

@Rememberallball @AniSL congratulations, ladies!! Really good news!

Rememberallball · 30/01/2019 21:52

Thank you so much @Viletta. Good luck for your cycle when it comes around xx
