We are planning IVF in Czech in January and will start meds around 2nd January! It's our first ever cycle so I am very nervous about the injections etc. Just wondering if anyone else in the same boat and where you are having treatment?

I have a donor egg serum baby after 4 cycles in the UK, I can't fault them

AniSL · 09/12/2018 19:58

Twinkledag I am cleansing my body from all the hormones that I was pumped full off during the egg retrieval stage, I read that they leave your endo and womb in a less desirable condition for implantation . Making sure I drink at least 2 litres daily too. I dont drink or smoke but am wary about all the do's and donts as I have seen plenty that disprove theories

Letsdothis43 · 04/01/2019 02:47

@pumpkin18 good luck for your treatment! I might see you at the clinic! if my cycle starts in the next few days I predict to be in Brno for around 15-16th (although may be a few days later!)

My first IVF attempt too, nervous yet excited!

Pumpkin18 · 04/01/2019 07:12

Thank you @Letsdothis43 my cycle has started right on plan so starting meds tomorrow (eek!!!) And flying out next Saturday

AF put in her appearance on Saturday and we managed to get my bloods and scan done in time to get results on Monday. Started all my meds on Monday in coordination with our egg donor. Spent monday booking everything including package holiday (worked out almost £600 cheaper than booking flights and using clinic’s accommodation package), coach trip to Heathrow, hotel overnight there pre flight.

We go to Heathrow on Wednesday, fly out to Cyprus on Thursday and our first appointment at clinic is on Friday scheduled to happen alongside egg and sperm collection. Embryo transfe4 is pencilled in to happen the following Thursday and we then have another week before we fly home.

Can’t believe in less than a week we’ll be out there and having the actual treatment especially because we had to delay 3 times last year for family reasons!!

Good luck to everyone else this month xx

Letsdothis43 · 04/01/2019 22:21

@Pumpkin18 let us know how you get on with the injections! fingers crossed!

@rememberallball good luck to you too, and please check in when you have time!

Viletta · 04/01/2019 23:34

@Pumpkin18 and @Rememberallball good luck to you both! How exciting!!

Rememberallball · 05/01/2019 00:47

@Viletta, thank you so much. Added an extra estrodiol tablet from today (well, yesterday now) and had a message from the clinic to see how I am. Booked seats for both coach journeys and the 4 flights we have got. Scan on Sunday at 11:20am and then off to see DSS and his family for dinner. Seeing DSD on Wednesday before we fly out to Cyprus. It’s all getting very real now!!

Viletta · 05/01/2019 11:05

@Rememberallball looks like you've got everything under control! The weather in Cyprus should be much better too! Hope the whole experience is going to be amazing and the most importantly fx for the final results! Let us know how you get on!

We are torn between IVI in Spain vs Reprofit in Czech. IVI is going to be more expensive however we do have a free accommodation nearby. Erch.. in the meantime got all the supplements and rolling into 3 healthiest months we can manage before the cycle!

AniSL · 06/01/2019 08:08

I am on course to have my FET next week in Greece, bit worried that the snowstorms will thwart our plans, fx it won't. On Progynova and Folic at mo and have an endo scan on Tuesday, cupping on Monday so all go here.

Pumpkin18 · 06/01/2019 09:03

First injection was fine, barely felt it. Was a faff to mix but hopefully it will get easier

Rememberallball · 06/01/2019 19:23

@Pumpkin18, as you get used to handling the syringe and vial you’ll find it becomes easier to draw them up, and before you know it, you’ll be doing it automatically Nd without thinking about it.

Rememberallball · 06/01/2019 19:29

Had our second endometrial thickness scan today and, since last Saturday when it was 2.5mm thick with a single line, today nit was 9.89mm with 3 defined lines. Sent the report and images off to our clinic in Cyprus and should hear tomorrow whether we need to up the estrodiol tablets or whether we stick with the dose I’m already taking (last year I didn’t need to increase from 3 to 4 tablets because I responded so well to the 3x2mg dose).

Just 2 more days then we’re heading up to London ready for our flight on Thursday morning. Tomorrow I’m going to do the packing and workout if there’s is anything we need from the shops and then we will go outs in the afternoon if there is.

Beginning to feel very real now!!

Maybe2019 · 06/01/2019 22:34

Hey Ladies!

Wow exciting times for everyone. I am getting ready to go to Greece on Wednesday for my initial consultation with Serum. I am so nervous too and haven't even started treatment yet! Ain't got a clue what they'll recommend. I still can't believe I am going to do my future IVF abroad!!! I am excited and scared at the same time.

Good luck ladies on your cycles Smile

Rememberallball · 07/01/2019 00:36

Good luck to you for your trip to Greece as well, @maybe2019 xx

Letsdothis43 · 07/01/2019 02:19

Good luck @Reemberallball and @Maybe2019

AF arrived yesterday so I start my meds in a few hours, although first day of cycle is minor spotting and not full flow, not sure what to do, do I count day one of cycle when spotting starts or do count it from day of proper (ish) period. My DH was going to give me my first injection before he left for work in the morning and I don't think I'll receive a reply from my clinic that early in the morning. Not quite sure what to do!

Good luck all and @Pumpkin18 hope you're getting on ok with your Injections still!

Rememberallball · 07/01/2019 17:11

@Letsdothis43, my clinic said that, if you have full flow in the morning then that should be counted as day 1, if you have full flow in the afternoon then it’s day 0. They said it should be when you get full flow needing pads/tampons and not just spotting

Pumpkin19 · 07/01/2019 22:07

Day 3 of injections and its getting easier, I still dont like the initial jabbing it in bit but it doesnt really hurt. Stings a little bit afterwards but I have a mini ice pack I put on it for a few mins. Have noticed a bit of wind/bloating when I go to bed but nothing major. Have got day 7 scan on Thursday so will see what's going on then! Good luck to everyone. @Letsdothis43 did you start meds today?

Letsdothis43 · 07/01/2019 23:04

Hi All,

Thanks @Rememberallball, yes my clinic said that if I'm normally light to count yesterday as day one and take medications this morning (Monday) but if I'm normally quite full flow to count day one as full flow which would be today so I start injecting in the morning (Tuesday) This has now put me somewhat on weird days for my ultrasounds CD7 and CD9 which land on Sunday 13th and Tuesday 15th (we fly out morning of 15th to Prague then train to Brno as direct flights from Stansted don't fly out on a Tues and Wednesday!).

Hi @Pumpkin18 leading onto your question! I am going to start in the morning, Glad to hear they are not too bad will keep a mini ice pack close by! Was going to send you a PM!

I had booked my flights on Sat night 11.30pm Sunday morning counting 7 and 9 day scans as being Saturday and Monday and flying out Tuesday but am now worried about timings! I may have to travel with my trigger injection and other meds they sent me.

My clinic co-ordinator is lovely however I only get one response a day so I've written every possible question I have regarding everything this evening with anticipation all will be answered in the morning. One thing I am sure about is the Meds start in the morning!

Good luck with the scan on Thursday @Pumpkin18!

Maybe2019 · 10/01/2019 17:59

Hello Ladies,

Hope you're all doing well and your cycles are going as planned!

Thank you for the well wishes @rememberallball @letsdothis43

Getting ready to head back home tomorrow from Greece. Hubby's DNA fragmentation results came back with him having high level of oxidative stress. Will definitely have an impact in our IVF. Also I didn't feel too confident with Serum. I don't know what it was, I wasn't overly comfortable or happy with how the consultation went or their advise. I don't know, I was just left thinking...meh Confused

I'm not sure if any of you ladies can give me some advise? It is normal for me to feel this way?!

Pumpkin19 · 10/01/2019 19:00

@Maybe2019 I would be reluctant if I came home not sure on the clinic. We came home from consultation at Reprofit feeling in good hands and ready to go with the next steps.

Maybe2019 · 10/01/2019 20:51

@pumpkin19 I know right? That's exactly what I'm thinking...this is not a good indication. I've already reached out to Reprofit via their contact us page. I really do need to explore another clinic. Such a shame making that visit to only feel like we're back to square 1.

Good luck with your cycle!

twinkledag · 10/01/2019 22:44

@Maybe2019 - who did you see at Serum??

Rememberallball · 10/01/2019 22:46

We arrived in Cyprus this evening (21:00 local time) had supper and checked into our room - got a twin room but had requested a double and DH wants me to be able to relax next week after the ET so he wants us to ask for a change tomorrow. We are also struggling with internet - I know it’s not the end of the world but, with a lot of hours to be resting, we want to keep in touch with home!!

First clinic appointment is at 10am and they’ve got the car coming at 9:30am for us so we plan to be up and on the go about 8am so we can eat and move rooms before we go - hopefully they won’t have a problem moving us!!

@Maybe2019, you have to have absolute confidence in your clinic especially when it’s got the added stress factor of being abroad. The fact you feel ‘meh’ says it’s not the right clinic for you - and one thing we pay for is a package that’s right for us!! I’d speak to another couple of clinics ofif you can and set up Skype calls to discuss things. We were contemplating changing clinic because communication seemed to be less forthcoming this time round - but I told them what I wasn’t happy about, what I wanted in the way of communication and that, as we’re lying for this, we can always walk away - it seemed to help and the new coordinator has been a bit more forthcoming with information rather than just telling me it’s the same as last time (when I’ve shown them it isn’t!!)

Maybe2019 · 11/01/2019 09:12

@rememberallball

I was in touch with a couple of clinics previously in Turkey. I was set to go with a clinic called Jinemed but I didn't appreciate the way the coordinator was talking to me towards the point of making plans to go there. Some people don't know how to talk to infertile couples. Throwing words out like "You're a poor responder, you have low ovarian reserve, you don't have alot of time left" are not helpful things to say to someone without sensitivity. The guy made me feel like it was my fault I didnt respond well to stimulation and that I have low amount of eggs! I cried for days after that conversation and that was that.
