What's yours, how old are you and did your Ivf cycle work?

AMH was 9 at age 40. Had IVF, only four eggs retrieved, only two made it to day 3 and things looked bleak BUT.....they implanted both and now I have twins. So so lucky. Never give up hope.

Thanks for all your comments. I think I'm going to just put it to the back of my mind. It doesn't feel a very accurate test. You're born with all the eggs you'll ever have so I can't see how it can fluctuate so much. We're on cycle 15 of trying naturally. Feels like it'll never happen but you've given me hope xx

AMH 10.4 at age 40. (FSH 5.4)

First cycle - only 6 eggs collected, all fertilised, 4 made it to day 5 blast but only 2 of decent quality. Both transferred - BFN.

Second cycle - spent the three months between cycles doing loads of things to improve egg quality - 12 eggs collected, 11 fertilised, 7 made it to day 5 blasts. 2 good quality embies frozen and two top quality hatching blasts transferred - currently pregnant with twins.

@CritterTamer wow congrats! 👶🏼👶🏼 What did you do to improve egg quality?

CritterTamer · 11/11/2018 15:57

Thankyou @Squirrelnutkins1. I worked on egg quality and also lining thickness as it wasn’t great for cycle 1 at 9.3mm. For cycle 2 it was 12mm. Here’s what I did for the three months between cycles:

Acupuncture every other week and weekly on lead up to cycle start.
Daily fertility yoga
90 minutes of moderate to high intensity cardio exercise every other day, on alternate days 1 hour of gentle exercise
Changed my preconception multi vitamins to the Zita West IVF preparation pack - this includes DHA oils and vitamin D spray
10g spirulina powder daily
5g raw organic maca powder daily
Drank raspberry leaf tea
Generally increased protein intake (I’m vegetarian and definitely wasn’t getting enough)
I quit caffeine, with the exception of the occasional Diet Coke as a treat. I don’t drink alcohol anyway.
Used testosterone gel for one month prior to cycle start (I think this has to be prescribed)
Worked very hard to reduce stress levels which were sky high prior to starting cycle 1. For me this meant quitting my horribly stressful job which i hated anyway, and going part time.
Guided Meditation and visualisation, also to reduce stress.
We also changed my protocol slightly for cycle 2 so that an LH free stim was used for the first 6 days of stimulation, then 3 days of LH and FSH. First cycle we used LH/FSH throughout and I stimulated way too fast (7 days). Took 9 days second time around.

I hope some of this helps you but I would say the 4 biggest things for me were acupuncture (for lining and ovary stimulation as well as balancing hormone levels), yoga for egg quality, testosterone for egg quality and vitamin D spray for egg quality.

75 pmol aged 32, but I have severe pcos and ovulating once in a blue moon

Si1ver · 12/11/2018 09:22

2.4 pmol/l at 37 iirc.

6 eggs retrieved, 5 mature, all fertilised through ICSI. One transferred, two frozen, 29 weeks pregnant.

My IVF came after two years of trying naturally and one miscarriage during that time. My clinic told me that the only surprising thing was that I'd ever conceived naturally.

Mine was 6.3 at age of 31. Had 8 eggs collected 9 months later.. had twins! No Frosties.
