Ivf - who did you tell?

Just that really. I'm about to start my first cycle and told my parents, who didn't seem very supportive/approving, and certainly didn't ask how we were feeling about it. That surprised me and I regret telling them now. What have your experiences been? What were your expectations of support from family? Or did you just keep it to yourselves?

I told almost everyone except our parents - though I told anyone who asked 'when I would know if it worked' that I wouldn't know the results until April. I started my cycle of IVF in November. Grin

No one said anything weird or pestered to know if I was pregnant. My cycle did not go very well (lots of follicles, hardly any eggs, sharp embryo drop off at 5days) and it was brilliant to have support of people - plenty said things like "I have no idea what that means, but you sound upset and I'm so sorry". A couple of particularly brilliant friends did kind things in the run up - bought us Cook vouchers, offered to pay for a cleaning service, brought over a bottle of wine - because they knew it was (physically and mentally) a really tough month for us.

Good luck with your IVF cycle. Flowers
