Hi Ladies! Finally I will have my first IVF treatment as soon as my next cycle starts which I expect it to be more or less end of September/beginning of October. My periods are very irregular so I never know exactly. My consultant suggested antagonist protocol which I will receive in post soon. I am extremely excited but then realistic about the fact that it might not be successful first time.

How are you feeling ladies? When are you due to start your Ivf Journey? Fingers crossed for all of us fighters;-)

ElizabethCatherine 😕 sorry to hear that. But everything is happening for a reason. U still have 2 frozen. And as soon as you feel better things will happen for you 👶🏼 You have gone this far and surely can get past this. I am wishing you to wake up tomorrow morning and feel 100% again.

Minster2012 · 12/10/2017 21:23

Aliona just read back my post, there was a typo, it should have read if U have a wait of a few months including Christmas it will go much faster than you think. Stupid typing! I can't carry due to ongoing cancer immunotherapy treatment I can't stop so my lovely best friend is my surrogate but we haven't told anyone so it's excruciating. Any waiting for anyone is horrible, I think maybe shorter is worse as at least we could 'do the embryos then forget about it' for a while.

@ElizabethCatherine my heart goes out to you, firstly, rest assured your embryos will go on ice and that bit will not be wasted. Day 3 embryos are completely viable & successful so don't fret about that, they will be waiting for you when you are fit & well.

It sounds horrendous & you must feel awful, sending much unmumsnetty hugs & love & hope you recover really quickly & that you have DH there to help you xxFlowers

Aliona19 · 12/10/2017 21:36

Minster2012 I don’t blame you for not telling people. We are way to judgimental and always have something to say. As long as you have closest next to you to give the support you need. ❤️
Waiting is horrible and I am a nightmare! I need things done right here right now and I need all answers. I can’t even watch hollyoaks without getting annoyed and losing my patience 😀 I am ok now but from tomorrow I will go crazy waiting for news..I need a switch off button

Filipinam · 13/10/2017 10:16

OMG Girls!!!! Just had a phone call from my clinic!!! 8 out of 13 eggs have fertilised!!!!! they can't say much about quality yet but I think so far this is a good result! so they transfer is likely to be on Sunday or Tuesday if 3 of the eggs are very good quality if not then Sunday;-) I am soooo excited!!!!

Anyone had a similar result?

Aliona19 · 13/10/2017 10:34

Filipinam 😀 well done girl. You must be clinging on that phone waiting for all those news 😅 I am just in the waiting room looking very hot in that hospital gown waiting for my eggs being collected 😰

Minster2012 · 13/10/2017 10:36

Filip that's excellent numbers, 8 is brilliant! You should be really pleased fingers crossed you keep getting good news from the calls on quality, are they going to keep you informed? We got 2 out of 3 fertilised so similar maybe, we were very pleased because of only getting 3 eggs then 2 fertilised. We got 1 call 1 st morning saying 1 hadn't made it but 2 fertilised, then another the morning after day 2 saying the other 2 still looking very good then day 3 saying they are high quality & can they freeze (as we were freezing straight away).

What's the 3 on Sunday for, are you transferring 3?? Or then picking & freezing?

That's excellent though xx

Has anyone read the other thread from goodluck on her transfer as she seems to have dropped off here, transferred 1 (after worrying about twins) & got 3 to freeze so that's also excellent so she's now waiting! Gius numbers ladies!! Sending you sticky thoughts goodluck

Minster2012 · 13/10/2017 10:37

Ooh Aliona good luck!!! It'll be fine you'll soon be out xxx

Aliona19 · 13/10/2017 10:45

Minster2012 thank you ❤️

Goodluckjonathan76 · 13/10/2017 10:46

That sounds good Filipam. Fingers crossed!

So, I had ET transfer yesterday and they put in 1 blastocyst graded 3b-. They recommended 2 but we went with 1 due to risk of twins. They have frozen the 3 remaining blastocysts, 1 graded 3b+ and 2 others graded between 1 and 2b+/c. Apparently they were all good enough quality to be frozen. So if this doesn't work then we have 3 further gos. I asked why they didn't put in the 3b+ blast and they said they put in the best blast at the time on ET. They keep monitoring them for the rest of the afternoon yesterday and the other blastocyst obviously kept developing which explains why they say day 5/6 as things can change in a matter of hours. So, we shall see.

When is everyone planning to test?

Goodluckjonathan76 · 13/10/2017 10:49

Thank you Minister! I was literally just updating here! I just spoke to the embryologist and he said it was an excellent result to get 4 good quality blasts. Makes me feel slightly less like an old bag (I am 41!). I am so conditioned for failure after TTC that I cannot even countenance it working. Seems to random.

ElizabethCatherine, so sorry to hear what happened. At least you can try again with the ones on ice.

Minster2012 · 13/10/2017 11:03

It's really good news Goodluck and means you can try and avoid the twins as much as you can, there's always a risk with any embryo so good plan, and very good result with 3 extras!! Your body works!!! I know that feeling!! I'm so used to thinking "my body's faulty" and when I got told "your egg numbers are low it probably wouldn't work TTC naturally anyway I thought "of course not cos I'm broken" it was so good that when my eggs & DH's Søren got put together we were like "yeah see, when they get together they know what to do, they work!! Not so broken!!!" So I totally understand!! So hopefully now ones been popped back in a cosy environment it can grow!! Smile

Goodluckjonathan76 · 13/10/2017 11:09

Minister, I completely agree! DH and I started thinking it was us as a couple, i.e. we don't work together, especially as we both have kids with other people but not together. It's lovely that our DNA has merged on a very basic level. And it's nice to have it back inside. God, I could get all emotional! Ridiculous.

Clinic just called with results from blood test saying progesterone levels are perfect so to continue with same dose (2 x crinone and 2 x cyclones per day). Is it just me or is anyone else completely staving all the time? Wondering if it's the progesterone.

Filipinam · 13/10/2017 11:47

Minster I was referring to day 3, they will call me on Sunday morning once they have decided if to transfer on Sunday day 3 or is it better to wait to blastocyst stage on Tuesday. Obviously transferring at blastocyst stage gives you higher possibility of pregnancy isn't it?

OP posts:
Minster2012 · 13/10/2017 13:59

Ah right yes I see now, yes it seemingly is preferred to do day 5's unless there is a specific reason, like ours were frozen on day 3 and as we only have 2 and it's difficult (or impossible we don't know) for me to break treatment again to try for more eggs, they will thaw at night & be given the night to "wake up & get on a bit" hopefully as long as they react then we will transfer the next day, so day 4? Because we can't really risk them dying we're just gonna put one in & hope! But yes, if ppl have decent numbers then it's recommended to pick the best by growing on Smile
