Anyone tried inofolic? Its supposed to help people with pcos ovulate and ultimately get pregant. Just sounds a bit too goo to be true and its quite pricey. Thanks for your help. Smile

Sweet211 · 12/10/2018 13:04

I'm on metformin for my diabetes and it's shortened my cycle it's just about ovulation and egg quality

Roselondon1 · 09/11/2018 08:12

Hiya, where do you all buy your inofolic from? X

longtimelurkerfirsttimeposter · 18/11/2018 16:32

Old thread but I totally credit inofolic for my pregnancy. Was TTC for 4 years, exactly 3 months on inofolic and got my BFP. Took it throughout my pregnancy and loved every moment of it, no bad symptoms of pregnancy whatsoever! That could just have been luck of course.

I did clean up my diet at the same time and cut out as much sugar as I could, I believe that was a large factor in why I wasn't ovulating before (the whole insulin dysfunction with PCOS).

Sweet211 · 18/11/2018 19:36

Omg congrats @longtimelurkerfirsttimeposter I'm on metformin been 2 months now don't know if I can take inofolic too ive got diabetes type 2 I've been through an successful ivf after an FET so confused on what to do

Menor · 05/01/2019 04:00

Yes! I was prescribed metfomin 500mg thrice daily, I took it for 2 months with no periods. I decided to add inofolic after reading about it. Took it for just a month, had my period, continued with both, had a positive pregnancy test the following month.

I had a pregnancy which I unfortunately miscarried but I put the pregnancy down to using Infolic. I'm PCOS and it's really helped regulate my periods. I buy mine from Amazon, it's £14 for a months supply rather than £30 for the one my Doc recommended. I use the brand Viridian. I find it dissolves better in water too

Pinkroseuk · 21/01/2019 21:33

I have PCOS and have been taking metformin - no periods for two years - can I take metformin and infolic together? Might give it a go thanks

Menor · 21/01/2019 23:52

Yes. I took both inofolic and metformin and I got pregnant within two months.

Pinkroseuk · 24/01/2019 19:14

Thanks @Menor

Menor · 24/01/2019 19:16

You are welcome, and best of luck

Try Inofolic....I’m pregnant!!

I’ve been trying to conceive for 18 months, was diagnosed with polycystic ovaries and the consultant suggested I try Inofolic whilst I wait to start fertility treatment. 6 weeks after starting it and I’m pregnant!

I don’t know for certain it was the Inofolic. I was told I had a small chance of getting pregnant naturally but it was the only thing that changed after 18 months of trying.

It’s not cheap but it’s a hell of a lot cheaper than fertility treatment and I encourage you to try it! It was recommended by one of the top fertility specialists in the UK and hope that provides reassurance to anyone.

Pinkroseuk · 14/02/2019 13:21

Thanks @Hopefulmamma - congratulations!
I have been taking it for about a month and periods have not returned yet but will continue just in case! Thanks

hello ladies.. i’m new here. i have pcos since 14 years. diagnosed very early but never treated properly, i have a son 8yrs old. and after that i never had a child, i desperately want a baby. but in Uk doctors never helped me for having another pregnancy, irregular and missed period all the time, i cant afford IVf . can anybody tell me if theres any cheap fertility clinic where i can go and a doctor might recommend some medicine, as i wish to try clomid cycle, but cant take on my own . and i am over weight, 90kg at the moment. a doctor abroad in my hometown refused me for an ivf as the temperature there is too high and they say being overweight in pcos can cause serious problem if having ivf . Can anyone guide me what to do? as it is a problem from yearss, cant be cured without a specialized doctor’s advice, thanks

hey everyone! I'm new to this page and to forums. I know this is an old post but I was hoping some of you lovely people can help. We've been trying to conceive for just over a year with no luck. Ive had ultra sounds and bloods which all came back normal apart from there was no ovulation. Im now under a fertility consultant. I dont have pcos from what they can see. (Even though I have classic symptoms) They want to do more investigation like with the dyes and stuff but won't until my BMI is down! She recommended inofolic alpha, which I've had a read of and have ordered 5 months worth, however the website mainly talks about pcos and inofolic. Do you think this will work for me? Has anyone had the same experiences? Thanks X

MsJay81 · 24/01/2021 14:19

Hi have you given it a try yet, ur situation sounds a lot like mine and was wondering if your periods have returned, would love to know thank youu xx

Cecil88 · 25/02/2021 09:43

Hi, I am new to this page. I was diagnosed with PCOS about 3 years ago and have about 2-3 periods a year. I started inofolic alpha about 6 weeks ago following advice from my consultant. I got a period after 3 weeks. Hoping it was a result of taking inofolic! Is it possible for it to work so quickly? X

Soulsta · 02/12/2023 16:46

Hi @Flower89 @Cherry321 @Garnet08 @dilydaly

It's been some time since this thread, was wondering how you all got on with taking infolic alpha?

I'm really in two minds between ordering infolic or myo inositol supplements in tablet form. TTC next few months hopefully, but have PCOS and cycles are all over the place.

Thank you x

MoonIightDreamer · 02/12/2023 16:54

I've taken it for quite a well and to be honest it didn't help my cycles or help me get pregnant. I think the only thing that helped regulate my cycle and ovulate on my own was when I completely cut out sugar altogether. Have tried every supplement out there. I was spending £200 a month on supplements and they did nothing. In the end it was ivf that helped me get pregnant

Hopefulmamma · 03/12/2023 13:52

Hi, I believe inofolic helped me get pregnant 3 times! I was recommended it by a top London fertility consultant and within 3 months was pregnant. I’ve now had 3 kids and used it each time to help with pcos and get pregnant. It might be placebo, it might not. It’s worth trying before you go down ivf route. Good luck!

Soulsta · 03/12/2023 21:05

@MoonIightDreamer @Hopefulmamma thanks for sharing

After reading more about infolic on mumsnet, I realise theres a split- either it helped people or it didn't. Alot have mentioned taking myo inositol alone as it's cheaper and does the job, hmm.

Losing weight is definetely one of my goals and beleive it will jelp with so many of the pcos symptoms.
