Anyone else in infertility testing limbo?

I am currently having tests to see why we might be struggling to get pregnant. Months pass in between each test and it just feels like time is going by and we're in limbo waiting for a diagnosis or for the Drs to decide we can have treatment. When read the ongoing threads here most are (understandably) about people having treatment and I just wish we're at that stage after 18 months of no luck and serious trying. Does anyone else feel like they're a bit stuck at a stage between people who are trying excitedly to get pregnant on the TTC boards and people who are having treatment? Obviously I hope we'll be able to have treatment in the future and can join in the chat (or get pregnant naturally!) but for now it would be great to compare notes with people in the testing stage. I hope this doesn't sound like a moan about any other threads because they've been really useful to me over the last months. I'm just feeling a little lonesome and have no one IRL going through the same thing.

In shock this morning. There is a faint line (12 dpo). Today is the day we are going to test DH's sperm analysis. We've been trying consistently for 11 months and on and off for 3 years. I don't know if the line is real, or some kind of elaborate self-delusion.

I hope this is OK, I posted in case it gives everyone hope. And also because I really don't know if it is, I'm going to test again tomorrow and see if it's still there. My mind is reeling in disbelief (and, dizzyness). Surely if it is, it won't stick around?

Wow April, that's great news!! Fingers crossed for you!! And yes it gives me hope :)

Gonegirl, yes that is a very strange reaction, I'm not surprised you haven't told anyone else! Some people are unbelievable.

Sorry I haven't replied for a while, I've been away with work. Glad to hear things are moving along for a couple of you, that's great news.

I'm struggling this cycle as thought we had a good shot and then I got my period 6 days after ovulation. I haven't had a short luteal phase before so now it's something else to worry about! Hoping it's just because of stress as I traveled to the US.

Anyway, trying not to feel sorry for myself and just get on with things but it's so hard to stay positive and I feel surrounded by pregnant people at work!!

Hope you've all had a good day :)

Wow April that's brilliant news, thanks for sharing it with us Smile. Are you testing again today? Fingers and toes crossed for you if so.

GoneGirl Yeah, no idea what the dr was thinking but have got DH on the case now as was getting too fraught trying to sort everything out.

Got my AMH results back after calling about 5 times then being told they'd had them for weeks. Never mind though as they were 18.5 which is about average for my age so that's great.

Sorry you're struggling this cycle Kiwi, it's so annoying when our bodies play up and do weird stuff. I do find long haul travel can mess with my cycle though so maybe it was the US trip.

Hope everyone else it doing ok.

Fingers crossed for you April if you're testing again today Smile

Moondreamer, great news about the AMH! Nice to get some good news while you're waiting for them to sort the referral - hope that is sorted out as soon as possible. In the meantime how are you going on the staying healthy focus? (I am also trying to focus on this to have something constructive to do!)

Thanks, I really hope it was the travel that messed my cycle. I've only had one progesterone test done in a previous cycle and it was a bit low (17) so I'm worried something is wrong. I am going to have the progesterone test repeated next cycle, so just have to wait and see.

Hope you're all doing ok!

Thank you! I got another faint line, but I've bought a Clearblue now to see how that goes tomorrow. I'd given up hope of it happening naturally so I still feel so thrown by it. I even had a glass and a half of wine in the two week wait, because I'd started cramping, and because abstention has always been for nothing in the past!

Good luck Kiwi, I think with the progesterone test they often miss the optimal day, I hope your next test is more promising.

I do think it helped me this month to have the my fitness pal thing to focus on, and I lost five and a half pounds, I'm not sure if it was the thing that helped, this month I ovulated really early, and happened to catch the surge early.

kiwiblue · 01/08/2015 16:30

That's great news April, fingers crossed for tomorrow!

Don't worry about the wine. I'm the same, I haven't been good about abstaining lately.

Thanks for the reassurance re progesterone, the timing was wrong for my last test so hoping it was that.

Hope everyone's having a good day :)

Hello All :) Pleased to say my lap and dye and Hcosy went well (just waiting for final stitches to dissolve!) and AF returned the following week, on CD381! Now on Clomid and hoping that does the trick.

GreenMary · 05/08/2015 20:49

We have recently decided to try ivf with ivf-sunrise.net/ and made our first try. Now waiting for results... That's so difficult just to wait...

kiwiblue · 08/09/2015 15:37

Hey, how's everyone doing?

Update from me - still very much in limbo! Had first fertility appt today and was just referred for HSG and told if that's normal (all other tests have been normal) we have to wait until we've been trying for 3 years (we're currently at 2) before we receive any treatment because of the area we're in. It's such a long journey and we'd waited so long for this appointment and it was such a waste of time. Feeling pretty down about everything, but trying to just pick myself up and carry on - I feel like it will be years before I have a baby (if ever) so I can't spend it feeling depressed - I'm trying anyway!!

Hope everything's going well with you all.

Pebbles086 · 08/09/2015 18:25

Hello, I haven't posted on here for a while!
moomim best of luck with the Clomid, great that you've got the ball rolling Grin

kiwi that long wait is crap!! Any idea how long you'll be waiting for HSG?
Have you been given any diagnosis before? What are your cycles like and do you OV?
Only asking as I have PCOS and have just tried a supplement called Soy Isoflavones, ??4 frm tesco. I've done a lot of research (googling) and it's meant to work similar to clomid. As it makes you OV. I took it on cycle day 3-7 and think I may have OV'd but PCOSs make ovulation a tests very unreliable! I thought it was worth a shot anyway as it cannot do any harm Smile
Really hope you get your appt ASAP and all is well xxx

Moomin37 · 08/09/2015 19:49

Hey Pebbles unfortunately I suffered visual disturbances on my first round of Clomid, so I can't continue with it :( I had a progesterone score of 27. However, AF did arrive after about 28 days - check that out! :) Starting injectable gonadotropins next month (I think I get 6 cycles of that and it counts as one round of IVF).

How are things with you?

Elektra83 · 08/09/2015 20:04

Hi All, am still waiting too, but we have our nurse consultation this week, hopefully that will ease the frustration!

The crazy is out in full force and I'm panicking over everything I eat and am worried I will have put on weight which will delay the treatment! Gah!

kiwiblue · 09/09/2015 07:33

Thanks Pebbles. I don't think I have to wait for HSG, they said to just call them once I get my next period. So hopefully I'll get it done in a couple of weeks. This area sucks for waiting times, but we're actually moving out of it soon (although that's frustrating too as I think if we'd only moved already I'd be eligible for treatment now!)

I don't have any diagnosis or anything wrong with me that they have found so far anyway! Cycles pretty regular and I do ovulate although some variability in luteal phase.

Hope the soy isoflavones continue to work for you, that sounds hopeful! I've heard of them working for other people on here.

Elektra, hope the nurse appointment goes well.

Moomin, good luck with the injectable gonadotropins!

Moomin37 · 09/09/2015 16:34

Thanks Kiwiblue all the best with your move Smile
