After 3 full failed IVF's last year, I am about to embark on my second last attempt. I started an IVF thread during my last IVF, and everyone got pregnant but me. So I swore I wouldn't do that again this time. But I find myself wanting to chat with people going through what I am, so I am starting the thread again. Join me as I seem to be a BFP magnet!

Wow. ET tomorrow Liquorice. Did I miss the update about how many eggs and fertilisation rate? (I love the stats so I can learn for my next IVF)

Finally moving on to stimms Happily! Now it's all happening.

I am plodding along carriebella, thank you so much for asking. I'm a bit scared to mention too much! The first time I started a thread when doing IVF, everyone got pregnant but me! I then started this thread and then had to cancel and am now just rooting you all on. But basically I have ovulated this cycle and will be going ahead with IVF next cycle. Here I go again...

Oooh....good luck Liquorice - I've got everything crossed x

Liquoriceallsort · 13/05/2014 16:03

Shellster that is excellent! What cd are you? Do you still need to get to 20? I am not very superstitious but I understand if you are and don't want to say. I am all about the positive thinking!

I had 15 eggs of which 13 fertilised. They phoned on day 3 (yesterday) to say they are still going strong so I will update you tomorrow if you want?

Purple and Carrie I hope this period of time flies by for you both.

Happily good luck with the stims!

Happilymarried155 · 13/05/2014 17:35

Thanks everyone!

Good luck for tommorow liquorice!

Had dh SA back today and it seems vitamins have done the trick. Everything seems to have doubled and be really good and morophology has gone from 1% to 8% which is now within the normal range! So pleased to get this before we do ivf! :)

Hope things are going well shellster, can you start soon? X

Happilymarried155 · 13/05/2014 17:36

Just read above shellster-that's great :) x

WalterAndTheAstronauts · 14/05/2014 02:29

Great news Liquorice really pleased for you. Keep us posted xx

Liquoriceallsort · 14/05/2014 13:50

Thank you for your wishes everyone! It all went smoothly (apparently) and I now have two embies on board! Eek!

Happilymarried155 · 14/05/2014 20:34

That's great news :) fingers crossed x

purplemeggie · 14/05/2014 20:52

Excellent news! Good luck - keeping everything crossed for you. Did you have a choice of one or two, or was that your clinic's recommendation? Just wondering because ours was really anti two on day 5 and I'm interested in the differences in strategies...

...there's a definite up-turn in events on this thread after a bit of a low point for everyone. Good to see the positive vibes back in force, and wishing everyone good luck x

Liquoriceallsort · 14/05/2014 22:20

I was only supposed to have one as there was one excellent one and one they were going to assess tonight as to whether to freeze. When I got there he said if it were him he would put them both in... So he did!

Shellster52 · 15/05/2014 05:23

Wow Liquoriceallsort! So, from the 13 going strong at day 3, 2 made it to day 5? Sorry to get caught up in the stats. Just nice to know so I can know that this is normal if this happens to me too. I am not superstitious at all either but after I wrote on here last time and things went wrong, I just wanted to try and keep my mouth shut. Will believe in anything after 5 failed IVFs! But it turns out I love venting here and can't do that anyway! Today is CD26. My cycle is usually 24-26 days long, but since I ovulated day 19 this cycle instead of the usual day 15, I have no idea when my period will arrive! Will keep you posted.

Oh and Happily, you must be stoked about those results! I have my husband on several supplements and while his count and motility improved, the morphology stayed at 0% normal! So can I ask what supplements your hubby is taking? Perhaps there is a few from your concoction I could add to my hubbys regime that would make the difference... maybe then we could even get pregnant naturally if my next IVF doesn't work (yeah right!)

OP posts:
Happilymarried155 · 15/05/2014 07:10

I know, that's what I think. I'm so pleased there great but it doesn't explain why we aren't getting pregnant! He is on royal jelly, zinc and pycnogeol (can't remember the correct spelling) this is his fourth one and the others were all 1%. That's great news liquorice! Now the waiting begins! X

Liquoriceallsort · 15/05/2014 07:30

That is great shellster, so pleased you made it past cd20!!

I had 4 yesterday but 2 were not good enough for freezing and the other 2 are on board Smile

Shellster52 · 15/05/2014 09:08

So did your hubby start those supplements only after his third test Happily? My husband is taking the others except for RJ. Will get him started. Any suggestions on dosage? I actually just bought it for myself today along with the Spatone you mentioned. Gotta try everything. Yeah, you are right. Doesn't explain why you aren't getting pregnant still!

Wow, the numbers really go down over the five days don't they Liquorice. Anyway, you have two on board now so as long as one sticks, who cares! Are you prepared for twins???!!!

OP posts:
Happilymarried155 · 15/05/2014 10:59

He takes the 500mg of spa time just like me. Yep only started them after the third one, wasn't sure they would make a difference but I think they have! Everything is now above the 'normal' range for the first time.

I'm so pleased that everything seems to be back on track for everyone, I hope this is the start of lots of bfp!!!:)

purplemeggie · 15/05/2014 17:44

That's really exciting Liquorice - and good news for you, too, Happily and Shellster, so pleased your cycle's behaving a bit better!

Carrie - when cd1 likely to be? And how are you feeling about it all now? x

Shellster52 · 16/05/2014 06:27

There seemed to be a bit of a lul for everyone on this thread but now things all seem to be moving in the right direction. You will be joining us soon Purple as your next cycle gets underway!

I know you must be stressed that it won't work and I don't want to sound naive. Just trying to be positive and upbeat for once!

Hello ladies, I've been lurking on this thread for a while as I've made an appointment for an initial consultation with an IVF clinic on 8th July. It feels like a long time away but this thread is helping me to prepare. I'm nearly 41 and have been ttc first for 2 years since meeting my DH. I had a mc at 39 and another a couple of weeks ago, both at 8.5 weeks. I wish I'd taken this step 2 years ago. I know I won't regret it so I'm feeling happy to take this step alongside you all.

Happilymarried155 · 17/05/2014 13:10

Hi Annie,

Really sorry to hear about your miscarriages, I've been there and know how heartbreaking it can be :( do they know why this happened? I'm in the middle if stimming and so far haven't found it too bad, I think I was prepared for it to be awful but have been lucky enough to not have any side effects or anything. Have a scan next week to find out how many follies so I'm hoping the luck continues!

Everyone on the thread is really lovely and have so many different experiences of ivf so it's a good thread to be on :) x

AnnieHoo · 17/05/2014 14:25

Thanks Happily I can't wait to start although I need the time to recover properly from mc. It's good to hear it's not as bad as you thought it was going to be. Smile
The first mc was a blighted ovum. My NHS OB/GYN took blood tests for us both to chromosome abnormalities and for antiphospholipid antibodies for me. He also sent tissue from the mc away to be analysed. I should get the test results in about 4 weeks.
I really hope your scan goes really well next week.

Happilymarried155 · 17/05/2014 15:07

Mine too was a blighted ovum, after a successful iui treatment. Fingers crossed your tests come back ok.

It goes fairly quickly once you get started I found all the waiting round the hardest! There are things like the endo scratch and the embryo monitoring that you might want to look into before you start. Both are meant to increase success rates, the endo scratch needs to be done just before you start ivf and we had to put our name down for the embryo monitoring. Just something to think about whilst you waiting :) x

purplemeggie · 17/05/2014 22:39

Hello again Annie and welcome to the thread....as Happily says, lots of lovely ladies going through similar things in different ways....talking it through on here always seems to help. Smile

carriebella · 18/05/2014 17:41

Great news you will be starting again soon Shellster, things are looking up!
Hows the 2ww going Liquorice? Hope you are managing to enjoy it and perhaps forget for a while whilst enjoying the sunshine - unlikely! -
Purple - I am due my af in 10 days, on wednesday I had some weird mid cycle spotting? Had a google and it seems quite common after a failed ivf with all the haywire hormones so who knows whether I will be on time or not. If it does arrive on time I think I will have to wait another month due to our hols so im hoping to be a bit late! Feeling ok about it all, at least I go into it this time with my eyes wide open. How about you? Are you going again next month?

Great news about the morphology happily!

Hi Annie, so sorry to hear about your miscarriages, I have no idea how people get through that, you must be so strong.

Shellster52 · 19/05/2014 02:36

A very big welcome to you Annie. Can't imagine the pain of miscarriage but you sound positive to be taking a new step with IVF. Hope 9th July comes around quick for you :)

Yes - finally I have a normal cycle and can start IVF next cycle Carriebella! The first I many hudles I have to pass in the IVF process. Just waiting for my period to arrive. And for you I am hoping the opposite - that it holds off so you can fit IVF in around your holiday. Nice to just get on with things isn't it, instead of all the waiting and wondering.
