I'm on the roller coaster journey they call ivf for the first time. After reading some threads on here where people at the same time of their journey could reach out to others in the same situation I thought I'd start my own.
I'm currently one week into stim drugs with an estimated EC in one week.
It would be great if ur at the same point to join this thread and share ur trials and tribulations and hopefully we can support each other through it.

Oh okay, so there's ane age cut off in the UK. I am in Australia so none are funded. I will get a bit of money back with each IVF but still out of pocket lots of $$$$. In Australia, I paid $65 for AMH test. I assume others on here in the UK could tell you how your system works!

Thanks for your well wishes Coco.

Hi all,
Interesting that you were talking about knowing too much and stress!
It's such a balancing act of 'knowledge is power' = feeling in control v knowing every small detail but having no real control = stress, isn't it?
After 4 years, I stopped asking too many questions, doing too much research and I suppose just detached a bit for mental health. Mind you, I wasn't paying for it or having to make lots of decisions!
I actually found IVF easier than clomid, of which I have nothing but awful memories.
Am no help at all, just checking in to see how you all are! Hope over40sem is ok x

Yes, I was feeling good about my new Dr and her plan for my next IVF. I then had to ruin it by doing research. I read both good and bad reviews of this protocol but with my negative TTC experience so far, my mind is only obsessed with remembering the bad ones!

I guess we are all different as I have found IVF to be way worse than Clomid. I want to write hopefully my March IVF will work and it will all be worth it but I am too scared to even think about it working and getting my hopes up.

Nice of you to check in eggsieggs. How are your HCG levels rising... I bet they are indicating twins! I just had a BFP vibe for you right through your IVF cycle and I have a twins vibe for you as well. Glad you are still in touch as I will be curious to know!

Zumm - also worth seeing if you can get your tubes looked at to see if they're clear. We have a six year old, who was conceived really quickly, but we haven't been able to conceive again. I'm also 41. All my hormones were fine and eventually they checked out my tubes and that was what the problem was - it seems they got blocked when I had my c-section, but it can happen for other reasons too. We're about to start IVF because "waiting and seeing" is less of an option when you're 41. Don't know if you have med insurance with work, but I found that mine would pay for the investigations. It won't pay for IVF, but at least we got the groundwork done before we had to start finding the pennies. Good luck!

Hi I'm on day 4 of drugs and Cetrotide makes me feel incredibly sick. I get a little itchy red patch where I inject (this is a common side affect). I live such a natural life its hard being pumped full of drugs.

Hi all,

I'm so glad I have found a group in a similar situation to me who I can share my pain with. I am due to start IVF soon. I live a healthy organic lifestyle so I am scared about all the drugs being pumped into me. I'm struggling as all my friends are falling pregnant naturally with no trouble whatsoever.

I suffered an ectopic pregnancy in June 2003 and my left tube had to be removed. I've been TTC since Jan 2012 and have had no luck whatsoever. All my test results are normal. I've had an HSG, laparsocopy and hysteroscopy done and everything is normal and clear. I ovulate regularly and my periods are normal and my husbands tests results are fine too. I went to see the consultant at CRGH and he said that most likely my one remaining tube is not functioning properly.

If anyone has some advice would be greatly appreciated!
