A supportive and slightly fluffy thread for those dealing with the issues of ttc longterm, whether with assisted fertility or not.

Hi everyone. Happy weekendSmile
I'm not sure if they'll get be in before christmas - they took my mobile number and said as I'm marked as urgent it'll be sooner rather than later. He said if he was a betting man he'd say my tubes are fine, it's just the lack of ovulation. However if tubes are damaged or blocked then straight to IVF, which quite honestly scares me silly! What will be will be, really trying to stay positive and hope it helps!
Hope everyone else is ok take care x

pinkapples · 17/12/2012 13:32

Ahhh just heard the heartbeat at my 15 week appointment! Felt quite low down but midwife didn't seem concerned and said baby should move! Is that normal?

OComeAllYeFaithBaby · 17/12/2012 18:36

Mine was way off to the left pink! You'll be amazed how much it wriggles around. I had 6 days between my '12 week' scans. In that time it went from being sat on its bottom to being upside down, curled round the placenta. Right now I think it's doing somersaults! 20 week scan showed healthy baby. So, so happy! Xmas Grin legs were up in the air so difficult to establish sex but no definite boy bits so looks like we're having a girl!

I really hope the op sorts the fertility ishoos mands.

wink did AF arrive?

Hope everyone is doing ok.

pinkapples · 17/12/2012 19:16

pinkapples · 17/12/2012 19:17

Hope everyone's ok? And getting ready for Christmas in a stress free way Grin

Only 7 days to go!

delilahbelle · 17/12/2012 19:41

Huge packet of drugs arrived today at work for me - luckily with it being nearly Xmas I had no questions from the receptionists. All a bit real and scary now. Should be starting on the pill at the start of my next cycle between Xmas and NY. I so so hope that 2013 is our year and this works.

Ooh delilah, praying that 2013 is your year! How's the house now?

flixy102 · 18/12/2012 17:14

Hey everyone!

Sorry I've been absent lately, I started a new job which totally threw me in at the deep end and I'm only finally coming up for air as everything slows down for Christmas!

Am in the 2ww of cycle #2 but not very hopeful as not sure if I'm even ovulating. Had no peak on my clearblue fertility monitor but I hear that's common on the first month using it as it gets to know your cycles. Have been trying to dtd frequently anyway!

Hope you are all looking forward to a lovely christmas!Grin

waitingtobeamummy · 18/12/2012 21:43

Hi all, I have my hsg on Thursday. Got over my meltdown about it but still dreading it. It says I won't be told results until I see my specialist /my fertility nurse said to phone her on 7th january. Is that how other peoples were?
Hope everybody is ok.

snowqueenrollo · 19/12/2012 06:37

waiting The registrar came round after my surgery to give me a brief run-down of what the surgery discovered, and what they did. I was supposed to see my Cons to get a full discussion but got a BFP before the appt came round and cancelled. (though the appt was a couple of months away, my hospital are rubbish)
Will be thinking of you on Thurs.

pinkapples · 20/12/2012 12:41

It's nearly Christmas!

waitingtobeamummy · 20/12/2012 17:28

Just got back from hospital. Bit of a palava as I'm lying there legs a limbo, speculum in place and the machine conked out! But tubes and womb are fine. She said the entrance into my cervix is tiny though and it took her forever to get in so potentially that's the problem. She said that just doing the procedure could have helped it. Otherwise their are things they can do. So v positive.

pinkapples · 20/12/2012 19:00

Wow waiting :-) that's good news then now you can enjoy Christmas knowing that nothing serious is wrong, especially as there are things they can do Grin

OComeAllYeFaithBaby · 20/12/2012 21:24

Ah waiting that's great news! They did similar with me. I reckon it's one of those situations where as my friend loves to say: Reality is kinder than the stories we tell ourselves! I had a tiny cervix too, he had to force his way through (it smarted!). Lots of women fall pregnant within three months of their HSG because it flushes the tubes clean - bit like an oil change! I hope you can relax and enjoy Christmas and hope things come good in 2013.

Good to hear from you flix! I don't know much about the clearblue monitors but I think it takes a while to get into the swing with them. Have they been checking your progesterone levels?

Mands81 · 20/12/2012 22:41

Hi everyone, hope all's well.
Waiting - great to hear your positive steps forward Smile
Surgery date is January 18th so not too long to wait... Been thinking about what the consultant said if my tubes are damaged or blocked then it'll be straight to IVF. This may be a really stupid question but how do they retrieve my eggs when I haven't been ovulating or producing anything of even half decent size?!??
I hope everyone's ready for christmas, I finished work yesterday til the 2nd jan, so lovely to have time off.
Hope everyone's ok, heres to 2013 being an amazing year for us all Smile xx

pinkapples · 21/12/2012 06:16

Hi mands please don't worry about the ivf prematurely it may not come to that however they stop your natural cycle and control it with drugs so they decide when everything happens. Then you inject a much higher dose of the injections than normal (however I only had 112.5 as scared of ohss) then when they are big enough they mature the eggs and go in and get them so you never actually have to ovulate as they retrieve them from the ovaries Grin sounds a bit invasive but they put you to sleep so its not at all as you don't feel anything , will you get any cycles free?

Mands81 · 21/12/2012 08:18

Thank you pink Grin
Yes, 3 free cycles which is great. As you say though it may not come to that. I hope the surgery is successful and they don't find anything too worrying, what will be will be I suppose.
Hope you're doing well? X

Devilforasideboard · 21/12/2012 10:28

Mands81 · 22/12/2012 23:04

Hope everyone's ok.
Just found out my boyfriends sister (whose also my best friend) is 6 weeks pregnant - "we weren't even trying" - so bittersweet yet again.... Sad x

waitingtobeamummy · 23/12/2012 09:10

Sorry to hear that mands does she know your problems? (can't think of right word) even though you're happy for them, your heart just sinks doesn't it?
I've been feeling poorly for a few days and it developed into norovirus last night. Feeling v sorry for myself and hoping it'll be 24hr thing x

Mands81 · 23/12/2012 10:11

Oh no waiting that's awful, feel better very soon Thanks
Yes she knows and she told me before anyone else which was lovely of her. Of all the couples in our lives they would have been the last people to have a baby! It's just so hard when you're so happy for them but it hurts so much too Sad I truly believe in fate and what will be will be. Hopefully 2013 will be the most amazing year for everyone x

Mands81 · 24/12/2012 17:18
