A supportive and slightly fluffy thread for those dealing with the issues of ttc longterm, whether with assisted fertility or not.

Brilliant news waiting.

flixy of course we know what you mean about having a regular cycle - I was thrilled to get my first AF on clomid even if it was anovulatory! Made me feel a bit like a proper woman again Blush

devil, hope it all goes really well for you at the scan today. Such an exciting time! (Ooh - just thinking - there might be more than one HB...)

pink check the ingredients of the apple crunch tea, it will say if it's got actual tea in it as opposed to just herbs and apple flavourings. But at almost 12 weeks one or two caffeinated drinks a week aren't likely to be do any harm are they? (Though can completely understand you wanting to avoid.)

mands how was the Spain trip? Hope all goes well at your scan today. Might there even be a very exciting surprise? (Sorry, I get my hopes up very easily when it's other people!)

summerintherosegarden · 22/11/2012 13:40

Yay, devil, YAY! Grin

HavingALittleFaithBaby · 22/11/2012 13:47

Wonderful news :)

Mands81 · 22/11/2012 18:28

Brilliant news devil Grin
Back from scan. New very large cyst which explains my pain and no AF. Emergency bloods taken, results tomorrow. Talk of theatre SadSad x

pinkapples · 22/11/2012 19:05

Oh my goodness mands do they know what's caused it?

Congrats devil! You must be so excited!! Did it look like a duck?

Devilforasideboard · 22/11/2012 19:07

Oh Mands I'm sorry to hear that. Hope tomorrow's news is better x

Waiting that's fantastic! And now if you have to have the lap at least you know the Clomid works.

I'm still on cloud 9! Pink is right, it did look a bit ducky Grin. I was mainly focussed on watching it's wee heart beating. Best moment of my life and worth every minute of the last three and a half years Smile

Mands81 · 22/11/2012 19:19

Such happy happy news devil SmileSmile
No, don't know what's caused it. Made the mistake of googling stuff and now I've scared myself silly! Sad if they need to remove it then hopefully they'll do all the other stuff whilst they're 'in there' x

summerintherosegarden · 22/11/2012 19:44

Oh devil your last sentence has made me feel so positive. You deserve every second of this!

Mands, you poor thing. Stay away from google! I think it's quite common in women taking clomid - they will probably just drain it and, yes, sort out any other bits and pieces that are needed. Do you know if you'll go back on clomid after this or if they'll try something different?

Mands81 · 22/11/2012 21:25

I'm not sure because I hadn't even started clomid on this cycle yet. Just been on metformin and progesterone. All the other times I've been scanned on clomid it was fine. This large cyst has come out of nowhere. This cycle was to be my last ever try on clomid, hopefully helped along by the metformin but not sure what'll happen now. Trying to stay positive. So lovely to read lots of happy positive stories on here Smile x

pinkapples · 22/11/2012 22:03

Awww so happy for you we nicknamed ours Donald until the 10 week scan showed an actual human like blob Grin

waitingtobeamummy · 23/11/2012 07:40

Womb lining perfect. Three follicles all ready to pop over the weekend! Can't believe I even have a chance

pinkapples · 23/11/2012 14:56

Woohoo waiting good luck and fingers and toes crossed! Grin

flixy102 · 23/11/2012 18:12

Mands I hope today has brought some positivity for you?

Waiting I have my fingers crossed for you, your womb lining and your little ripe follies!!

Ever so slight spotting for me today, which gives me 32? day cycles, which I don't think are too bad! Considering my periods were very irregular pre pill.

Happy weekend everyone! Going out for a big dinner with DH later to celebrate my first week in my new job. Smile

waitingtobeamummy · 23/11/2012 18:21

Have a fab time flixy !

HavingALittleFaithBaby · 23/11/2012 21:27

flixy you shouldn't count it as day 1 unless you have enough flow to use sanitary wear before 3pm if that helps. Good that AF is on her way in a sensible length cycle though :)

waiting that's fantastic! Go follicles! Get shagging my good woman Grin

pink we call our bump Pickle!

waitingtobeamummy · 23/11/2012 22:22

Ha ha having. Nurse said tonight and sunday and then we will Monday if the follicles have popped. Resisting the urge to launch myself on him tommorrow too :)

HavingALittleFaithBaby · 24/11/2012 10:25

waiting if his sperm count is ok, it won't do any harm to do it today as well Wink

flixy102 · 24/11/2012 12:17

Thanks faith, it didn't come to anything this morning so I'm defo on CD 33 now! Sigh Sad

pinkapples · 24/11/2012 18:46

Any heads up on a belly scan? How much to drink, when to start drinking and when I should last go to the bathroom sans at 2.45 Grin

HavingALittleFaithBaby · 24/11/2012 20:44

Hardest part of pregnancy pink! My scan letter said 1.5 pints an hour beforehand. I drank quite a bit in the morning and then my 1.5 pints. I was in agony before my scan. I actually had to go and pee some out to get a better view! I'd have a pint before, I reckon that's enough. Don't drink too much in the morning.

HavingALittleFaithBaby · 24/11/2012 20:44

Oh and sorry flixy, but in some ways that it was a fair length cycle eh?

pinkapples · 25/11/2012 16:08

Scan went well baby very wriggly Grin had the downs blood test so well wait and see now but everything looks good not keen on one scan pic it's meant to show both sides of babies brain but it makes it look like an alien Hmm its hubby's birthday today to to out for dinner with the rents and inlaws tonightSmile I'm just sat with a hot choc at the mo trying to get rid of my headache... I didn't ask midwife but any clues on when to stop the folic acid and if I don't stop it will it damage baby?

How's everyone else doing this weekend?

waitingtobeamummy · 25/11/2012 21:41

Ahh brilliant news pink so chuffed for you! From what I remember (i read up at the beginning of ttc when I was full of hope :) ) It's for the first 12wks of pregnancy then you can stop.
I have final scan tommorrow to see if follicles have popped. Been getting shooting pains tonight and have a feeling of doom hanging over me. We'll see what happens.
