Israel Flouts International Law Again and Murders Innocent People.

The Israeli armed forces have flouted international law by attacking civilian ships in international waters and killing civillians.
As usual they lied and said they were shot at first. Then they said they were attacked with sticks and knives. Well, pardon my ignorance, but if you are sailing in international waters, if you are attacked, you are justified in defending yourself. If this were off the Somalia coast, they would be called pirates.

They are slowly strangling the Gaza strip by denying it access to building materials so that the people can rebuild their houses and schools.

They are not joining talks to keep the Middle East nuclear free

What a shame George and Tony aren't still in power, they could have found another country to invade.

Just read it on the BBC here. Absolutely awful but par for the course where Israel are concerned. Nothing will change unless American policy changes and that won't happen under this president unfortunately.

I have a feeling that one day they are just going to march in and take the whole of the Gaza Strip for themselves.

I'm not holding my breath for anything to be done about it, or for governments to even condemn them.

Israel can get away with anything, no one cares about the illegal nukes, human rights abuses, massacres etc

IMO they are up there with North Korea.

'Unfortunately this group were dead-set on confrontation," Israeli government spokesman Mark Regev told the BBC....

Yup that's right - the armed commandos boarding the ships in the middle of the night were totally non-confrontational....

Sometimes it seems like just breathing is an outrageous provocation by the Palestinians

do you think it will end if they give the Palestinians everything they want?

Missus84 · 31/05/2010 12:10

scanty what are you talking about? The Israelis murdered unarmed civilians attempting to bring aid to the Palestinians. Whatever your opinion on the Palestinian struggle how can behaviour like that ever be justified?

littleducks · 31/05/2010 12:10

I got a message last night at midnight about an 'emergency demo' sadly it seems its too late

I dont think there is much to be said about it though, what was done was horrific and inexcusable

"do you think it will end if they give the Palestinians everything they want?"

Yes.

Look, Israel is built on ethnic cleansing, taking property and land from owners, forcing them into small enclaves, then even taking that as well. Backed up by huge military might.

It isn't surprising it gets an armed response.

Israel is a terror state. No doubt in my mind it will finish off the remaining Palestinians, either through extermination or more likely expelling those remaining.

At that point in the next 100 years, Israel will be toast.

There is no hope for Israel, Israel's only hope would be to be a secular state where people of any background can live. Those in power in the country (and nearby countries like the fascist thugs and US allies in Egypt) have too much to lose to allow that to happen. They all owe their power to war, ethnic hatred and violence.

I think the secularisation of Israel will only happen after the country is decimated in the next 100 years or so, quite likely by a nuclear exchange of some sort.

Sad, but there is no hope for Israel. Let alone the Palestinians who are trapped there.

Israel will survive so long as it has American support. It will continue to have American support because of the powerful Jewish lobby in American politics. I thought that would change with Obama but it hasn't in the slightest. I had hoped Israel's invasion of Lebanon would have changed that view but unfortunately it didn't.

Missus84 · 31/05/2010 12:34

Unbelievable - Israeli's claiming the flotilla had links to Al Quaeda!

THat is why I like Iran. It is one of the only countries in the world that has the backbone to stand up against the US and say that Israel is out of order.
WHich is why the US hates Iran: it refuses to dance to their tune.
WHy the fuck doesn't Saudi grow a spine and support their muslim brothers and sisters in Palestine? WHy are the US and Saudi best of buddies? Oh, yes, the oil. Saudi women are treated as second-class citizens, worse than any other muslim country bar Afghanistan, and yet the US thinks this is fine.
