But can't the people setting up the drag hunt make it so the dogs have a break and lose the scent? That can't be too hard to do surely?

Anyone read the article about a fox being pcked to death by chickens - not sure of original source but it was in The Week a couple of weeks ago. Got in the hen house and they dealt with him. Don't think they were on horseback at the time.

I went to college in a rural setting where the hunt was allowed over portions of the land. One of the gamekeeping students took me out and showed me where the hunt had dug out artificial earths to encourage/introduce foxes there. Hardly vermin control.
