swiper, Dh just said exactly the same.

swiperfox · 07/07/2005 19:22

Blimey. Just said on news that the police are struggling to deal with around 42,000 calls to the helpline

RTKangaMummy · 07/07/2005 19:23

Am watching BBC

The other channels seem very sensationalized

Dingle · 07/07/2005 19:32

Are you in contact with your friend family HH? Are they trying to get through to the help line too?

Hopefully, they will get the help line issues sorted so that your fears can be put to ease.

Hugs HH.

Thinking of all of you still waiting to hear from friends and family. There are no words to say how horrified and angry I feel. Dh uses that underground line every day and would have been on it this morning had he not decided to work from home today, he was very lucky indeed today.
I hope you all get good news soon. I am so impressed by the calm and dignity of people in London.

HappyHuggy · 07/07/2005 20:41

Still no news

spots · 07/07/2005 20:43

Hope all you Londoners are OK. I s anyone still at work? they said on the news that some people might not be able to get home at all tonight... suppose unlikely to be people with kids tho... would walk myself...

I find the level of resignation to this event quite unnerving. The thinks bubble that says 'it could have been worse' is quite visible. I know there are people on this thread who are waiting for contact from friends/family and am sure that won't help but I think it's probably partly due to a sense of preparedness. (which in itself is rather sinister IYKWIM) Won't ease the anxiety tho - I hope you hear from your people soon.

does he live alone?
Do you have any mutual friends you could ring to see if they have heard anything at all?
Are you sure he was in that area at those times?

Lots of questions I know but just trying to help out. Hope you do hear something soon.

HH, so hoping you get good news soon. Could he just be stranded at a hotel somewhere, unable to get home? Hoping that is the case...
