morningpaper · 14/01/2010 20:28

Their press release is SPOT ON. Absolutely fecking spot-on.

onebatmother · 14/01/2010 20:30

I just emailed them to thank them.

At least I think it's them.

hahahaha, that's hilarious. talk about grabbing an opportunity.

i would like to inform John and Laura that i ALWAYS read the advertising in taxis. (it's true, i do. but then i'd read the back of a cereal packet, i'm all about the print).

onebatmother · 14/01/2010 20:32

It's unspinnable which is what is so gratifying. Oh well done all of you.

Wow! Fantastic!

Thanks for the link!

Botbot · 15/01/2010 09:22

D'you think we're going to see a rash of PRO-working-mother adverts? Have already seen one, on Southeastern Trains's website

SnowWorm · 15/01/2010 09:27

This is completely great!

Who are Transport Media? Is there any sense in which they gain by OAA's loss? I mean, are they in the same business as rivals or as complementary companies with different roles?

Not that that matters, it is great either way.

midnightexpress · 15/01/2010 09:31

That's great! At least I think it is. TBH, my head is exploding trying to figure out who is who in this sorry saga. A media company cancelling a contract with an advertising agency because of advertising about advertising? Is that right?

Hassled · 15/01/2010 09:33

Blimey - that is just brilliant. MrsBaldwin should be here making bows and being showered with flowers .

SnowWorm · 15/01/2010 09:45

lol midnight.

Perhaps the industry will spiral into an infinitely small point within its own bottom and we will be freeeee.

edam · 15/01/2010 09:45

Bloody well done Transport Media and I am rolling out the red carpet for Mrs Baldwin.

I think Transport Media are the people who place ads on buses/tubes/taxis/trains. So Beta buy space from TM on behalf of their clients.

BecauseImWorthIt · 15/01/2010 09:48

Fantastic. I'm glad, too, that it's coming from elsewhere and not just MN.

Perhaps Garry et al will really get the message now?

How are we doing with those posters being removed, by the way? I've hardly been out of the house recently so have no idea what's happening in the outside world!

SnowWorm · 15/01/2010 09:49

It sounds like Transport Media would be a member of OAA and that OAA would be an trade body set up to aid its members. Which suggests TM's decision was simply a principled one, not one that aided them by harming OAA?

paisleyleaf · 15/01/2010 09:55

Wow.
I'm a bit confused about who's who now too. I guess transport media are the ones with the advertising space.
It really seems we did the right thing in not getting too involved with them and giving them slogans and MN logo etc.

SnowWorm · 15/01/2010 09:57

That's v true, paisley. It would look very bad now if there had been a different outcome to Beta's request on here.

sis · 15/01/2010 10:27

bump for MrsB
