Militant Islamic group banned

News story here. For some reason the banning makes me more uneasy than the group itself. It just doesn't feel very British to go around banning beliefs. I suppose I have enough trust in the tolerance/apathy of the UK population to think that nobody would take them at all seriously, and they might be few enough in number to round up if/as soon as they start kicking off. Banning just seems..wrong, somehow, basically it's what exremists do.

Any thoughts?

yes in saudi officially it is wahabism serenity and that is their portrayal of how islam is to be ideally practised!
All deaths are deplored and i am very much oppsed to both wars in Afgahnistan and Iraq because i see them both as a political game and i do not beleieve the b*sH**t we are out to save or protect anybody..i deplore the young men who die unnecessarily everyday as i do deplore the endless numbers of civilians who are killed, maimed, raped and tortured in both countries( talk about saving them eh?)..when i see that Iraqi kid standing alone with a dusty, tear stained face my heart plunges and i am angry Big Time and yes i did march against the war every time there was a march...but it had nothing to do being Msulim and everything to do with being human and very much sane!

I don't know why we give these morons space TBH. So they 'plan a march' in Wooten Bassett. Gazillions of people take up the cause of 'protesting' the 'march' and it whizzes round the internet spreading the name of Islam4UK or whatever so now everyone has heard of them. I'd bet my right big toe they never intended to march anywhere. Now they have been banned for what purpose? If they had indeed tried to march the backlash would have meant the police would have been out and stopped it sharpish. Now, once again, everyone is talking about them and what is more, they will be spreading their message even further by playing up the 'evil UK hates Islam' card.

These groups are nothing more than troublemakers and disaffected morons and if we ignored them they would not be able to reach a hundredth of the people they are now reaching.

I find this all such a stupid, non-issue. If the police have information that they are involved in the planning of terrorism, then arrest them. If they are just a bunch of loud mouthed idiots with issues, don't give them a bloody platform and they can't achieve anything whatsoever.
