but they do make us sound nice and clever at the end

Although I think it's time that Baby Dancing was removed from the acronym list

And huns were banned from reviewing prams unless they spellcheck first

there's a thread about this - I agree some of the acronyms are . Don't think VBAC is an MN specific one though!

MamaG · 19/11/2009 10:47

Agree we need to BAN BD, I never see anybody use it anyway!

I feel really annoyed by articles like this. Is it designed to make WOHMs feel inadequate?

WilfSell · 19/11/2009 10:49

"Alone in their suburban kitchens, mug of tea by the laptop"

FUCK OFF.

Actually: surrounded by shrieking students clamouring for my attention, while I write a research paper and mark the odd essay and fill in a form to demonstrate I am meeting a govt target or two, posting a bon mot as relief from reading nonsense.

It's the fucking Torygraph that is stuck in Celia Johnson land.

How surprising that the article was written by a bloke.

morningpaper · 19/11/2009 10:49

Ah yes other thread sorry

haven't you got cappucino to drink and nails to polish riven?

MamaG · 19/11/2009 10:51

I AM alone in my house (apart from napping baby) with a mug of coffee.

So fucking what? Does that make me some sort of twat, who is less worthy of contributing to a website fgs? I am at home because I have three children and I'm CHOOSING to be at home for a while. I worked solidly from leaving college to going on maternity leave and I plan to home study for a change of career. I'm not stupid.

Yes, I'm entirely underemployed . Let's see, two children who need entertaining, a business to run, a major fundraising drive I'm leading, a household to organise (oh and yes I do have a cleaner, I have two buildings and high standards and I can afford it, so what?

Perhaps if I had more time to sit on my bum and scratch I'd not need Mumsnet as a brief stopgap before picking up the reigns again.

StealthPolarBear · 19/11/2009 11:01

pmsl at "I may lift my feet as she beavers past" - are you a teenager??

"There?s one way to find out, Anniemac, and that?s to do some cleaning yourself. After all, you posted at 1600 hours, so either you got home from work early or have spent the afternoon in Starbucks wailing about Rhodri?s bonus going south this year and having to content yourself with just one visit to Zermatt."

That is pretty nasty. Either Anniemac is a skiver who left at 3pm to go home and post on MN or she is a trophy wife of a banker.

Interesting to see how we are seen by others. Vacant and spoilt snobs apparently.

He can't help spouting shit, he's clearly, (for example) an arse!

bibbitybobbityhat · 19/11/2009 11:15

Oh God that is infuriating. I hope Kew takes him up on that.

So, erm, all publicity is good publicity? I think not!

And now we've gone up from 800,000 to 850,000 members. I could have sworn it was 800,000 on Channel 4 news last night .

Boco · 19/11/2009 13:02

What a nasty, sneery, mean spirited condescentding pile of shite.

I agree with Wilf. Fuck OFF.

WouldYouCouldYouWithaGoat · 19/11/2009 13:08

there is another thread on this but i don't suppose there is such a thing as telling this man to fuck off too many times.

Boco · 19/11/2009 13:11

No I don't suppose so, I might just randomly tell him to fuck off all over the place. I am surprising myself by how irritated that's made me, what a prick.

WouldYouCouldYouWithaGoat · 19/11/2009 13:12

although i ssuspect he might be ejaculating everytime we say it, like a fucked up tory tinkerbell

LadyBlaBlah · 19/11/2009 13:12

ROFL @ "but i don't suppose there is such a thing as telling this man to fuck off too many times"

So, fuck off

Boco · 19/11/2009 13:17

rofl at fucked up ejaculating tory tinkerbell. That's quite an image.

WilfSell · 19/11/2009 16:26

Just got back to this thread and sprayed my tea all over the screen 'at ejaculating tory tinkerbell'.

Not exactly Tinkerbell... He probably gets so few shags he would come on a hairtrigger
