As I understand it, the child was not back living with her mum, but was only there for a visit as the father was out of town on a business trip.

The father had only recently allowed contact again because the Mum was (supposedly) off drugs, and had been working steadily for 6 months. The father felt she had 'turned over a new leaf', and deserved a second chance.

What I don't understand is why the man caught with the child on hotel security cameras turned himself in to police. He probably could have 'got away with it', as the hotel was 40 miles from the Mum's home and police probably would never have checked the tapes.

The Mum is pregnant by a man she implicated as the culprit who 'took' her daughter. He was arrested and charged only to be released by police when the other man (on security camera) turned himself in.

I wonder if she can be executed. North Carolina is a death penalty state. The problem is she did not kill the child, but there is precedent for this, a previous kidnapping that led to rape and murder resulted in a death sentence

Sounds from the father's comments that he a Christian man "It's not the result I wanted. But God has a greater calling for all of us."

I wonder if Christian forgivness was a motivation in giving the mother a second chance.

Having read the comments about this, I am not going to read the article.

I read about this case last week on SKY news when they were looking for her, can't believe this is how it has ended

I think they were using the CCTV to find the person who took her hence why he turned himself in.
